Chapter 6

The whole Agu kingdom is alarmed that Awal and the Trijans are camped just right beside their Kingdom.

The Elders have a meeting concerning the matter at stake.

"What are we to do? Those blood thirsty enemy soldiers are camped right just beside us?" An Elder said panicking

"Are we to fight back? Or just sit still and watch as they destroy our land, family and life as we know it?. We are not safe " Another said

"Why are you talking as if you do not serve a living God, He will fight for us. We must be calm," said another Elder

"He is right we must be calm, God will help us. In the meantime we have to be safe and follow orders and at the same time apply caution in rationing our foodstuff to make sure we do not run out. Please inform the chief in charge of the food supplies. " The chief Elder said.

"I have heard from God," The chief priest said walking to where the Elders were seated.

"And what does God have to say about what is going on?" The chief Elder said

"God said anyone that has breath and life should go on a fast and prayers for seven days and it must commence this night," The chief priest said

"We must do that immediately, inform the kingdom, " The chief Elder said to the Town crier who was summed into the meeting.

Chidima jerked up from her bed like she had a troubling night's sleep.

"Chidima a..are y.you alright? You have been h...having troubling nightmares lately" Amaka said

"I don't know what is going on but I have been having this strange dreams it's not a nightmare but it's very strange," Chidima said

"C...Can y..you ex..explain what you see in t..the dream?" Amaka said

"I find myself in this very large acres of land with lots of grasses it's like a very large field where sheep are reared. I see myself looking around wondering what I am doing in such a place and then suddenly I see these flock of sheep thousands of them running towards me creating a stampede, I feel like I would get crushed, and I try to run but they catch up with me. You know what is stranger, they all gather around me hugging me, they feel so warm as my body touches theirs," Chidima said

"Hmm, what d..do y..you think it m..means? "Amaka said

" I have no idea it's so strange" she replied

"Maybe y...you should meet the priest a..and ask him to tell God about it" Amaka suggested

"No I do not want to be a bother, it is not important besides we are going through a war crisis. I think it's best if God focuses on that " Chidima said

"W.Well perhaps you are right b..but the dream d...doesn't seem s...so bad to me," Amaka said laughing

"Amaka you are not serious," Chidima said laughing back.

The Seven days of fasting were over and the Elders and the whole kingdom gathered again with the Priest to hear from God.

"Hmm my people the fasting was successful and now we are all here to hear what God has to say, about all this," The chief Elder said.

"God has spoken to me and this is what he said be still and know that I'm your God you will not need to lift a finger, " the chief priest said.

"But how? These people are camping beside us how can we not fight" a man said

"Let's be quiet God has spoken," another said.

The whole crowd muttered.

"Enough!! " The priest said making the whole crowd go quiet

"Listen to what God has to say first. He said we should declare the victory He has given us and praise and worship Him. We will throw a grand party and great feast let us dine and dance. That is his commandment" the Priest said to the crowd.

That night Agu kingdom throws a party celebrating and dancing chanting with their drums and other musical instruments, They made a lot of noise that the Trijans could even hear. This troubled the Trijans and angered them.

"What in the world is going on there, why is there so much commotion?" a Trijan said angry

"They are throwing a party in the middle of war are this people mocking us?" Another said

"Let's attack now " one said carrying his weapons

"Enough!! I will talk to Chief Awal now" The second in command said going into Awal's Tent.

Awal sits down mediating at the same time sharpening his sword

"What do you want?" Awal asked

"Chief do you know whats going on out there? Those people are throwing a party in the middle of a war, they are making a fool of us. Let us attack now" he yelled at Awal

Awal did not respond but continued sharpening his sword.

"Why are you not doing anything? Let's attack now" the second in command kept yelling raising his hands up in anger.

Awal gets angry and pushes the second in command to the wall placing his hands on his chest tightly "what you are seeing does it look normal to you? Stop bickering and tell the Trijans to be quite and allow me to think"he said yelling into his face finally removing his hand .

" yes chief " the second in command said moving outside the tent

Out of anger Awal let out a loud shout "we need to end this" Awal said to himself. He calls out to His side from his tent window

"Kakul, get me a beautiful maiden to attend to my needs. I need to calm my spirit before I can take any meaningful action"

"Right away my commander" Kakul responded as he stood by Awal's tent window.

"Get to it immediately and ensure you don't create unnecessary attention to the Trijans. Also ensure that my wine keg is filled up and brought to my tent". Awal instructs him.

"Yes my commander, I will be on my way now". Kakul bows his head a bit in reverence as he walks away briskly.
