Chapter 8
The fast was soon over for Chidinma as the main day approached. She spent time praying to hear from God.
"Dear father help me as I go to the Trijans. Give me the strength and wisdom to handle them. Remember the innocent lives that were killed. My father listens to my prayers and helps me bring victory to my people "
She prayed.
During these times her loyal friends came by to check on her daily.
Olanna and Amaka stopped by to check on her as usual.
"Chidinma we have arrived with food to break your fast for the day," olanna said carrying a basket of fruits
"H..how are y.you doing my dear?" Amaka asked concerned
"I appreciate you guys thanks for the food you didn't have to and Amaka I am doing well," Chidinma said
"Don't say that what are friends for?" Olanna scolded her
"Have y..you heard a..anything from God? Amaka asked
" you guys don't worry I will explain everything at the end of my fast" Chidinma assured them
"But Chidinma this thing you want to do is it not risky? I mean you want to go to the lion's den like a scapegoat biko I hope you know what you're doing?" Olanna said in a doubting tone
"It will not make sense now but I promise it will all work out in the end," Chidinma said eating her fruits
"Hmm if you say so" Olanna replied
"We a..are with you all t..the way," Amaka said
"Personalize your we oo me I'm still young biko, " Olanna said
Chuckling Chidinma said" It's ok olanna I would never put you in danger"
"Better oo" olanna said
"See you," Amaka said
They all laughed together.
The last day for the fast came by and already the whole kingdom is talking about Chidinma.
"I can't believe she would risk her life like that," a woman said
"What does she think she would do there she is just a woman," another said
The gossip spread around the kingdom but this did not stop her she was still determined.
At the end of the fast Chidinma was ready to face the Elders and the kingdom with her friends by her side.
"Chidinma what have you heard from God concerning this,?" the Chief Elder said
"My people, my Elders I know what I suggested sounded strange to you but I assure you that all is well and that God has appointed me to go to the Trijan tenth I will not go alone as I will take my friend Amaka with me I have a Plan do not worry about me till I return, " Chidinma said
"If God said you may go then that is fine I believe you know what you are doing," The chief Elder said.
Two days were given for Chidinma to prepare to leave.
She was made up and well furnished for the Trijans.
After two days, it was time Chidinma and Amaka left at the midnight like a thief in the night.
The guards opened the gate and they left.
"I am v...very scared" Amaka whispered.
"Do not be we are not alone we have God by our side " Chidinma said.
Meanwhile, unknown to the trijans that two beautiful women were approaching them.
A guard saw them as they drew closer and Alarmed the others.
"Two women are approaching us I suspect they are from the Agu kingdom, " The guard said to kakul
"What let us go and see them do not attack yet," he said
Chidinma and Amaka both came near the tenth
"Who are you and what do you want here?" Kabul said to them
"My name is Chidinma I am from Agu kingdom and this is my sister we ran away from our kingdom because our God is going to let you destroy them," she said confidently
Kakul and the guard stared at Chidinma because of her beauty it was like they were charmed by her beauty.
They listened to her story and took her and Amaka in.
"We have listened to you and you saved your life by coming here all you have to do is tell our chief all that you told me and you will be fine," Kakul said to her
"Ok I will do that" she responded
About thirty guards were sent to escort her and Amaka to see Awal.
The whole Trijan camp was in commotion as they all came out to see Chidinma because of her beauty. The news spread from the tenth to the tenth of her arrival. They wondered how the people of Agu kingdom were because of Chidinma.
