The end of September came and went in a blur - I was so busy redecorating the cabin I didn't have time for much else. The work kept me busy so I couldn't dwell on the fact that Jax and Colt were no closer to finding Trent than they had been when they'd left.
It also exhausted me, so by the time I dragged myself to bed each night, I practically passed out. Not that I was complaining - when I slept that soundly, I didn't have nightmares.
By the end of October, getting up each morning knowing Trent wouldn't be there with me was normal. And I hated that. I hated this new normalcy, and I really hated that the pain, no matter how much time passed, was still just as raw as it had been the night Trent was taken from me.
Whitney and I, with Abby and Isach's help, had finished the cabin remodeling two weeks ago - except for the nursery and playroom. They knew what the plans were for those two rooms, but I still refused to touch them until Trent came home.
