Chapter 435: Returning the Favor, Part 2

My stomach fluttered with nerves. I couldn't believe we were really doing this! I'd dreamed of this moment, of how we'd tell our friends and family that we were pregnant, of how they'd react.

"Just promise me one thing," Trent said, tightening his hold on me so I couldn't get up to grab my cell phone.

"What?"

"Don't stray too far away from me tonight," he said, his words laced with dread and fear. "I know this place isn't that big, and we're not leaving the house, but not having you close to me. . . it. . ." He blew out a shaky breath.

"It what?" I whispered.

"It gives me a panic attack," he said, meeting and holding my gaze. "I have nightmares about us being ripped apart again."

Wow. I hadn't expected that. Though, I understood how he felt. Even taking a shower alone this morning had been difficult - I was convinced when I got out, Trent would be gone again, that he'd have been taken from me.
