I sat on the couch, my feet propped on the coffee table. Trent was on his back with his head in my lap, gazing up at me.
"We have to check in with my aunt and uncle," I said, running my fingers through his hair. "I told them we extended our honeymoon. Then I told them you were sick, but they're not going to buy that lie for much longer. I haven't even seen them since I came home."
He groaned. "When I said I wanted to forget everything, I meant for like a week or two. It's only been two days."
I laughed. "At least let's call them. That way, we don't even have to leave the cabin."
Trent sat up and brushed his lips over mine. I'd quickly learned this was his favorite distraction technique, and it worked every single time. He swept his hand alongside my neck, pulling me closer and deepening the kiss.
"Give us the rest of tonight," he said softly. "Then I promise we'll go visit your aunt and uncle first thing tomorrow."
"Okay," I said, breathless.
