Chapter 444: Just You, Part 1

I marched into the guest room - because our room was still trashed - and Trent followed. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it, arms crossed. My heart was in my throat, and my palms were sweaty. This conversation probably could have waited, but it was too late now.

"Why did you invite more people over when you know I don't want anyone here?" he asked.

The very last thing I wanted right now was to argue with him, but that might be the only way I could get him to tell me what was going on. If he got angry enough, he'd talk.

"Because it's obvious we all know different things that we haven't shared, and there's no way we're going to win against the Zoya if everyone isn't on the same page," I said with a shrug. "So, I figured why not have everyone come over so we can all finally come clean. About everything."

Trent narrowed his eyes. "And this had to be today?" he asked.
