Chapter 475: Untrustworthy, Part 1

While it was nice to see something other than the familiar walls of the cabin, I hated the reason why I wasn't there. What was going on? Was Trent okay? Was everyone else? What was Dante saying to them? Had they killed him?

I paced, agitation building inside of me.

As soon as we'd arrived, Isach did a bunch of spells to secure the house, making it nearly impenetrable to anyone other than me, him, Abby, and Trent. Abby was at work and wouldn't be home until much later. But Trent. . . who knew when he'd finally show up? It had been hours, and every second that passed without hearing from him was torture. All of this reminded too much of the days right after Dante had kidnapped Trent when I was alone and terrified of never seeing my husband again.

I groaned. "What is taking them so long? Can't we just call them?" I asked Isach, who was seated on the couch.
