Chapter 479: Mommy, Part 2

Moments later, the nurse returned with Emma. She was asleep in the bassinet, and I handed Sarah to Trent, who laid her down next to her sister.

"How's the new mom feeling?" the nurse asked.

"Better than I thought I would," I said.

She smiled. "Good. Don't overdo it, though, okay? Rest as much as you can, and a word of advice - sleep when the babies sleep. Trust me on that." She laughed.

"Thanks," I said.

"Emma and Sarah will be ready for another feeding in about two hours, so I'll be back then to check in and show you how to prepare their bottles," she said as she bustled around the room checking various cabinets.

"Okay," I said. While I was grateful for her offer to help, I couldn't stop feeling like a failure. What kind of mom didn't even know how to fix a bottle to feed her children?

"If you're ready for visitors, I'll let them know they can come in," the nurse said.

"Thanks," I said, blinking against the looming tears.

With a nod, she left the room.
