My arms tingled, and my hands were numb with nerves. I paced the floor behind the couch and chewed on my pinkie nail. Every few seconds, I'd glance at the clock on the wall. Why weren't they here yet? Had something happened? Surely, if their plane had been delayed, they would've called by now.
"Chloe, honey, relax," Trent said. He sat on the couch, Emma cradled in his arms. "They'll be here."
I nodded absently, my gaze wandering to the bassinet in the corner where Sarah was sound asleep. Dad, Larissa, and Little Frank were due to arrive any minute, and I was anxious to see them. I was also terrified, because tomorrow was the big day - the day I'd fought so hard for, the day I'd give up my human life for a vampire one.
