Dear Lilly,
I have to be honest and tell you that your last letter troubled me. I think you need to move out. See if our cousin, Jessica, will take you in. I was afraid when I left that you would be in trouble. Remember that I warned you, but you refused to listen. I don’t want you to experience what I did. Mama will not help you. She won’t listen to anything bad against him. She thinks we are at fault. Please let me know what you plan to do.
We are doing good and still are living above Roy’s cousin’s place. He finally got a job in a factory here and I found a job in a department store. There are so many pretty things there. I took some money from my first paycheck and bought a pretty bed cover. Our little apartment is slowly looking like a real home.
I have to get ready for work now. Please be careful and let me know what happens.
Love, Sara
