Jeannie - Disagreements

Before we could comment, Leslie walked in with two large bags in her hands. She gave a wide smile to Clyde and waved her hand in the air.

“I’m here. Had to run a few errands first. How are you, Clyde?”

Of course, she knew Clyde. She seemed to know everyone she met.

“Hello, Leslie. I hadn’t realized this was your mother.”

Of course, he didn’t. Leslie rarely mentioned Mom unless she was angry at her. One might even assume she didn’t have a mother. Well, now she for sure didn’t.

“Oh, yes. Married names always confuses people.”

If he knew Erick and he knew Leslie, how did he not connect the dots? Maybe my siblings weren’t as close as I thought they were.

“Well, we were just going over your mothers arrangements,” Clyde said as Leslie took her place on the couch next to Mary.

“Oh, good. I stopped by the store and grabbed a dress for Mom along with a few other things.”
