Homework

The younger-looking teacher looked around the room as his face showed visible confusion. "What are you all doing standing up, go on, take your seats, I don't have all day."

With the experience that the students just witnessed they were still dumbstruck and had yet to take their seats.

But with the teacher's voice ringing out they came back to their senses and quickly went to their desks.

None of them had any idea what to do, no, they had no idea what they could do.

The teacher was unaware of the history-shattering event that just took place a few minutes before began his class.

"I see we have a new student, before you leave I suppose I should at least inform you of my name." The teacher then went ahead and moved to a corner of the classroom where an old chalkboard was. There he grabbed a piece of chalk that was below it and started to write out his name.

"But everyone just calls me Mr. S, pick your poison," He said, already heading back to the podium.

"Today we're going to continue our lesson from yesterday…"

Once I heard that it was the beginning of the lesson I quickly dropped my head back down on my desk.

After that, I didn't get interrupted once and I was able to get a full period of sleep.

When the bell rang signaling the end of class this time I didn't even bother to open my eyes.

Throughout the next couple of periods I wasn't even acknowledged, bells continued to ring, teachers entered and left the room, and time went on as I slept by.

That was until one specific bell rang.

Immediately after every student who was in the classroom jumped up and left.

I heard all the commotion of them gathering their things and quickly leaving.

Figuring something might be happening of interest I fluttered my eyes open. Lifting my head up from the desk as I look around to see one other person still in the room.

Yet I ignore them as I look past them to check the time of the clock hanging on the wall.

12:21

'It's probably lunch,' I conclude as being the reason everyone left the classroom.

"You're finally giving me some attention," The person who was still in the room said.

"No I was looking at the clock," I say absentmindedly as I reach down and grab my backpack.

Without so much as giving her a look, I rise and head towards the door. However, just as I was reaching out to grab the handle the person spoke up.

"Don't you want your homework?"

'I'm hungry,' I thought to myself as I turned around annoyed.

"Ask me the question," I say in response.

"Huh?" She asked, confused.

Now getting a good look at her I see that she is another teacher with a black uniform. However, he is in high heels and a black dress.

Because of the heels, she was 167.4 cm tall. She was clearly pregnant as a baby bump was sticking out of her.

Just by taking a look, I could tell she was around five months in.

"The homework, ask me the question, I'll solve it right now," I clarify.

"But it's homework you're supposed to do outside of school," The teacher says in response.

"Look I'll have it done before I even reach the lunchroom. What's the point of me taking it with me when I could just get it done now?" I reply even more annoyed that I was missing precious time to be eating.

Full of confidence the teacher says, "There's no way you will be able to get it done right now. It took me multiple hours to finish it and that's why I have it due two days from today. Just take it and get out of here."

Pushing the paper towards me I grab it out of her hands and take a glance at it.

The teacher who thought she won turned back to the podium grabbed her supplies and moved towards the door to leave.

Grabbing a pencil I spent more time scribbling down the numbers than thinking of the answer.

'4880197746793002076754294951020699004973287771475874'

"Done."

"What?" She asked, confused.

"That's the answer," I respond simply shoving the paper back into her hands before opening the door and leaving

'That's a waste of three minutes and twenty-eight seconds of my lunch,' I mutter to myself in my head.

While I continued on my way to the cafeteria the teacher looked down at the paper in utter disbelief.

[Question: Calculate the 250th value in the Fibonacci Sequence.]

Below it were many numbers that seemed without order.

Thinking it was a joke and being unable to believe that a student was able to solve it so fast the teacher put down her stuff to dig around.

In one of her folders, she grabbed a piece of paper, on it she had the exact same question but in red font was a set of numbers.

Placing the two pages right next to each other the teacher scanned between them to realize… there was no difference.

The numbers were without a doubt equal without a single number even being off by one.

"Wow," She couldn't help but mutter under her breath.

It needs to be noted that there is no internet service permitted for the students.

No electronic devices were on the school grounds as there was actually a sensor in the doorway when someone first enters the building.

Not only that but service was cut off from the school which effectively made cell phones useless.

There was a WiFi service set up but the only way to get access was through an encrypted password that changed every hour and it needed the authorization of a level four or higher person.

This was implemented so that there would be absolutely zero chance of looking up an answer.
