Ch 08

"Sh*t! Phone's battery died!" Sherlin yelled.

"What do we do now?" Juliet asked Peter.

"I have no idea at all!" Peter sighed.

"Let's hope that your Dad believed us and immediately went to inform the authorities about this apocalypse and that they can take some immediate action to rescue us and deal with those dead creatures." Peter added.

"Even if he does this, even when the authorities believe this and try to rescue us, it would take them atleast 72hrs to reach here by the ship as there are no other modes of transportation."Said Sherlin losing all hopes of survival.

"You're right." Juliet agreed with Sherlin.

"How are we going to survive here on our own for that long with those bloody monsters down there just waiting for a fraction of opportunity to kill us all." Sherlin cried out loud in despair.

"We don't have any food also. Surely we will be dead before they reach here." Juliet said agreeing with Sherlin.

They looked around themselves. The hall room was packed with people crying and screaming in terror and unimaginable horror which inflicted upon them on the very first day of their dream trip.

Peter moved his head around once again. There was a watch hanging from top right corner of the hall room. It was 2:50pm now. The outbreak of the zombies happened around two hours ago.

There was a glass window beside them. They tried to look down through it to see the situation below.

It was completely horrible. Those monsters were growling, grunting and moving in random motion wherever they could see any living person running away. The most scary thing that they noticed was that the number of those blood craving Zombies had increased furiously. They could see clearly that their number had become around 4-5 times of themselves. In the beginning, it was only 4-5 Zombies when they first saw those creatures on the beach but now, it had become around 20 or more and that too they were able to see through the window. They had no idea, how much their number had gone up or where the rest of those monstrous creatures were! The only thing they could see was that the entire area was covered in blood and body parts of humans spread here and there with blood still oozing out from them. Seeing this, they were again filled with horror and a feeling of terror ran through them.

"Where did they come from first of all? How is it even possible? Zombies in today's world!"Juliet startled.

"That's what I am thinking! How is it possible? What could be their origin?" Peter said with curiosity.

"Does it matter now? They came from nowhere and now we are all going to die here. There is no escape from them." Said Sherlin sighing.

"We should not stay here idly. We should look out for something which could help us in our survival." Said Peter courageously.

"What should we look for? We can't fight that thing! It's better we stay here. We are safe here." Sherlin said cautiously.

"We are not safe here! We can't be safe here for long! Their numbers are increasing with each dying person. The more their number becomes, the more rapidly they will increase in number even more!" Peter said warning his friends.

"And once they become over-populous, the gates will not be able to stop them. So we have to look for something which could help us in our survival." He added.

"He is probably right. We should be doing something. Just staying here won't help us." Juliet said to Sherlin in agreement with Peter.

Meanwhile...

"Run faster! Come on! Come this way!"Alex called out Catherine who was having difficulty running.

Alex and Catherine along with a huge number of people were running in the direction of dense forest trying to escape and save their lives from those blood craving monstrous creatures.

"I can't run anymore! I am exhausted!"Said Catherine stopping there for a moment and breathing heavily.

Alex was few steps ahead of Catherine. Seeing her stopped, he stopped too and went close to her and held her hands in his and said:

"We have to move now. You can not give up! Those monsters are following us!"

A huge crowd was rushing towards the forest after whom a group of ever hungry brutes dripping in blood were wobbling and ripping apart anyone who was caught by their bloody hands.

"We can't survive this. We can not escape from them. We are all going to die anyway." Said Catherine crying and breathing heavily, bending her head in despair.

"Look at me! You are not going to die! I will not let that happen ever! Don't be scared! I'm always with you. You understand? You can not give up! Let's move." Said Alex encouraging Catherine.

"Where are we going? There is dense forest that side. There is no place to hide from them!" Catherine said sighing.

"Let's see if we can find something. But we can't stop or rest. We have to move continuously. Come On! Stay with me!" Said Alex holding her hands and they started moving ahead.

Now, they could clearly see the forest was starting not very far from their position. They looked back for a moment as to see if those monsters were still following them and they were not wrong. The group of zombies were too coming after the running crowd. At some distance behind those creatures, they could see the bodies of few men and women lying dead on whom few more zombies were feasting upon.

"Run faster! Come on! Quickly!" Alex shouted pulling right hand of Catherine.

They began moving towards the dense forest at a faster speed. After few minutes of running, they were at the boundary of the forest. They didn't know where they were heading into or what danger it could bring to them but as they had no other choice, they quickly entered into the somber forest and along with them, a large number of people too entered into the dense and mysterious forest.

Meanwhile...

Juliet's Dad immediately went to inform the authorities just after the phone call was cut. He told them all about the phone call and the danger it brought to the world.

"Sir, you are a renowned businessman of our country and we respect you. But what you are saying is not possible and it can not be true all." Replied an Official to Juliet's Dad.

"Sir, I am telling you it's true. My daughter can not lie about such a thing. I am requesting you to take immediate action on this otherwise God only knows what catastrophe it will bring and how many people will become a subject of it." Said Juliet's Dad shouting.

"We understand your concern, Sir! But we can not take any decision only on you concern. But be assured, we will look into this matter and find out how much of this is true, if it is." Replied the official.

"You are not understanding, Sir. This requires immediate action. Oh wait! I can give you the call recording of the conversation with my daughter. May be then you will believe." Said Juliet's Dad.

Saying this, he quickly took out his mobile phone and after few seconds of searching, he got the recording and showed it to the officer. The officer listened to recording very carefully. Juliet's voice filled with terror added to all the screaming and crying noises in the background shocked him.

At the same time, they heard people screaming and yelling outside the Office-building. Hearing those noises, the officials along with Juliet's Dad came outside to find out what was going on. They saw a huge crowd there resisted outside by the State Police, screaming on top of their lungs to save their families and relatives and friends as they too received similar phone calls like Juliet from them.

Seeing this sight, the Head Official had to believe that something terrible had happened there on the Island. He immediately typed an order sending the Force to the Island with proper arms and ammunition to the rescue mission.

But the most concerning and terrible thing was that it was going to take almost 72 hours for the Force to reach the Island. And by then, the officials were worried, if what they were hearing from the people was true, then surely it was an apocalypse and thousands of people will be dead and everything will be destroyed and turned into ruins before the Force reach there.
