Tori's Mansion

The guards kicked the door open in a hurry before freezing. Their eyes widened in numb shock as they stared at the corpse of their boss.

That's right! All of the guards are hired by Nug, none of them are slaves! That also means they willingly torture the slaves!

Some may argue that they are just following orders, but that in itself is disdainful to Tori.

"What the-!? How did this happen!?"

One of the guards suddenly screamed. One had to know that since Nug was actually quite weak and none of the slaves were cultivators, Nug only hired duds.

Duds, meaning humans that had no aptitude. They couldn't even sense Spiritual Qi.

"I'm going to kill you all now."

Tori spoke calmly, and many of the guards didn't hear what he said, but he didn't give them a chance to ponder it.

He jumped onto the desk as he threw his knife into the throat of a guard, jumping onto the shoulders of another as he twisted his neck, pulling the knife out of the other guard right after.

By the time the guards even reacted, two of them were dead!

Tori jumped off of the falling corpse's shoulders and kicked another guard in the temple, killing him with brain damage. Tori kicked off the guard's body backward and landed on another guard's shoulders as he was in the air.

Since he began fighting, Tori hasn't even touched the floor yet, and he's already taken the lives of three people!

He stabbed the guard he was on in the jugular and twisted his knife out, letting the blood spurt uncontrollably as he jumped to the ground as a sword swept above his head.

He lunged before sliding on the floor, slashing at a guard's ankle tendon as he circled around and stabbed him through the back, piercing his heart.

The multiple bodies began to pile into the office as more guards came. Eventually, when at least a dozen of them were killed, the guards caved under their fear and began to flee.

Tori didn't attempt to kill anymore, it wouldn't really change anything. As long as the guards left the mansion, he didn't care what happened to them. Obviously, if they did somehow manage to send someone snooping around, he would deal with it.

By the time the one-sided slaughter was over, all of the maids and yard workers were already waiting in the yard for something to happen. Some of them were contemplating on whether or not to help Tori, oblivious to what happened, but decided not to in the end.

Around half an hour after the screams suddenly ended, light footsteps were heard coming from the mansion's exit. Along with the footsteps, the sounds of something being dragged was heard.

The slaves quieted down as they looked at the exit while holding their breath, not knowing what to expect.

A small shadow appeared along with a lump on the floor. As the shadow was suddenly covered in the light of day, gasps of shock resounded within the crowd.

Tori, drenched in blood, walked out as he dragged the corpse of their Master, Nug.

Tori tossed Nug onto the ground before speaking in a loud and domineering voice.

"Your previous Master has been killed by me, Tori! As your rightful heir to ownership, I give all of you the right to have freedom!"

Tori already knew how slavery worked in the world from his years of living with almost exclusively slaves, and he knew that it was a tradition that the one who killed a slaver would inherit the slaves if there were no relatives or written successors.

And since Nug was narrow-minded and had an inflated ego, he didn't consider him ever dying. He also had no family.

In summary, Tori had single-handedly given both himself and nearly 100 people freedom.

The crowd of now free people were too shocked and dumbfounded to say anything as they stared at the child and corpse.

Tori continued after waiting a few seconds.

"I will take over the mansion and the garden. The guards have either been killed or driven away. Anyone who stays will help clean the mansion or tend the garden. Although this is what you all were previously doing, this time it will be optional, and you will be given shelter, food, and water."

Most of them reacted negatively since they saw this opportunity for an easy life as revolting, due to their prior experiences, and immediately refused in their heads. Some of them considered it but decided to venture into the world and try their luck, while the rest took the offer.

"You will have until tomorrow morning to consider it. Anyone who wants to stay will be in the yard, anyone who wishes to leave will do so. The front door is unlocked."

Tori went back inside without a second thought, the corpse still slumped outside, but Mary, Elder Bo, and Little Rang got out of their stupor and quickly rushed after him.

"Tori, what the hell have you done!? What if Nug's relatives or backers come for revenge? Or the guards come back?"

Mary rushed over and questioned him in a panic, her mindset fixated on the negative outcomes.

"I've killed Nug and multiple duds. Nug has no relatives, no written inheritor, and no backers. The guards are duds and have absolutely no standing in society. No one would bother with what they say and will treat it as horse shit."

The boy calmly took apart her argument one question at a time as he continued walking.

Finally, he stopped in front of two double doors.

He opened it and inside was the food storage. This is where the food for the slaves was kept. Nug and the guards didn't eat from this as the quality was simply too bad.

Tori walked in and scanned it for a while, before sitting down as he did some mental calculations.

The storage room was lined with rows of shelves, and things were kept on every row.

Stale bread, more stale bread, bread, bread... and finally, stale bread. A wide variety indeed.

'I expect at least fifty of them will leave. The food rations are all I will hand out for them, so...'

"Each one gets three pieces."

Tori said suddenly as he was sitting on the floor.

"Huh?"

Little Rang was very confused, but he obediently waited for Tori to say something else.

"I accidentally spoke out loud..." He faked a cough, "Each person who decides to leave will be given three pieces of bread and nothing more."

"Although I'm glad you are so kind to them, I must voice that the end number will be staggering."

Although Elder Bo wouldn't actually debate, he felt that nothing bad would come of putting his opinion out.

"Yes, but they will attempt to re-enter society with the demeanor of a slave, limited experience, no weapons, no water, and also no cultivation. Most of them will be enslaved again or killed within weeks."

Tori said it calmly, but his words were ruthless.

And that's the end of the chapter!

Sorry for suddenly not posting any chapters for most of the weekdays, but doing school and then writing a novel simultaneously isn't something I'm capable of doing... But I should publish at least on Sunday and Saturday! Friday if I'm doing okay!
