The seeker's disadvantages.

Reese reached home with his mate, there was a crowd of people and they seemed to be in some trance. Or was it shock?

When Reese and Millicent heard the alarms, they rushed back to the packhouse as fast as they could. However, looking around Reese found there was no danger at all.

What did this entail?

He looked at his mate worriedly. Does this mean, Linda has done something? "What is going on?"

Hearing his voice the pack members and others got back into their senses, they looked at him in shock. They stared at the person standing next to him and found themselves dumbfounded. It was shocking the resemblance the woman had with Linda, it was so uncanny it just gave you chills. She looked frail but so much like Linda.

How was this possible?

Did this mean Reese broke Linda out of the cells? "Linda?" asked Damien. Reese frowned. What did he mean Linda?

Then it dawned on him, they thought Millicent is Linda, people who didn't know them better, they could mistake them. However, Linda and Millicent were different in so many aspects. This thought worried him, he couldn't help but be wary of how people will treat his lovely mate.

"This is Millicent, Linda's twin," he said looking at his mate lovingly. He could tell Millicent was feeling uncomfortable being addressed as Linda.

After he explained the pack members now understood Linda and Millicent, are identical. However, looking at this woman. They could see she is broken, yet she had an inviting and calming aura around her. This is one of the qualities of being a Luna. The Luna must be able to calm the pack down when the Alpha is in rage. Looking at things now, Mika being the new Luna of the pack. They feared they will never experience a peaceful life.

The girl just spelt trouble, she was going to give them hell.

"That makes sense, she is easy to be around. I don't find myself craving to strangle her," said Sebastian. "I see you were not pulling my leg, really my son is mated with this old man."

Reese laughed. However, Sebastian was not pleased but he supposed, he will let it slide since the woman is his mother in law, and seemed so fragile. "I will pretend I was not insulted at our first meet. I must say, I am looking forward to the future, things are bound to be interesting"

"I thought Reese was joking when he said our oldest has three mates, and you old man is one of them," she said again, her nose was scrunched up.

Millicent didn't hate vampires. She knew some vampires when she was a teenager, but their 'kinds' never got along. It was forbidden to make friendships with them, but she never saw any differences between their kinds. They were all children of the moon. Vampires were the oldest creatures their goddess had created and it was a mistake she had done, but with all mistakes, there are always advantages and disadvantages.

Looking at Sebastian right now, and knowing how ruthless he can be, gave a shiver to Millicent. It was not long ago when they were told stories about him being the baddie and cruellest vampire leader to ever exist, now he is her son in law.

She couldn't help but laugh, their world was really strange. How can Luna pair her son with a great-grandpa? Come to think of it. Where were the other mates?

"Reese where are the other mates?" she whispered to her mate.

Landon and his brother Ray were looking at their mother in shock, and they didn't know how to react. She seemed to not care they were there, or perhaps she didn't know how to react.

Laughed Reese, and motioned for Lucian to come over. He hesitantly took the steps forward, his eyes were glued to his feet.

He was scared to see what happened to his mother in law, he saw Sebastian's past. It was bloody and cruel but he understood it, it was war. He also saw Mika's past, he also understood its brutality and creepiness. Those rogues deserved all the punishment they got, they harmed so many innocent people. Landon's past was not that bloody, he just had a tough childhood. However, he didn't know if he can handle the abuse this woman had to endure for almost two decades.

When he reached the folks, he still didn't look up and he was in distress, his mates felt it. However, Reese, Millicent, his family and other pack members who knew nothing of his abilities thought he was being shy.

"Oh, don't be shy. I am not that scary. I promise I will be the nicest mother in law to ever exist." Chuckles were heard.

Lucian thought 'Woman you have no idea why I am being like this, I don't want to witness the pain and abuse you went through all these years.' His heart was aching to the point he was trembling and finding it hard to breathe, he sincerely hoped he can handle it.

He slowly looked up and their eyes met for the first time, Lucian stood frozen as his eyes got wider and wider.

His face was getting pale and he was heaving, his breaths were coming in shorts. Everyone was shocked by how he was behaving. Some thought he couldn't differentiate between Millicent and Linda, hence he was hyperventilating.

Mika was walking around the forest when she felt her heart aching and her breath coming in short. She knew these were not her emotions, but Lucian's. She reacted first before thinking, she teleported there and within a second she reached the pack, and in time too. It was when Lucian was falling, due to the shock.

He was trembling and his right hand kept on beating at his chest like he wanted to relieve himself of the aching heart. The pain he felt was so overwhelming, it was too much for him to handle. The pain left Sebastian and Landon in a daze. They couldn't react fast enough.

Mika caught her mate in her arms and looked at the people around them with her blue eyes, they were flickering in between the silver-grey of her beast. She was in distress and she was very angry. Her eyes found Sebastian, the fool. How could he let him?

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU STANDING THERE FOR? ARE YOU STUPID? WHY THE HELL DID YOU LET HIM GREET HER?"

She yelled at Sebastian with an authoritative voice that left all the people and pack members kneeling, showing their necks in submission. All yielded to her command, no one was left standing, even the dark knight himself couldn't fight it.

The Golden wolf was enraged.

Whimpers and cries begging for forgiveness were heard, the pack pleaded with their Luna to forgive them and release the command. Mika was seething with anger, she never wanted Lucian to be dirtied by their world.

That bitch Moon Goddess did this to their precious jewel. How dare she play with this pure and kind-hearted child? She turned to look at her in-laws and saw the anguish Millicent was in, Mika's heart softened. She didn't deserve to feel this rage, she has not recovered yet.

This will make her relapse, even though she thinks she is strong and can endure it, she is bound to break down one way or another.

She carried Lucian away and released the command.
