Pilot 1/10

The city had a foggy atmosphere as it had just rained, a boy in his teens was eating a can of beans with one of those plastic spoons you would bring during special occasions like camping trips, or was it just him.

He turned his head around and stared at a viney sign that said 'Bob's Pharmacy' just when a smile formed on his face. "I remember when this place was normal," he said. "I miss old times, ain't that right Aya?" He held a locket and smiled. He carved A and C on the locket. "Miss you, sister."

You might be thinking that his name would be something cool because he had a mask on, wore all black and had these dual blades that were curved, the handles had blue tape wrapped around it.

But no. His name wasn't that cool. If you count Cody in the cool category. Cody was on the roof of a building, it wasn't in good shape considering it having a huge hole at the back. Which he assumed were due to the recent storms.

It's been 5 years since the world came to an end, the concrete was beginning to crack, occasionally you would see these long vines with thorns. Without maintenance the cities will start to crumble.

The cars around the area were covered in red due to rust, however there was one car that looked recent. The car was in the middle of the street, toppled over and it was slightly rusted. "A Black Acura eh?" Cody mutters and finishes his can of beans. He scooped around with the spoon to get the extra beans he had missed.

Once he finished his food he put the plastic spoon in the can and put it in a plastic bag he found on the streets.

He tied it around his bag and went over to the ladder he climbed on to get there. Cody was halfway down the ladder before he looked up, gazing at the skyscraper, the skyscraper had these huge holes in it from when the military bombed the city.

Some of the ladder was broken so there was about a 3 feet distance from the ladder and the ground. Cody hung on the last bar and let go, landing on his feet. The alleyway was empty, he went over to a tipped over garbage can. Cody picked it up and gently placed it down, he untied the plastic bag and put it in. Even after the end of the world he tried his best to do his part in protecting the environment knowing it wouldn't work.

Cody heard shuffles and his eyes darted into the direction of the noise. He saw a few walkers, one was a woman, they were recently infected. You can tell if they were recently infected or not. The girl's skin was grey, when the other ones were slowly decomposing.

Some of the walkers had dried blood around their mouths, where the recently infected one had recently had a meal.

"I'm sorry this had to happen to you." Cody frowned behind the mask before pulling out the dual blades, he exited the alleyway and key'd one of the old rusty cars; he got the attention of the group of hungry flesh eaters.

Cody hopped on one of the rusty cars and slashed one of the walkers necks, causing their head to tilt a bit, he swung again, this time the head came off clean, the body fell but the head still growled.

He hopped off of the car and landed on the walkers head, crushing it. Cody turned around and flicked his wrist, causing some of the overload of blood to splatter on the concrete.

Cody raised both of the dual blades before sinking them both into two of their domes, blood trickled down from the entry wound before he pulled out, brain matter still on the blade.

He turned around and looked at the woman, she was wearing a backpack. "You may have supplies that I need." He spoke to the walker before swinging one of the dual blades, slicing her head in two. That was the last walker that he saw.

It got windy and his black hair flowed through the wind, his hair had purple stripes, meaning he dyed his hair. His hazel eyes scanned the area.

He felt water dribble down from the sky. Cody knelt down and grabbed the backpack. He knew better than to search it in the open, he didn't want a cold like his sister a couple days prior.

Cody was smart, he knew what he was doing. He went over to one of the buildings and knocked, causing dust from inside the building to scatter around. He pulled out his flashlight and shined it at the window. It was empty. Cody opened the door and entered, shutting it. He put on safety glasses.

Cody wasn't the perfect human, he had his own problems. He had Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety and ADHD. He knew he had other things as well but without a proper doctor to diagnose him he couldn't do a thing about it.

He grabbed a dusty chair and sat down, placing the backpack on his lap, searching through the bag he found a couple stale granola bars, a half empty water bottle and a pistol, which only had 5 bullets.

Once he finished searching the backpack he lowered it down. "Thank you for helping me ma'am." He whispered to himself and exited the store.

He looked at the woman's body and frowned, he knew he had to repay her for helping him slip by another day. He picked up her body and went to a field nearby. The field had some bodies of soldiers who tried their best to serve and protect the country.

He found an intrenching tool, which was used to dig trenches. There were a few trenches but they were muddy due to the rain.

He started to dig as it started to pour rain, he continued digging and stopped till he hit 6 feet, he slammed the intrenching tool into the ground and used it to get himself out, he kneeled over and pulled it out. A walker limped from behind and tried to grab him. Cody gasped and swung the intrenching tool, the walker's face slashed open and it fell on the ground. Cody went over to the walker once it tried to get up, he looked away and then at the walker and narrowed his eyebrows down before slamming the intrenching tool into the walkers face, the walkers head split slowly, the body twitching slightly for a few seconds before staying limp.

Cody pulled out the intrenching tool before dragging the woman's body into the grave and slowly and carefully lowered it down. He did this to the recently fallen when he was able too.

He buried her properly and stuck the intrenching tool in front of the grave, he looked around. Cody was proud of himself until he heard a scream. It was another person. "Shit!"
