Her Mother's Tantrums 4.

Just as Lea put her phone down, her father walked in wearing his comfortable home clothes. He looked a bit refreshed than when he got home.

"You look better than when you got home. Looks like the shower worked for you," commented Lea.

"Yes, the shower was wonderful. The food looks scrumptious," her father commented.

"Sit down we will dish up. I will call mom so, we can start eating," said Lea.

Lea went to the kitchen to get her mother. Her mother was standing by the door of the dining table and was thinking about Lea's conversation over the phone. Lea was surprised to see her mother standing and seemed to be in a dazed state.

"Mom what are you doing?" asked Lea in confusion.

"Nothing," answered Lucille defensively. Lea ignored the suspicious act her mother showed. She had decided to forgive her mother, and ask for forgiveness for her behaviour earlier. So, she was going to avoid anything that will start a fight.

"Please come and have dinner, before it gets cold," she said before heading back to the dining room.

Lea sat down on her usual chair dished up for herself, then she looked at her father who was eating the food making moans in appreciation.

"Lea, baby doll. I didn't know you could cook so good," he commented. "Thanks, dad. Aunt Alice always taught me how to, whenever I visited them," she replied.

"I just never got the chance to cook here at home, since mom always told me she loved cooking. So, yeah..." she said with a shy face.

Lucille sat down and looked at the two without saying anything. She started to eat and she was not going to lie, the food her daughter was far better than what she can make. She found herself smiling and appreciating the food. Maybe they should make plans for her cooking on the weekends, this was a good plan. She hummed by herself.

"Your father is right sweety, you're an amazing cook. I am a little jealous, it tastes far better than mine," She praised her.

Even if they fought but she will never hide how proud she is of her daughter.

"So, it's decided. You cook on weekends," Lea smiled. "Sure mom, I would love to," she was ecstatic and she hoped the fight will not resume.

"I overheard you on the phone with Lucas," she confessed. "It is not my intention to make you feel suffocated Lea. I am just worried that's all, I am sorry if I am coming strong on you. I know I have anger issues. So, please when I start a fight just let rant out and cool down because if we both shout at each other it never solves anything," she voices out.

"It's ok mom. I know I was wrong as well. I shouldn't have spoken to you that way, you're still my mother after all. So, I was a little disrespectful," said Lea.

"Also, I want you to never think I am taking dad's side. You both are my parents and are doing a good job raising me. I just feel that sometimes, you overlook things and you can be insecure. This is the cause of the problem, you don't appreciate yourself. Then you feel like we are doing the same as you, which is not the truth. We love you," said Lea.

"Lea is right darling. I don't put the family second because you are everything to me, so it hurts me when you say so. I was really busy today and I knew this problem can be solved when I got home but you got angry at me," said Jonah.

"I want you to voice out what you're feeling without having this anger, then we will see what we can do to resolve whatever the issue may be," Lucille nodded her head in understanding.

"I am sorry, I will try. Please give me some time," she said "Lea, please be careful, boys can be very dangerous sometimes," she advised.

"I know mom, I will be careful," Lea responded. Her father was looking at her in shock.

"You have a boyfriend?" he asked. "No, we just went on a date today. We haven't decided anything, but I always liked him and he is way out of my league for me," she said with shyness.

"Way out of your league? Baby, you're wrong. My daughter is the most gorgeous girl I've seen and no boy will ever be better than her," said her father.

Both Lucille laughed at Jonah's statement.

"Ok dad, I hear you," said Lea. She loved her dad very much, this statement made her heart flutter.

"I am being serious Lea. Don't ever let anyone make you think you mean less than them. If the boy makes you feel worthless and degrade you, baby. He isn't the one for you. He should appreciate every part of you. Do you hear me?" said her father.

"Yes, dad. I will make sure, he appreciates me," she commented.

"Your father is right, sweety. Don't ever settle for less. You're very pretty, intelligent and my daughter of course. You only deserve the best," Lucille boasted.

The true statement there, her mother was one gorgeous lady. Lea was sure her mother must have had many suitors but her father became the victor. She often wondered what they saw in each other, but she never asked.

"Who is this boy that is bold enough to go after my daughter?" asked Jonah.

"I will tell you his name once it's decided if we are dating or not," replied Lea.

"Why are you being so secretive?" asked her mother teasingly.

"I just don't want to be overconfident with this, the guy is very handsome and popular. So, I have to be a little cautious," said Lea. To be honest she still felt very inferior when it came to Aldrin.

The guy was sex on shoes and he was one of the most admired guys in their school and town. So, she knew she had many competitors. No matter what Aldrin might say, others are still into him.

She found herself getting jealous even thinking about this. She hated others look at Aldrin with need and admiration, but it can't be helped. She just has to claim him, and they will not have a chance to steal him from her.

She didn't understand where all these feelings came from but they just kept getting strong as days went by. Her mother offered to do the dishes after they finished eating. Lea left her folks to mend their relationship and whatever the adults do when they fought. She knew they still needed to speak to each other more.
