Jessica never really cared about this Veronica. She nor felt pity for her. She only got herself to blame. Who told her to be so trustfully?
The first day she met Lydia, she knew she was evil. This was the reason why they got along just fine. Lydia might think she was cast out because she was mateless but it was obvious, it was because of her evil nature.
She had a dark heart, she was jealous of others. Her family must have noticed this and they used the mateless excuse to get rid of her. She always had that hatred written clearly in her eyes.
It took her years of practice to hide it. Many people thought it was because of the experience she had. But they were all mistaken. Lydia could do anything to get what she wanted. She was an ambitious person and still is. This made herself Jessica, no different. This is once again the reason why they are so good together.
Jessica wanted to be the most powerful witch to ever exist, and she wanted to defeat those Greens people. They always walked on their high horses as if they owned the world. Jessica hated that clan, this was one of the reasons she wanted to deal with them, once and for all. It could be said this was her obsession.
So, when she heard Veronica's words now, she couldn't help but feel amused. This little bitch loved to make wishful riddles. Though she was not sure what was the little bitch murmuring about she was not pleased.
"Ain't you bold today? Haven't I given you a heavy punishment? Why do I get the feeling like you like this pain? Are you a sadist? You rotting bitch."
It could be said she did not appreciate this she-wolf, though she was a good vessel for her potions.
"Jessica, why must you make up a fuss all the time?" mocked Veronica, "That temper of yours, will be your ending."
She was sure this was going to tick Jessica. Jessica was a sick person, the littlest things made her mad. It was like two people were within her. She would be ok this moment and terrible the next. It wouldn't come as a surprise if she was diagnosed with a multiple personality disorder or even bipolar.
"Shut your shitty mouth, you skunk. How dare you even speak to me?" she seethed with anger.
Her eyes were wide with craziness, "I see you're getting bold now. I will teach you some manners, perhaps you have forgotten your place."
She waved her hand with a vengeance, a fierce whistle was heard in the air. Not long an echo resounded in the air as a whiplashed into the skin. The metallic smell of blood whiffed the air, this was an everyday thing to Veronica. She was long used to this pain. She didn't even flinch but her back ached in misery.
This pain. This pain was worth it. This was to save her family.
She knew Lydia was very ambitious and she was not going to stop with her. She knew it was to be either her mate or children, sooner or later. She had to protect her own, even if it meant she will cease to exist. It was all worth it.
"Jessica, how many times must I tell you? I have long been accustomed to pain. Now it is a second to nature to me." After all, this was her life for more than 20 years.
"However, it seems you forget all the time. I have already told you, just make a stronger and deadlier poison. Then you will get your wish."
To her dying and living had no meaning anymore. The only thing she wished for, was for her family to be safe. Her body was filled with sores and scars. Many of her sores were long infected and now oozed with puss.
The shackles in her wrist and ankles were now attached to her bones. Even if she were to be saved, she will only wish to see her mate and children one last time. If just once, then all of her prayers would be heard. She didn't dare to ask for too much, she even offered her life as a sacrifice. Though she knew she didn't mean much, she was sure the Lord would grant her wishes.
"You bitch," screamed Jessica in anger. She wanted to kill Veronica, but she made a deal with Lydia. Lydia wanted to play with her until her heart's content.
If it were her, this useless bitch would've died a long time ago.
Veronica watched as the ferocious Jessica seethed before her. The darkness in her eyes was like an endless abyss, it looked as if it could swallow people. Veronica found pleasure in seeing them like this. She loved to tick them the most.
What can she say? She just found it entertaining.

In the palace, the King was seated in his crown with his queen. The moment he was notified by Mike what capital offence Lydia committed, he was beyond anger. He felt like destroying the world.
He felt like he failed as the leader, he should've known. He should have seen the signs, perhaps he did but he didn't think it was this serious.
When he ascended the throne, he wanted to do right for his people. He had bestowed those who needed homes with rooms over their heads. He had first planned to only help those with mates, but he soon realised this was not fair. So, he helped all those who wanted help, as long as they wanted to live in a pack.
He could still remember the first time he met Lydia and Oscar, it was obvious they were very different from one another.
One was down to earth though life was never kind to him. The other was very hateful and judgemental, she was vulgar. He remembers he only accepted them because of Oscar.
He wonders, why he never realised they were too different to be meant for one another?
Now looking at this crazed woman kneeling before him. He found himself without words. He was ashamed of his failures but mostly disgusted by how twisted this woman was.
These days he just kept on encountering many problems within the pack, this scared him a lot. He was afraid his son will ascend the crown and soon be faced with many challenges he failed to solve, or even realise were happening under his nose.
Could he have been so weak, that his people took him for a fool?
