"Are you going to talk or must we make you?" asked the queen. As the leader of these people, not only her husband was responsible but her as well.
So, her mate was drenched in guilt, Malia was no different. She could sense the conflicting feelings her mate had. He was in pain, anger and mostly fear.
He feared his people would question him. It was unfortunate that as a leader he was seen as perfection, for such things to keep on happening it was alarming. The people will start doubting his ruling and they will question his abilities.
First, it was Brandon's mother, then it was Julia and her mother, now it's Mike's mother. It was frustrating that all these women were so manipulative. She was also scared, they had to set an example. Though Samantha left on her own the impact was still pending. They still felt Julia's matter was right to be judged by their son and his mate.
However, this was different. It was the worst of the cases they had and it was the scariest.
"I have nothing to say to any of you," said Lydia with arrogance and ridicule.
Mike was heaving in anger. The only thing that was stopping him, was the words his beautiful mate said, "Do not let it consume you"
He was very thankful for these few words, they made him realise he still had more to appreciate in life. He still had his mate, his father, his sister, the pack and the mother he never met. He only prayed they found her in time.
His dad lost it when he heard this woman, they thought was their family speak of their biological mother. He nearly killed her. If the king and beta Austin didn't get there in time, Lydia would have been long gone. Oscar, his father was not a born wolf but turned because of the bite.
This was a blessing and a curse to a person. It only meant, only those who are strong enough can withstand the pain of transition. His father survived and became one of the strongest wolves in their royal pack, hence he was bestowed the gamma position.
"The audacity!" exclaimed the queen. It was very frustrating for everyone. It was something very evil Lydia had done. Many may ask, how was she believed that she had a mate when she was a mateless person?
The answer is simple really. You can have a chosen mate. However, chosen mates are not as bonded to each other as fated mates. So, this would have explained the way Lydia acted around Oscar.
"Guards, teach her a lesson. I think she needs someone to pry in her head, maybe she will know how serious this matter is."
Malia still couldn't believe there was someone so heartless, to steal someone else's mate. She has seen many things in life, but this was by far the worst. The worst part is manipulating Oscar to believe she was his mate, then take him to mate with his fated mate without him knowing.
"How can you be so vicious? Couldn't you have chosen a mate and leave someone else's mate alone? What had the poor girl done to you to do such a thing to her?"
The elder of the royal pack asked. She was distraught and shaken. No one would've thought someone would do such an evil act. In her years of living, she has seen many appalling things but this took the cake.
"Why?" Laughed Lydia "What right did she have, having a mate?" she asked, hatred was heard in her voice and seen in her eyes.
"She is a lone wolf. How can a lone wolf have a mate and I don't get one?" She asked with a crazed look in her eyes.
One had to understand these were two different things. Being mateless means your mate died whilst young or was stillborn. Lone wolves were not meant to have mates. However, once in a lifetime some were lucky. This was seen as a miracle.
This was one of the main reasons everyone was distraught in Veronica's place. Others knew the impact of losing one's mate, as Lydia would know as well.
"So, I rectified the mistake they made. I should have a mate, not her. I am the one deserving of a happy life, not her. How can a lonely bitch be more important than I?"
They were speechless.
This was the reason, she ruin everyone's lives? How can someone be so irrational?
"So, you hate her because she was lucky enough to get a mate though she is a lone wolf?" asked the king in shock.
"Of course, what else? I wanted a luxury life and I saw an opportunity, so I took it," she said without shame nor guilt.
"Are you serious, right now? You ruin someone else's life, yet you feel proud about it?" said another elder.
"So what? They ruined my life as well. Why can't I do the same?" she asked with a smirk, "Why should I be guilty? This is life, every man for himself. I had to survive and she was an obstacle. So, I dealt with her. That's that and nothing else."
Speechless.
Indeed this Lydia was a lost cause. They couldn't understand such a psycho person. Perhaps this was how mental people thought, they saw things differently.
"You are a lost cause. It is very clear now. Your family didn't cast you out because you were mateless, but because they saw how evil you were." said the king.
"It is clear they used it as an excuse, they were right to abandon you. You are nothing but a vile thing."
"FUCK YOU ASSHOLE. I WILL KILL YOU MOTHER FUCKER. How dare you?" screamed Lydia "I will kill all of you." she threatened.
While she was emotional, the queen motioned for Gina the interrogator to pry in Lydia's mind. The intrusion was so sudden, Lydia had no time to guard her memories and mind.
There Gina saw and experienced all the things Lydia had done to Veronica. The worst part of being an interrogator was experiencing the pain the victims went through. This was the worst of all that Gina had to go through.
The hate and irrational thoughts Lydia had, would haunt her for the rest of her life. She couldn't help herself but cry. They lived in Louisiana, Woodworth. There is a place called Indian Creek Recreation Area, not far from them.
So many people do some camping in that forest and have some fun most of the time, but they had no idea there is a hut in the vicinity. This was because there was a boundary.
Jessica set a boundary and everything was hidden as if there was nothing and they couldn't hear anything happening there. It was in plain sight but very hidden. It was also not far from them. She couldn't believe it.
