Lydia tried very hard to stop Gina from getting the answers, but it was futile Gina already learnt everything. Though she was an interrogator, Gina was born from the witch clan. Her family clan was the same as Jessica's, they were considered cousins. She knew how evil and maniac Jessica was. This was the reason, she was kicked out of the clan.

"I know where she is," she said with sadness in her voice.

"I am not sure if she will live, her condition is not good. You have to hurry," Gina was sobbing at this moment.

How can they do such things? They were even cruel than animals. They were evil, monsters. She could not comprehend how another being acted so brutal to the other.

"Gina what is the address?" asked the queen.

So Gina recited the address to them. They were all shocked to know she was so near all this time. This also explained why they never suspected something fishy with Lydia's actions. After all, she could just make an excuse she was going in town and find a way to get there.

The king sent the warriors to rescue Veronica.

There were always campers around the hut and Veronica could hear them all the time. The first time she heard them, she cried for help until her voice was hoarse. But she found out they could not hear her.

This was of course before she knew who kidnapped her. She still remembered that day, as she was roaming around with the people she thought were her friends. They were having fast food and laughing none stop.

She was so happy, and it was the day she was going to tell Oscar he was her mate. They had convinced her to tell him, but they overheard some people talking about the king giving refugees homes.

It was said, one had to have a mate to get the opportunity. As a lone wolf, she had no home. She was so happy, that she failed to see the hate in Lydia's eyes. Back then, she thought Lydia was sad because she was not going to get the opportunity, but she was wrong. The hate and sadness she saw were because Lydia was jealous of her and she was having evil thoughts about her.

Then Lydia came with an excuse they had to get some clothes for Oscar and stuff. Veronica was ecstatic her friend was this supportive, but she should have known better.

She was not sure what happened next until she woke at that deserted hut. This was later, of course, their mockery was written in their faces.

"Did you think, I would let you have the best life?" asked Lydia.

"I don't understand why you had to have a mate and I don't. I mean you are a lone wolf and I am normal. Why did I have to be mateless?" she was angry.

"So, I am going to take that pathetic mate of yours and live the life you could have had. This will teach you a lesson. How dare you think you have a right to have a mate?" she said with hatred.

Veronica was in shock.

"What are you saying Lydia?" she asked in disbelief.

Had she been so blind not to see these people were this irrational?

Laughed Jessica, "Stupid bitch. Can't you tell she's keeping you hostage and you will serve as useful for the needs of breeding and a source of my potions." sighed Jessica in disappointment.

"Though it will be after some years, I am willing to wait," she said with an evil smile on her face "Say, Lydia, how many mutts will she have to bore until I have some fun?" asked Jessica with annoyance in her voice.

"Two mostly, that will be enough," she said with a smirk and evil intent.

These were very painful memories for Veronica but she always maintained her dull look to hide the lost look. She was in darkness and the numbness in her heart was humongous. Though she felt soulless and shell, she still yearned to see her family.

Jessica left the hut not long ago, she needed some herbs for her potions. She seemed happy earlier, apparently, she had some breakthrough and couldn't wait to test the product on Veronica.

If she had known, she wouldn't have left because when she gets back. She will not only find Veronica missing but all her hard work, gone.

The King already made contact with the people who deal with wildlife and always checking up on the campers. They were notified to leave the vicinity because there was something dangerous in the woods. Not many humans knew about the supernatural but those in higher places knew, this way, it was easier to protect the people.

It was quiet when the royal pack got to the Indian Creek Recreation Area, they went to the coordinates Gina gave them. As she said, there was nothing that could be seen by the naked eye. Luckily Gina's son who was one of the pack warrior members was both a wolf and caster, was there with them.

He recited the breaking boundary magic spell his mother thought of him. Gina was the strongest witch in her clan and this cousin of hers was just below her.

Jessica was a jealous person and she wanted everything to be hers, hence her going the wrong path. Which is why she is doing black magic. The boundary broke and the hut was seen. They were welcomed with the stench of a rotten human, urine and excrements, they could also smell old and new blood.

They walked in worriedly to the hut, they were walking on a thread. They were not sure if it was safe in there, many traps might be set.

When they entered the room, they were in shock at what they saw. In the hut, there was a woman who was chained. The smell of rotting was coming from her. She was so thin the bones could be counted on her body.

Her hair was long dark and dirty, it was knotted because it wasn't combed for a long time. When they entered, she didn't move and they couldn't tell if she was alive or dead.

The smell of puss and defecation was overwhelming for the supernatural, they had a sensitive sense of smell. They had to endure it though. The horrible sight was appalling and they were disgusted with what Lydia had done to this person.

As they got closer they realised she was still breathing, though it was very weak. They were shocked with the scars and wounds on her back, the whip seemed to have torn her apart. They could see her bones, the chains were long implanted in her wrist and ankle bones. They were embedded together, they couldn't take them off. If they did, it would disable her forever.

This was beyond evil. They had never seen such a sight. They were all men and women who experienced wars, they had seen packs being annihilated. However, this was the furthest to be so inhumane. They found themselves tearing up.

"Mam, are you okay?" asked one of the warriors.

Veronica chuckled. It paid off. Her efforts paid off, she endured the pain and now she was rescued.

She knew though she was going to die sooner, it was ok. It was ok because she will soon see her family for the first time. Just once and then she can die peacefully. She wanted to let them know, this was not their fault. Especially Oscar, her dear mate.

"Yes," she answered with a hoarse charging voice.

"Please bear with us? We will try getting you down and it might hurt you," said Oliver.

"Don't worry darling, this broken soul is used to pain. I have long stopped feeling any, so go ahead. Worry not about hurting me,"

Though this was not Veronica's intention. It broke their hearts when they heard her. They could only imagine the pain she must have gone through, to be so numb now.
