Of course, when the spell is broken, the caster will feel it. This was the case for Jessica as well, however, she was very far away from the States.
She outburst in fury, "No."
A blast of fire combusted on the mountain she was currently on. She teleported to China earlier, as they had the most resources with the natural herbs. She loved what they could produce.
This was the main reason she couldn't teleport back faster. This was because it was a great distance from where she currently was and the States. She needed time to recoup her strength. This was indeed a lost cause, her guinea pig will be long gone when she returns.
Whilst she was seething in anger back in the States, the royal warriors managed to get Veronica down from the roof where she was hanging. The warrior who had her in his arms was surprised by how weightlessness she felt. It was like he was holding a newborn child.
He found himself tearing up again. Many would have convulsed in disgust with the smell coming off her, but he was now used to it. After all, this poor woman did not wish for this to happen to her.
It was apparent some people were just pure evil, with what they've seen today. This was evident enough for them. Oliver saw the condition Veronica was in and decided it was best to take her back first and leave the others to deal with the hut. So, he took her in his arms and teleported to the royal hospital.
"Someone help, please call Doctor Kosek here," shouted Oliver in urgency.
The noise made by the chains alarmed and attracted all the pack members, and staff in the royal hospital. Oliver took Veronica to an empty ward and he placed her on the bed. He was worried it would be too late before the doctor could reach, the worry was written on his face. He could feel her soul drifting away slowly, she was giving up.
This cannot be, they have to save her. This woman deserves a chance to experience a better life. If she dies now, wouldn't all the pain she went through be all in vain?
Fate wouldn't be so cruel, right?
Oliver linked the king when he got back to the royal pack. The King looked at Lydia one last time, "Put her in prison, for now, we have to check how Veronica is. She was sent to the royal pack now." The King relayed the message to others.
"NOOOOOOOOO" screamed Lydia in anger.
"HOW CAN THIS BE?" She was sure Jessica would have dealt with the bitch the moment she felt the wolves coming. She wouldn't betray her, this she was sure about.
What must have happened for the bitch to survive and be rescued?
"You are lying," she screamed as she was carried to the cells. No one paid attention to her. they were all focused on getting to the hospital in time.
Veronica looked at the young man before her and smiled. Her son must be younger than him by a few years.
"How old are you, child?" she asked. Though her voice was stretchy and hoarse, it was still very pleasing to the ears. Oliver looked at the worn woman in bed, a tear flew down from his left eye.
"I am 21, Mam," he answered with a smile on his face.
Veronica nodded her head.
"You don't need to feel sorry for me, I am okay with the situation I am in. I know it is not fair to my mate and children, but this is a reality we all have to accept." She sighed with a breaking heart.
"Even if I manage to live, I will be nothing but a burden to them. The chains will need to be cut off me, this will leave me with no hands nor feet. So, it will be a necessity for me to be bound in a wheelchair. On top of that, I will always have a weak immune system. The poison in my body is far too gone to be cured. The world is cruel child, but we have to accept this is the way of living and survival. My torment was a way to enlighten others of such this happening. So, I am content as I know others will have a better life because of my experience."
Oliver looked at the withering woman with respect and admiration. She was like a flower that was losing its living force, whitening slowly. It was very painful to watch but this was a situation that couldn't be avoided.
Indeed life was too cruel to this wonderful woman.
"Let's not wallow on what could have been and what couldn't have been. Life is too short and should go on, all I want is to see my family just once. I know it is cruel to them but I have some things to say to them."
Mate bond is a profound thing, especially when easily accepted. The moment you acknowledge and accept your fated mate for who they are, you become one. It was as easy for Jammie to feel and know that things were not going well at the royal pack. If he was correct his mother in law must have been found by now, the pain his mate was going through was excruciating.
"I am sorry to interrupt, but I think you need to go home." Jammie found the courage to approached Aldrin and his friends.
"What do you mean?" asked Brandon in confusion. To be honest he found Jammie a bit weird, since this morning.
"Mike needs you as his friends now. He is really in pain and I cannot help him now. You guys are the only ones at the moment," he said in one breath.
"What is happening?" asked Aldrin.
"It is not my place to say. All I know is that he needs you right now." He left after saying that, leaving them no room to interrogate him further.
Aldrin looked at Jammie's back with a frown and linked his father.
"Dad, is Mike alright?" concern was evident in his voice.
"No, you must come home to console him. Things are bad here, son." Answered the king, he then cut the link without further explanation.
"Let's go," the abrupt reaction from Aldrin got Brandon to be very alert and worried.
Driving home was going to take long, hence they headed straight for the woods. Not long after they were out of sight, they transformed into their majestic wolves.
Being lycans was different from normal werewolves. They were bigger, faster, scarier, beautiful and supreme. They ran headed to the royal grounds.

"Jammie, what is the matter? Is everything okay?" asked Lea with concern.
She couldn't help but feel uneasy, Lea hated lies. Since she was a child, she knew right away when someone lied to her. Though this ability seems to fail her when she's with Aldrin, this was obviously because of her insecurities.
"I am sorry Lea, I am not in the right to tell you. All I know is that Mike is not in a good space. Please forgive me, I cannot explain what is happening right now. This is the better way than lying to you."
Lea smiled at Jammie, though they knew each other recently. Lea knew he was being sincere and he was in great pain. This was all she needed in a friend, as long he was truthful and sincere, she was fine with it. Whatever was going on with her secretive friends she never felt they didn't trust her, but they couldn't tell because of the obligations.
Lea was never the one to blame others for following orders.
"It's okay Jammie. Remember I am used to this kind of thing, Lucas is no better than you. I will be waiting eagerly to know in the future. All I need right now is sincere friends, I can never blame you for following orders."
Both her friends looked at her with guilt and gratitude.
