Ch. 83 Civil War

-Kara-

"Kghk*" I grit my teeth

He's joking..

There's no way Historia..

I tug on my chains

There's no way

This isn't happening.

No, not again

I didn't even get to see her..

I was supposed to be by her side right about now but..

I tug harder

I decided to stay here

This is all my fault..

Instead of being at her side..

"Dammit," I grumble

"Easy there tuff guy" he sets the barrel of his pistol on my forehead

"DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT" I tug harder and harder till I finally manage to dislocate my wrists

"S-stop that!" Floch shouts nervously

"I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!" I tug so hard that I finally managed to rip my hands off, finally freeing myself

"S-son of a-" he steps back

I bite down on the barrel of his pistol

I tilt my head just as he pulled the trigger and the bullet shoots right through my cheek

I quickly slam my elbow onto his jaw knocking him on his ass

I lounge on top of him and I pull my arm back behind my head as my hand finally grew back

But before I could smash his face into the ground I felt something slam into my side

And then again

"Aghk*" I gasp before falling back against the pole

I hear two more gunshots and they were followed by a sharp pain in my shoulders

"Wh-what are you doing, Yelena?!" Floch shouts

"Calm it Floch, this won't kill a creature like him" she says before another soldier knocks me out with the butt of their rifle

"Mommy, mommy, look what I made, mommy" Hestia bursts into the room after I had changed Poseidon's pampers

"Oh wow what a beautiful… snake" I take the page she held up to me

"It's the great dragon Shenlong, the one that helped Ignia fight.. um gwandpa…"

"Oh yeah I see it now," I tilt my head finally seeing the resemblance to Shenron

"Who told you those stories?"

"Uncle Oceanus did" she plays with her dress

"Is that so?"

She blushes

"Mommy, how was Ignia like?" She changes the subject

"Oh.. well… he was very strong"

"Was he stronger than.." she looks around "Cronus?" She whispers

I give her a little smile

"Hehehe* awesome" she giggles

After our last meeting Hisoka took me to speak to the Oracle

He said that it would detail everything Kara has been going through these couple years and even predicted future events up until him being captured in his hometown but that's where it ended

I have to do something

Anything

Knowing he has no control over those… those evil thoughts..

It pains me…

"Mommy?" I hear Hestia

"Yes, darling?" I crouch down beside her

"Wh-when can we see daddy?" She asks, for the millionth time

"Hestia, baby" I set a hand on her cheek

"I-I really miss him, you think he's okay?"

"Yeah, your daddy is doing just fine on his own" I give her a weak little smile

"You're lying again, mommy" she tears up

"What?"

"I can always tell when you're lying, mama" she grabs my hand and rubs her cheek

"Listen, I've already told you we can't see papa, okay?"

"W-well" she lets go of my hand "he's your papa too isn't he?!" She puts her foot down "shouldn't you be worried also?!"

"Hestia!" I shout "Mind your tone.

"What?! it-it is true, isn't it?"

"Who told you that?" I pull her into my arms

"I-I heard you talking l-last time you went with Oceanus" she admits

"You were spying on us?"

"I wanted to know too… I r-really-really miss daddy a-and I want to see him really badly too" her voice trembles

"Aw, babe" I caress her hair

"Just give it some time," I pull her back "I pinky promise we'll go see him one day" I hold my pinky up

"Promise?" She asks

"Mhmm" I nod

"You better not be lying mama" she raises her pinky

"You know I'd never break a pinky promise" I grab her pinky with my own

"Okay, mommy" she giggles before I give her a little peck on her lips

"You're so cute, mamas" I squeeze her cheeks before I sense someone behind me

I quickly turn around making sure Hestia was safely behind me

"Hisoka, what are you doing here?"

"Just enjoy the cute mama and daughter thing you two got going on," he smiles "you know, you're really good at it, considering our mamas left when we were young of course"

"What do you want, Hisoka?" I ask again

"I just came to let you know we're all worried for Kara, you're not the only one. And don't worry about your little squirt. I'm sure Oceanus noticed Hestia peeking so don't worry about it"

"Yeah, I'm sure you're right.. still, it doesn't change to fact that you're all just sitting around, hoping he'll com back alive"

"That's not true" his tone switches to a more serious one "look, I've been meaning to go check up on him for a while too"

"Really?! Take me with you!!" Hestia jumps at him but I stop her at mid flight

"Calm down, Hestia" I set her back down beside me

"Awe" she frowns

"Look, I'm willing to take the three of you with me if you're interested" Hisoka says

"Really? What makes you so confident that Oceanus won't try to stop us?" I ask

"Look, you know how creepy the guy is, he probably already knows were bound to go visit Kara sooner or later"

I mean he's right

Knowing Oceanus he would've walked in on us and told us to forget about it by now

"Fine," if anything goes wrong I can always use the Kai technique to bring us back here

"Yay!" Hestia jumps up and down as she claps excitedly "let's take Poseidon!" She reaches into the crib and throws Poseidon over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes

"Hestia, set your brother down" I

"Aww," she frowns before letting him stand on his own

"Hehehe," Hisoka giggles as we all teleport to the edge of Othrys where Kara had fallen off the edge

"Now let's-" Hisoka stops

"Go see daddyyyyy!" Hestia shouts

I looked over at Hisoka wondering why'd he stopped all of a sudden….

"Oh… poo" Hestia frowns

"It's a pleasure to see you as well, Rhea" Oceanus hovers over the edge

"Oce-ceanus.. hehe hey, wassup old man" Hisoka chuckles nervously

"I figured you'd all show up eventually." he sighs

"Listen, you can't keep us from seeing him forever, it's bad enough you don't even let us tell Coeus and Mia he's still alive" Hisoka says

"I already told you, the less people that know the better," Oceanus says "furthermore I don't appreciate the lot of you going behind my back and thinking you could go off on your own"

"It's just that…we're so worried y-you never got to talk to him o-or get to know him like we did" I say

"I know that" he sighs "that is why I've decided to watch over you,"

"What really?!" Hisoka jumps

"Not you," Oceanus glares, "though I do have one condition, and it is that you refrain yourself from directly contacting Kara,"

"Wh-what? Then what's the point in even going down there?"

"You may see him, although I doubt you'd be very pleased in the state he'll be in, but the moment you tend to his wounds is the moment I will be bringing you right back"

"What? Why?"

"Please remember he is training, the more pain he endures the stronger he will become"

"R-right" I sigh

"H-hey, were you serious about me not going?" Hisoka asks

"I know that you've heard Cronus has been meaning to talk to you, putting him on hold like that only makes it more likely that he'll find out" Oceanus says

"Wh-what does Cronus want him for?" I ask

"He wants to train him, so that he can hunt Kara down once he 'resurrects'" Oceanus says

"Yeah, it's a real drag, but I doubt I'll be needing much training to beat that oaf anyway" Hisoka sighs

"Hehehe, bye bye mister Hisoka" Hestia smiles widely

"Hehe, you think you're real funny, huh kid" Hisoka smiles sarcastically

"Nyahhh," Hestia sticks her tongue out

"Well off you three go, Cronus should be distracted with Hisoka for a while but still try to be wary, okay?" Oceanus says

"Hehe" Hisoka giggles "you're crazy if you think I'll miss out on this" he jumps over the edge

"Hisoka!" Oceanus growls

He was about to go after him before something stops him

"Hehe" I giggle

"M-mommy?" Hestia tugs on my dress

"Yes ma-" before I could finish I notice the yellow aura surrounding the three of us

"Wh-what's happening?" I ask

"Y-you're being.. summoned…" Oceanus says in disbelief

"S-summoned?" I ask

Oceanus nods

"B-By who?" I ask

He looks back down at Gaia

"Don't let go of your children" he says

"What? N-no don't let them take me" I reach out for him but he suddenly vanishes

After we took over the train we head straight for Holst where our comrades were waiting for us and then we made sure to crash the train into the harbor so that Eren wouldn't be able to take it once he arrives

"What is it?" Levi asks, seeing my right arm wouldn't quit shaking

"I-I'm not sure"

"Well, we still haven't thought of a way to keep the districts from going to war" he sighs

"This can get real bad depending on how discreet they plan to keep Karas treatment" Armin says

"Yeah, but according to the information Colt got from Pieck, Kara has the ability to keep them from transforming. So we're safe to assume they'll have trouble coming back, especially with the entire continent looking for them" Levi says

"Still that only gives us about a week at the very most, it isn't nearly enough time to break into a district where even the citizens are our enemies" Armin adds

"God, this is looking really bad" I close my eyes

"What do you mean, Falco?" Hange asks

"There can only be one way to go about all of this,"

"And what would that be?" Levi asks

"We're talking about tens of thousands of people in each district," I say "every one of them has been caged up since the day they were born"

"Nobody has anything to lose," Hange says

"Everyone's ready to die for their beliefs" Levi follows

"This sounds all too familiar," Levi looks up at Hange

"Y-you don't mean.." Mikasa says under her breath

"Wait wait wait, I-I'm not following" Connie says

"We have to send a full scale attack into Shiganshina" I say

"What?! That's just crazy!" Jean slams his hands onto the table

"Yeah, how can something like that even cross your mind?!" Connie shouts

"We are very limited in options, it can take us months to prepare for a battle of that caliber, but we only have a week" I say

"What?! Falco, you can't be serious!" Jean growls

"P-please there has to be another way, commander Hange" Connie says "we can't just brew a war with our own people that's.. that's unreasonable it-it's.."

"Reckless.. it's all a gamble, as it's always been," Levi finishes "but I'm afraid Erwin would agree with Falco"

"By taking their King hostage they have declared war on his people and the Government who oppose them" Hange says

"With a move that big a Civil War is inevitable" Levi adds

"Now it's our job to make the first move," I say "do we wait till Eren arrives and takes the founder for himself, or do we launch a full scale counter attack and bring Kara back into power?"

"I-I mean…" Connie thinks "what if we just let Eren…" He stops

"What?!" I growl

"Eren and Zekes euthanasia plan is plain stupid and selfish." Levi says

"Eren wouldn't go through with it and you know it!" Jean shouts "he's probably just using Zeke to take the founder's power before he can!"

"Then what's the point in Eren even going rogue in the first place?" Hange asks "Eren isn't as stupid and selfish as to go against Kara just because he wants to be the one to rule over the nations"

"What he wants is mass genocide," Levi says "we all saw how much he changed after Kara left, he wants burn this world to the ground"

"I-I know, but I mean look at Kara! Look what he's done to Sasha!" Connie shouts "he's a monster, should we really let something like that rule over our 'Utopia'?"

We all look at eachother

Everyone of us agree

But we really have no other choice

"If you've been with him for as long as we have, you'd really see a glimpse of what he's gone through" Levi says

"Y-yeah" Hange clears her throat "we've all seen his body covered in scars, but what really goes on in his head we'll never know,"

"The man has always been afraid to even fall asleep because he knew he'd just suffer more" Levi says

"Look we aren't trying to justify what he did, cause it was horrible," Hange says "Sasha knew better than every one of us exactly what he was capable of and she still saved him"

"Think of why Kara really decided to trade himself in for all our sakes, he despises himself more than we could ever know" Levi says "hell, I bet the crazy bastard's enjoying every second they spend inflicting pain upon him"

"Just please try to understand, Connie" Hange sighs

He doesn't answer

Fathers ideology of enforcing human rights and basic law isn't ideal, but in the time we're in its the only way to help us move forward and move even beyond the borders of our continent

"Alright, so first we have to ensure Queen Historias safety" I say

"Right, but we still need to find a way to prepare everyone for Shiganshina" Levi says

"Ah yes, you can leave that to me" we hear in the back

We all quickly draw our weapons

There was a man wearing a cloak with the hood over his head, sitting on a chair in the back of the room

"How did you get past security?" Levi asks

"Impressive, don't you think?"

"Who are you?" I ask

"Look, think of me as a very.. very old pal of your father…alright?" He smiles
