Ch. 130 Sozin's Comet

"No-no, honey. You couldn't have possibly known." Sasha reassures me, a child cradled in her arms

"I still haven't fully grasped Fire bending."
"And he can seriously sharpen his earth bending," Toph pats her fists
"Not to mention water bending" Katara adds
"What? You think Ozais going to twiddle his thumbs and dance around a pretty little fire with the comet's power?"
"He's right, Aang. My father plans to end the war for good with the comet." Zuko agrees
"I-I know but-."
"No, you don't." Zuko stands up "he's going to annihilate everything. Every Forest… Every Crop… Everything. Don't you understand?"

"I… I didn't know."
"Of course you didn't." I lay back "you still haven't decided whether or not you're going to kill the guy."

"Aang?"

"W-well have you?" Katara asks

"This… this is a life, we're talking about. Who gave you the right to decide whether or not you can take it away." He glares at me

Before anyone could step in and break the tension he lunges at me
The same instant I jumped back, onto the porch, and caught his fists
"You're weak, Aang. As weak as ever!"
I slam my knee on his chin
Before he'd soar through the sky I grab his ankles smash him through the wooden floor
He coughs and gasps as I crouch down and grab his throat
I pull him out of the rubble and I hold hold him up for everyone to see
"If you haven't yet accepted what has to be done then don't even bother showing your face." I toss him aside
He lands on his feet
Katara tried to comfort him but he quickly took off
"Aang! Katara shouts, "c'mon, we have to-."
"Leave him." I stop her before she'd take Appa and everyone after the boy
"He has to make up his mind. Better that than he hesitates during the battle. We should be getting ready ourselves"
"He's right, Katara." Sokka sighs

I leave them to sulk as I went off to find Odin
"Odin." I call for my pup
After not getting a response I walk around the fence. Only to find him lying inside a hole he dug in the ground
I sigh
"You alright old boy?"
"Mmh." He whines
"I know, boy." I sit down by his snout
I'm tired of this too
"You don't have to worry about me anymore, boy."

"I have Rhea, Hestia, and Poseidon now, remember?"

I woke up beside him the following morning
I took my things from his satchels before leaving him to rest under the shade of the trees
"Are you ready?" Suki asks as I hop on top of Appa
"What about Odin? I thought we were taking him." Tylee asks as I pull her up
"He's staying here, if that's okay with the Prince?"
"Y-yeah, that's fine by me." He nods
We travel up north until we dropped off Zuko Mai and Tylee so they'll take care of Azula as we planned
The following day they dropped me off in Wulong Forest which was a forest of these tall pillars of rock formed by acidic rain thousands of years ago
Zuko said Ozai will first touch land with the power of the Comet
I sat on the tallest rock and waited for the sun to rise on the final day
Just about four hours after dawn an army of warships appeared in the sky
And with it came Sozin's Comet.
The very moment they reached the land Ozai wasted no time in destroying the few plants and creatures below
I hold my hand out
Before I could fire at Ozais blimp I see Yanala and Lala standing beside him
"Right…"
I launch myself straight for the blimp
I slam my fist right onto Ozais chest, sending him crashing him through the battleship as I land beside the girls

"Right…" I wave once more before I hear Ozai storming over to me as the ship slowly fell out of the sky
"You know, I've never trained a day in my life." He tosses his cape and armor aside. "For that I must thank you."
"The very thought of dragging your corpse through the mud encouraged me to seek greater heights!" He opens his arms to the sky
"How dare you. Force Falcos hand, Mess with my Nation, lay your hands on my woman." I pull my hands back
"We've been at war for the past century. What? You think my Grandfather was a saint? You really believe he didn't do everything it took to win this war?"
"He was a greater King than you will ever be!"
"Grahh!" He tackles me over the edge
We punch and wrestle on our way down before I manage to break loose and kick him aside
I catch myself a few meters off the ground before he slammed his fist on my face
I stumble back before blocking his shin with my forearm
I then slam my feet onto his chest, launching him into the sky as I landed on the ground
I take off right behind just before I slam my knee into his face
He barrels out of the sky before catching himself and lunging at me
We go back and forth with it before he jumped back and he fired at me
I fired Lightning out of my fingertips and it completely obliterates his attack before he was forced to send it back
I tank straight through the lightning, slamming into my chest as I pull my fists back behind my head
He had no time to brace himself before I pound them on his chest and he crashes like meteor into the ground
The air grew cold and thin as I pull my hands forth and unleash a powerful blue flame that engulfed Ozai and the land beneath
Despite the freezing flame Ozai managed to protect himself before blasting off and slamming his fists into my abdomen
He shoots me into the sky higher and higher until the comet began torching my skin
He opens his arms as he absorbs this ultimate power of the comet
"You've underestimated me, Kara." He smiles
"Kgh*" I grit my teeth
He's right. He must've been training at the same intensity that I did. Except he did it for months, no, years.
Even so, I trained hard enough to hold my own
But all these wounds scattered across my body were draining me of my stamina
It was pathetic
I took him for a foolish brat thrusting for power.
"Grahh!" I kick and punch as my fists burst into flames and he dances around my every move
"Kghk*" I choke after he dug his fist into my abdomen
"I knew the day would come!" He pounds his fists on my back and sends me crashing through the ground
I cough and gag as he drags me out of the crater
I brace myself as he bombarded me with his fist
This was it. I had to use everything I had if I want to even make it out of here alive.
The aura around me began flickering as I tried to concentrate through the barrage of his fiery fists
My whole body felt like it was on fire
His fists were so burning hot that they branded onto my skin with every punch
I manage to roll around before kicking him off
I stumble back as he lunged back at me
Just as his fist grazed my skin the lightning infused with my aura enhanced my reaction time and I spun around him and elbow the back of his head
My hair stood on end as my aura snapped and flickered with electricity
"Wh-what is this? A new trick?" He turns around
I take a deep breath before leaning forward
"God Speed." I shut my eyes and leap at him
My left fist and his right clash before I mimic his every move with my instincts alone
Instead of using God Speed at its full potential I match his speed in order to be able to use it for as long as I could
I had to admit
He had me beat in strength and speed but now that I've leveled the playing field on one end it's come down to who's the better fighter
"Agk-gahh?!" He growls after I rocked his jaw with my fist, followed by my elbow and my heel
I duck and deflect his every punch and kick
I kept him on a tight leash, sure as hell that he doesn't overdo it with his fire bending
I was doing good for a while until he got desperate.
He stuck his hands out in front of me before I could rock him in the face for maybe the fiftieth time now
"Kyeh" I smile before he blows me away
I catch myself in mid air as he came at me with everything he had
I manage to dodge and land a few every now and then only for him to blow me away with his flames
My entire body was on fire
The skin on my chest, fist, and arms were quickly melting away. Combined with the injuries I sustained after my play date with Azula I thought I might go insane
I stumble after he slammed me into a rocky pillar before it crumbles on top of me
I dig back up to the surface where Ozai was patiently waiting
"Look at you, some Emperor…" He opens his palm to blast me away
Just before he could finish me off the rock hardens like cement into a small pyramid around me
I cough a puddle of blood all over the ground
"N-not again." I grumble
My ribs
So many of them, cracked, fractured it was only a matter of time till they rupture my lungs
"Kgehehe." I giggle
This is bad.
Really fucking bad
I was lucky the earth around me somehow protected me
It was just like the time the water shot me out of the boiling lake
But why? How?
Is it the same thing that won't allow my wounds to heal after Azula's rampage
What is it?
The puddle of blood began boiling
I just stared at it as Ozai tried to break through the rock from the outside
I dip my hand into the puddle only to find it was bottomless
Very slowly I watched as a little arm like that of a child Hestia's age reaches out
Before I could do anything it digs it's claws into my arm and drags me inside
