Ch. 159 Hunter Exams ii
Pov.
-Cana-
"I can't believe that was a freaking test! I could've had a heart attack." I grumble, flying on nimbus as the Kiriko carried everyone else besides Kara who could fly on his own
After landing in Zaban City they led us to a restaurant that was connected to an underground tunnel.
"So cool. It's like a secret lair." I nudge at Kara who was getting touchy with Mira
"Welcome to the 287th anual Hunter Exams!" Some large fellow offers me a drink
"Awesome, thanks!" I take the drink before Kara smacks it aside with his tail. "What the hell?!" I jump
"Poison? Seriously, fatty?" He glares at the guy who gave me the juice and was ready to hand some over to Kurapika and the rest of the gang
"P-poison?" I sniff the can. "Hey that's right! Can't believe I almost fell for that cheap trick." I pretend to smell whatever it was that tipped Kara off
"You sneaky old man!" Leorio pulls his sleeves up
Gon and I giggle around, watching as they squabble back and forth
"Hmm?" I turn My head after some white hair boy Gons age catches My attention
He had blue cat like eyes
He was about seven inches taller than I was and seemed to be examining Kara
I watch as Kara senses his gaze and turns around to glare back at him
"Hey!" I jump in front of Kara and into the boys face
I bent over just enough to peek My butt and make it seem like I was flirting with the boy.
This'll totally make him jealous.
"I'm Cana, what's your name?"
"Huh? Oh.. uh.. Killua."
"Kill, huh? That's a cool name." I smile
"Y-yeah…" he steps back after seeing My boobs were awfully close to his hands
"And I'm Gon! It's nice to meet you!" Gon giggles beside me
"Gon, huh? You're like My age."
"Actually I'm fifteen, you know?" I puff My chest
"Fifteen? No way, thirteen I believe."
"What?! Heck no, gross. My boyfriend is sixteen."
"You have a boyfriend?" Gon asks
"Sure do, you want to hear about him?" I smile
"What? No way." Killua crosses his arms
"How about we warm up first? The exam should begin at any-." Before Gon could finish I felt an enormous presence behind me.
I felt so scared and terrified all of the sudden, much like the time Kara's aura expanded in the train station
I quickly stumble back to Kara's side to see what was going on
"Wh-what is it?" I whimper
"Hisoka…"
"H-Hisoka? Who's that?" I peak under his arm
Glaring back at Kara was a tall red haired guy the same age as Kara. He had a teardrop on one cheek and a star on the other
His skin was so pale and he had a chiseled physique almost as chiseled as Kara's
They continued to glare eachother down before Hisoka disappears in the crowd suddenly
"What was that about?"
But he just turns around and ignores me
"Whatever." I grumble
The first test began short after, it was a long jog to the next destination
I skip over to Gon and Killua and we talked before the test began
Kara was laid back most of the way, watching Mira and Erzas boobs jiggle around (seriously, it's all the guy thinks about) as they conversated about whatever
Leorio tried to jump aboard of my flying nimbus but he fell straight through it
Gon would have rode with me but he wanted to run beside Killua
I just laid back and fell asleep until then
The second phase was running through a big swampy area
There I began stretching and marching in place after my legs began hurting.
"One-two-three-four-one-two-three-four. kya!" I gasp after finishing up with my 30 minute (second) ab workout
"Why don't you just run?" Killua asks, seeing that I was totally exhausted
"I'll-I'll die." I huff before rolling back onto My belly and sitting up
"What was that about?" Killua asks after seeing that I was looking at Kara
"What?"
"Hisoka. He's weird, does Kara know him?"
"I think he does."
We continue a while longer before it started to become foggy
I backstroke attop of nimbus, through the fog beside Killua as it gradually became thicker and thicker to the point where we could only see each other
I lay on My belly, grasping onto Nimbus with dear life
This is bad. I'm so scared. I shouldn't have separated from Kara. He would've kept me safe!
Or rather, he might've just left me behind.
"Hey, what the hell?" Killua stops
"What?" I turn around
"Where's Gon? Wasn't he right behind us?"
"You're right. Where did he go?"
We look around before hearing someone shout in the distance
"Was that.."
"Kurapika!" I stumble off of nimbus and I hurry into the forest
"Cana, what are you doing?!" Killua shouts as I cut and dash through the trees
Before loosing my breath I finally managed to find what the commotion was about
Leorio was laying on the ground, Kurapika was holding his arm a few meters away and Gon was pulling himself up
I quickly toss a card of My own as Hisoka threw his to finish Gon off
One pierces his card the very last moment and the other transforms into a boxing glove that smashed into his cheek
"Score!" I jump out of hiding
That was so cool. Too bad nobody saw. I frown
"Gh." I grit my teeth after meeting Hisoka gaze
Before I could scurry away he snaps right in front of me within the blink of an eye
"What do we have here?"
"Heheh-hohohoh." I chuckle nervously "sorry I-I didn't see you there." I scratch My head
"That's okay. It didn't hurt, not one bit." He smiles
"W-well I'm glad, but I simply couldn't allow you to hurt My friends!" I point at his face, trying to hide the fact that I was nearly peeing my pants
"Oh yeah?" He tilts his head "tell me. You're the girl that's attached to Kara's hip, aren't you?"
"What of it?"
"In all honesty, I thought you were a child, but seeing you up close now seems to me that you're far from it."
"What because I'm short? Nice try buddy, but I've heard that one a billion times." I cross My arms
"I'm sure you have. Now tell Me, what are you? To him I mean."

"I-I uhh… well you see. It's a little complicated, on one hand we're like best friends. Like siblings almost. On the other hand we hook up every now and then." I shrug
"Oh? Lovers perhaps?"
"I-I mean… if you really insist on calling us that." I twiddle my thumbs
"Here, let Me see." He squeezes my cheeks together and pulls my face in
"H-hey, wait!" I squeal and seal My lips shut as he looks straight into My eyes
"Kgh." My eyes roll back

When My eyes fluttered back open I was back there, in Stella being whipped and beaten by that maniac again
I blink once and then twice before seeing him laying lifeless on the ground and Kara standing over Me
I blink again and I'm filled with an overwhelming pain and pleasure, watching Kara kiss and licking Me all over
I blink again and he was carrying Me out
Another blink leads to him as he watches Me through the cracked door
And another showcasing various women that I've never seen in My life. Each of which were undoubtedly beautiful

"Oh no." Hisoka voice brings Me back "this is something more. So much more." He licks his lips
"Kya! Get away from Me!" I squeal with embarrassment
I stumble away before turning around to confront him one last time

After running into nimbus he carries Me back to Kara who was napping under a tree

I thought it was that… that maniac.
"Hmm." I blush after imagining his head between My legs

After everyone gathered we were taken on a blimp to the top of a tower and we were instructed to find our way down
"Sucks to suck." I smirk "nimbus and I will get to the bottom in no time." I pat my flying nimbus
"Go on. No ones stopping you." Kara waves as I look over the edge
But before I could go I saw a huge freaking bird snatch someone that was climbing down

"Yeah right. Like I'd fall for a cheap trick like that." I back off from the edge
I turn around to find everyone except Kara gone
"Wh-what's going on?" I ask after he taps his foot on the tile in the ground
It creaks and groans
"Wait for me!" I dive between his legs as we fall inside
He wraps his tail around my waist before I'd crack my face on the ground
"Erza! Mira!" Gon and everyone is here too
"Just as I suspected." I smirk as Kara sets me aside
"Shut up." He grumbles
"Hmh." Erza smiles
"Wh-what?" I blush after seeing the look Mira gave me
She pulls his arm in before leading him over to the door where they explained the rules to us for this test
Since I dived in with Kara I didn't count
The 6 of them had to wear a bracelet where they get to decide where we go and what to do with majority rules vote
It was very simple up until we had to fight some prisoners
First it was Gons
He had to keep his candle from burning. Except the prisoner laced his candle with some oil that made it burn faster so he put it down and jumped over to the prisoner and blew out his candle
Second it was Kurapika who took out his opponent with ease.
All the while Mira sat on Kara's lap and stroked his hair with his face buried in her tits
"Pervert! You're a pervert!" I shame Leorio after he gambled seventy hours of our precious time to sneak a peek at his girl opponent
"Alright, who's next?" Killua checks back
"I-."
"I'll give it a go." Kara stretches
"Just be careful out there." Mira claps behind him
"W-wait, maybe you should sit this one out." Leorio says after seeing his opponent
"What? Why?" Killua asks
"This guy, he's Johness the Dissector. The most infamous serial killer Zaban city has ever seen."
"A serial killer?" Erza asks
"Oh please, Kara is a Dragon Slayer." Mira scoffs
"He what?!" Gon jumps
"What? No way." Killua crosses his arms
"Yup, I saw it with my own two eyes." I point at my eye "he has these beautiful wings and everything"
"Wings? What for? Can't he fly as is?"
I shrug
"I would like to make a bet, myself." Kara said as his opponent enters the arena
"What is he doing? Aren't the prisoners supposed to make up the rules?" Gon asks
"Wait… I don't believe it." Kurapika watches in awe
"What is it?" Killua asks
"Yeah, what is it?" I peak from behind him to see what he was looking at
"If I win, without even laying a finger on him then we get all our time back."
"Whoa, that's not how this works, buddy." The girl that gambled with Leorio said
"Yes, I know. That's why if you so much as make me raise a finger you can have the little one back there" he points back at Me with his thumb
"Hey!" I jump
"In fact, we'll all resign from the Hunter exams and forfeit our lives." He shrugs
"What?!" Leorio growls
"You don't get to decide that!" Killua shouts
"Forfeit your lives?" Johness smiles at the thought
"Very well." The speakers surrounding the room ring as the Hunters Examiner speaks "So long as the Johness accepts your terms, the wager is on!"
"Y-you mean… I get to kill… all of you?"
"Do you accept?"
"How could I refuse?" Johness said, but he just stood there like a statue

Kara clears his throat, breaking the silence and gulps something down before turning around, rubbing his eyelids and rolling his eyes
"Aren't you going to fight him?" Gon asks after Kara heads over to us
"Him?" He checks back with Mr. Johness "he's already dead." He wipes a dribble of blood from his mouth
I stumble onto the ring after he walked right past
"What is it?" Killua asks after I crouch down to check for a pulse
He really is… dead.
"Don't tell me you actually feel bad for the guy." He crosses his arms
"I-I." I blush
"He was a killer. A serial killer at that. He deserved to die"
Maybe… but still.
What right do we have to make that decision?
"Look, he's all pale and wrinkly." Gon pokes his face
"He almost looks like he aged a few years."
"Looking into Kara's eyes must've put him under so much stress that his body couldn't handle it." Leorio adds after examining the corpse

After all that we tracked through the rest of the tower and arrived at the bottom about two days later
There we waited another six hours before the time ran out and we were taken by ship to our next destination
"Awesome, what else can you do with your cards?" Gon claps after I showed him a few awesome tricks
"I'm glad you asked." I smirk before Menchi cries in the room over before thumping against the wall
"Jeez, what are they doing in there?" Gon asks as Killua an I exchange looks, beat red with embarrassment
That bastard, damn him.
Cheating on me with another woman…
I ball my fist.
[even though he rarely even acknowledges me]
It's unforgivable, utterly.
The three of us talk a while longer before Gon left to find Kurapika
Killua was getting comfy on his bed when Kara came stumbling out with an empty bottle of whiskey and some shorts that did very little to hide the bulging log in his pants
"Gross, that guy has no shame." Killua grumbles, "hey, what the hell are you looking at?!" He whisper shouts after seeing that I was cupping my hands into binoculars
"Nothing, mind your own business!" I growl
Kara tosses the bottle aside before taking the gallon of water from the fridge
"C'mon, Killua!" I shout just loud enough for Kara to hear
"What the hell are you doing?!" He asks after I tapped a card onto My chest, slipping into a skirt and an apron leaving My back fully exposed
"You should go ahead and run after Gon."
"Wh-what? Why?" He blushes
I smirk before jumping over the catch and joining Kara in the kitchen

Pov.
-Kara-
"What are we doing here?" Cana asks laying beside me
After charming Me in the kitchen I dragged her into bed with Menchi who was asleep
"What?"
"Why do you think we're here?"
"Where?"
"Just… here" she shrugs
…
I look into her eyes, just realizing I was wondering the same thing.
…
Thors and Makarov preached the same thing. Using our power to protect those around us.
But why? That doesn't make any sense.
Using our power to gain more power. That is what it's for. That's the only logical way to go about it.

She flips on her belly and rests her head on My chest
"Why do you think we're alive?" She tilts her head
"Amusement." I sit up
"Amusement, for like God or something?"
"Or someone" I shrug.
"Hmm. Maybe, but I think it's a lot more than that. I think my purpose was to be here, now, with you."

"To take the Hunter exam and meet Master Makarov and everyone in Fairy Tail."
To live for as long as you can with whoever you can.
She embodies the very concept of protecting your own through and through.
No, she goes even a step beyond that and does so to her enemies.
For what? Is it selfishness?
For her own moral conscience?
To do something so stupid even at the expense of her own life.
I've never seen anything like it.
The closest thing I've seen to it is a mother protecting her young.
Even then the actions seem futile, ineffectual, a… complete lapse in judgment.
My body began trembling the more I delved into her eyes, trying to figure her out.
It was only then that I realized just how close she had been creeping closer
My thoughts began fogging.
My eyes were darting all over her face and My heart began beating out of My Chest
It was an odd feeling.
I wasn't aroused. Close to it but instead of yearning for her in a sexual sense, it was something more.
I slowly pull her in
My vision tunneled and all I could see was her wrapped in My arms
