Chapter 15: To the Royal Castle! and A big Revelation! (2/3)

Hilde: "Mm! Thank you, Ace."

She said with a bright smile which made Ace smile at her with the same intensity.

Ace: "Well, as much as I like for this little moment of ours to last for a bit longer, we need to hurry. I still need to meet up with Touya and the others after all, so I'll be speeding us up further, alright?"

Hilde: "M-Mm... I wish we could have... 'a bit more time like this too'..."

She said, but her last words were in a whisper, but Ace heard her clearly, so he smiled happily. It seems that his plan on getting the princess's attention is a huge success, and more so even. It seems that she is already developing feeling for him, or has she already did? Anyway~...

Ace: "Well, we can always do this any time if you like~."

He said with a slight teasing tone on his voice, which caused Hilde to once again flush in embarrassment.

Hilde: "You-You've heard that?!"

Ace: "Hehehe~, yup! All of my physical attributes, even my senses are all enhanced to an almost unimaginable level. Though, I've got full control of my capabilities, so I have no need to worry about breaking things I don't want to."

Hilde: "T-That sounds incredible."

Ace: "Mhmm. But, let's continue this talk later, let's speed up to the castle for now."

Hilde: "Mm!"

With that, Hilde tightened her grip more on Ace, to which Ace smiled and once again increased his speed, up to his current maximum.

A few moments later, they arrived at the castle and immediately made haste towards the throne room to seek an audience with the King, that is, Hilde's father, and his future father-in-law. With Hilde by his side, there weren't any interruptions when they outright stormed through the gates of the castle, besides, Ace's face have been spread all around the kingdom through a portrait that clearly defines his facial features, so he's really well-known, down to the point that even kids knew of his face and name. And~, also the fact that though he refused the nobility that was offered to him, he was and still is being regarded as one.

They were already about to walk inside the throne room, but was greeted by a booming voice that was filled with laughter and amusement and a momentary shriek of a girl.

Upon hearing this, Hilde sighed tiredly and Ace rolled his eyes and looked at the direction the voice was coming from.

They saw an old man with white hair and beared walking towards them with delight clearly visible in his dark eyes. Even though he's already old, his body is still looking like it was in his prime. Yes, this is the previous King of Lestia, Galen Yunas Lestia. The king that was said to have the lineage of a barbarian and the heart of a true king. But for Ace, he's just an old pervert with a serious butt groping fetish.

Galen: "Bwahahaha! Ace-brat! My dear granddaughter! It's so good to see you two getting along~! Tell me, have you two already talked about the date of yo-mphhh!"

Hilde: "Sh-Shut up!"

Hilde screamed as she shoved her hands on Galen's mouth, stopping from spouting and finishing what he was about to say.

Galen: "Mphh, Mphh, mphhh~! Puah~! As I was saying... errr~..."

Galen was able to escape Hilde and was about to continue, but when he saw the fierce look that she's directing at him, he hesitated, before finally deciding to change the topic.

Galen: "Ahem! Anyway, forget that. More importantly... Ace-brat! Where have you been all these days?! You've been gone for a month! A whole month, ya know?! Do you know how bored I was?! And heck, that damned house spirit of yours wouldn't let me go inside of your house! Hell, I was even electrocuted ten times! Ya hear me?! Ten!Freakin'!Times! And what the hell where those tiny canon-like contraptions?! That house spirit of yours used those to attack me! It shot me on my butt! It was so painful that I had to spend a whole day with that damned healer! I could still even feel some phantom pains even now! Tell me, why did it do that to me?! Huhh?!"

Galen ranted on and on about as he shook Ace by his shoulders with an aggrieved face.

Ace: '*Sigh* Why did I stopped myself from instructing my AI to shoot this old man straight on his nuts again? I must have been possessed by something at that time, that's why I took back that command... Oh well, I'll just have to give that instruction again later when I get back, no matter what... but then again, just how thick is this guy's skin that those bullets didn't even deal a severe damage to him? Even though I'm sure that the ones that was used on him were rubber bullets, but still, I thought it would have at least destroyed his whole butt.'

"Hai, Hai~. I was taking a vacation on Brunhild. That house spirit you're talking about is an AI. It did all of that because I instructed it to do so whenever I'm not in the house or anywhere near, which means when I'm away far from the kingdom. Those small Canon-like contraption you're talking about are called machine guns or turrets, some type of gun. And what do you mean you were bored? Didn't I give you a smartphone to use?"

Ace said he pried the old man off of him.

Galen: "What do you know?! My Smartphone could only do so much! I miss the pool, the jacuzzi! The game room! The big screen~! I miss all of the comfort I get when I'm there~!"

He started whining.

Ace: "Can't you just ask your son or the servants here to recreate those things? Like, here in the castle? So that, you know, you won't have to go to my house?"

Galen: "Hais. I did, and they tried. But they just couldn't make it! And besides! As far as I know, you're the only one of the few that I know who can make magic items nowadays!"

Ace: "Huh, you've got a point there..."

Galen: "Right?! So, how about-"

Hilde: "Ehem! Grandfather! Me and Ace have something really important to discuss about with father. And it concerns the future of the whole kingdom. So please, can you catch up with him later?"

Galen: "Oh? Is it about your-"

Hilde: "No! We have to go now, Ace. Come on!"

She said and got ahold of Ace's hand and dragged him inside while blushing up a storm, with Ace just letting himself be dragged along with her with a somewhat amused look on his face.

Seeing this, Galen laughed fondly but quickly schooled his expression and turned serious then followed them in. He might act a little bit too carefree for most of the time, but he's still the former king and also a Gold ranking Adventurer along with Ace and Touya, so anything that concerns the whole kingdom and its citizens is of utmost importance to him too.

Hilde pushed the door open and walked in along with Ace, then Galen just a step behind them.

Hilde: "Father, mother, brother, may I ask for an audience?"

She formally asked her father who were having a talk with her brother along with her mother.

Reid Yunas Lestia, a man of a tall height, good appearance, and strong physique, with red hair and blue eyes. Esther Minas Lestia, a beautiful and elegant looking woman, with blond hair and black eyes, as well as possessing a great figure. Honestly, she looks like a matured version of Hilde. And lastly, Reinhardt Yunas Lestia, a handsome and tall young man that looks only slightly older than Ace by a year or two, with a fiery red hair much like his father's, and blue eyes, similar to Hilde's.

//Author's note: I'm not really sure with their appearances 'cause I have already forgotten about those details, so I just made these up for now to keep your imageries sated and so that you can at least picture something in your minds. I know how uncomfortable it is for some people to read without any kind of "imaginary visual" reference, especially for appearances. You can tell me through comments if you do know the exact details though...//

Ace: 'Huh. Guess both of them got their eyes from their father, then hair, in Hilde's case, from their mother, while Reinhardt from their father, making him look like an identical copy of the man. Fortunately, Hilde never inherited anything from the damned old man...'

He thought and gave a slight glare in the old man's direction, which made the old man flinch a little and confusedly looked around the room.

Reid: "Of course, my daughter. What matter of event that even made you look so worked up like this? And also, care to introduce us your friend..."

He said as he tried to mask his amusement, but as for the other two, her mother and brother, they are just outright showing off their grins with their eyes glowing in slight mischief as they alternated their sights between Ace and Hilde.

Hilde: "Of-of course. This is Ace BladeHeart, one of the three Gold ranking Adventurers bearing the title of Asura."

Ace: "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintances, your highnesses."

He greeted with a slight bow and fist resting above his heart.

Reid: "So is ours. But no need for that. If everything goes well, you'll be part of our family anyway. That is, if you accept."

Ace: "Accept what?"

Hilde: "Fa-Father! Wha-"

Reindardt: "Ay~. My sweet little sister, none of that. Besides, we will be having this talk with him eventually, so might as well have it now that we have to perfect opportunity, no?"

He said with teasing grin and glint of mischief flashed in his eyes.

Esther: "Both your father and brother is right, my dear. This talk will happen eventually, so why wait? As they say, it's best to make do with things sooner rather than later, no?"

Hilde: "Bu-but... I would have really liked this to have come later though..."

Came Hilde's soft reply, but was royally ignored by her father.

Reid: "Ah, Ace. It's like this... You see, the moment your exploits have reached our ears, and by the heaven reaching praises my father is giving you, we have already considered you as one of the candidates that would be introduced to Hilde as her potential husband, what's more, you're on the top of that list."

Esther: "Mm, it's not that our dear Hilde doesn't have a choice for who she is willing to love and spend her whole life with, we our just giving her a little bit of push."

Reinhardt: "Exactly. Because if we don't, based on her character and her tomboyish attitude, we have no doubt that she'll rather choose to spend the whole of her life serving as one of this kingdom's knight than worry about marriage. Do you see where our concerns lies, Ace?"

Ace: 'Wow, they're blunt, like... totally blunt... Just look at that burning flushed face Hilde is sporting... but then again...'

"Mm, I perfectly understand."

Galen: "Bwahahaha! So Ace-brat! Are you willing to be engaged to my darling granddaughter? How 'bout it? You are going grandson too!"

The old man howled in laughter and the whole family looked at him in expectations, even Hilde. Well, most definitely Hilde.

Ace: 'Okay... It seems that I have left a long lasting impression on her... Or... Did she have that 'fell in love at first sight' cliche... Most likely... But, can't say I'm complaining. This is actually the best outcome I'm hoping for!'

"Even though we've only met a few minutes ago, Hilde already left a deep impression in me, more than anyone else for that matter. So if you're welcoming me into your family, and Hilde is willing, then I'll gladly accept."
