Reincarnated in Worthless Honor (2)

I entered the classroom and immediately, I could recognize a few familiar faces as I walk chose my seat, away from the main group, the seat I chose seems to be surround by a bunch of mobs, and it seems like a peaceful sanctuary.

I observed the class.

Sitting next to a window, Mia Verlice, youngest daughter of Master of the Gentle Storm clan in the East, one of main female lead of the story, a cold beauty, though, kind of 'tsundere', Skill: [The Great Surge], specialty: Rapier

Behind her, a good-looking guy with short blonde hair and emerald green eyes, Jun-seo Yoo, the next heir of the Golden Faith clan in the North, Shin's main rival, extremely prideful but, surprisingly, not overly arrogant, skill: [7 Swords of the Fallen Gods] specialty: Sword.

Next to Jun-seo, a gorgeous girl with silver hair, Eliss Alys, she has a royal status of a princess, the royal family 'Alys' governs the central of human's domain, where PRSM is currently located, one of the main female lead of the story, because of her upbringing she was extremely lonely and always longed for freedom, Skill: [Limitless Range], specialty: Bow.

'And lastly,' I turned to the guy with white hair and golden eyes sitting next to me

Shin, titled [The Second Anomaly], granted with the wildcard [Boundless Regression], He w-…

"…" I stopped in my track as I realized something

"Shit!" I jumped out of my seat in horror, "Why are you sitting here as well, damn it! Almost gave me a heart attack"

"I can't?"

The audacity of this fucker…

"No, just surprised…" I have be calm about this.

"Great!" He said with a smile before going back to staring into space

Why is he here? He's supposed to be sitting next to Mia by now…

Is he cautious of me?

The student attention was on us at this moment, so I decided to sit down calmly and mind my own business

The other three main characters were also staring at me strangely, especially Mia. It was understandable as they knew who Shin was.

In truth, Mia was saved by Shin from a grade 8 Mana Beast. While the other two knew him as one who was ranked 1st during the entrance exam, and was naturally curious about me.

Mana Beast are essentially monsters born from normal animals that was mutated from being corrupted by mana. Their 'grade' or ranking are decided by the amount of mana they possess, which often translate into their strength. The high the rank or grade, the more powerful they are.

We sat quietly and waited for our homeroom teacher.

'You know, although these character may cause me more trouble than wanted as of currently, I really am happy I finally got the chance to talk to Shin'

I truly respect and admire him, I really wanted to be friends with him as well, but the situation is different now. I must stay in the shadow and grow if I wanted to preserve my life until epilogue.

If the Origin were to notice my existence, that would be the end for me, my 'eternal death' would be inevitable…

Shin, was a different case, his 'wildcard', [Boundless Regression] automatically activate and allows an [Absolute Reset] in the brink of death…

Even the Origin who had absolute control over Time itself completely is helpless against the [Absolute Reset]

This means that Shin could avoid the eye of the Origin each time he resets, even if he was noticed by it in his last round

Thus, he can avoid an 'eternal death'…

That is why, the least that I can do is try and help him from the shadows to achieve his purpose…

It was then that a tired looking man with long black hair that slightly covered his eyes staggered his way to the podium in front of class

Aldir Hydes… one shouldn't be fooled by his appearance, he is a top-class super-soldier that had participate in the war between Human and Demon multiple times.

The demons titled him, [Asura of Darkness]

"Welcome to PRSM everyone… my name is Aldir Hydes, I'll be your homeroom teacher, I guess… please to meet you…" the man spoke in a monotone before bowing

"Anyways, you guys probably know the drill… we'll take attendance, then you'll have the chance to register your weapon, please make this quick, I'm not paid enough for this…" Aldir yawned

I could here the slight murmurs of 'what the fuck…' here and there as Aldir began open the attendance list

"Rank 1897, Shinpei Jin"

"Here" My eyes twitched as I realized my rank was the lowest in the class, I could feel some gaze of of pity and mockery befalling on me. It looked quite sad, sure, but I guess I can live with it.

There may be certain perks of having a higher rank, however, I'll worry about that later.

.

.

.

.

"Rank 6, Mia Verlice"

"Here"

.

.

"Rank 3, Yoo Jun-seo"

"Tch, Here…"

it seems someone is quite unhappy about their rank as well..

"Rank 2, Eliss Alys"

"Here"

"Rank 1, Shin"

"Here"

"Alright, it seems everybody is here, now class, carefully move down here and register your weapon… and oh if you break it, it'll cost a lot, much more than my salary from what I've heard…" Aldir said in annoyance as he clicked a button which caused a multiple of compartments full of different weapons to rose up in front of the podium, "After you do so, you can head towards the training facility to test it you want, and you can put in a bit a of extra training if you feel like it… so, it's a self-study or training lesson I guess… there's no class in the afternoon today, thus, you're all dismissed after registering"

As Aldir finish his instruction, he rest his head against the wall and head straight towards the dream world.

Slowly, the student made their way down to the compartments, and selected their weapon

There was so many different weapon, it ranged from swords, spear, guns, dagger, bow, rapier, gauntlets, whip, chained sickle, to even a large scythe

"You got any weapon in mind?" Shin asked while picking up a spear as he noticed me eyeing the variety of weapons

"I'll go with the daggers," I answered as I held up a set of daggers

After registering the daggers I began to head towards the training facility, and my god it was huge… almost as huge as your mo-

Anyways, It had all types of section for training, for example there was a dummies area, shooting range, a gym, and all that

I began went to the dummies area, I caught the sight of Mia continuously striking her rapier and Jun-seo dancing with his sword in each corner of the room. I even caught I glimpse of Eliss in the target practice area.

But do I give a fuck? Yes, actually

And I'm getting a bit anxious, I was even thinking if I should really show my ability here, if that would change anything, however, I shook off the anxious feeing and reassured myself. "Don't worry, no major change would occur from this."

I felt stupid, idiotic for thinking of such trivial and insignificant matter.

This anxiety, it's eating me from the inside. I had no idea why I feeling this way.

Maybe it's because of Shin. with my sudden appearance, his actions had already showed some changes.

And I get why, an anomaly so early into the round, he had repeated this day for countless times, he must be feeling anxious as well, not knowing if an anomaly like me was good or bad thing.

But still…

It felt like I was contained… unable to relax… cause who knows what kind of problem and changes, unknown to the story, might appear as a result of the butterfly effect I created.

"Huu…" I sighed as I began walked up to a dummy furthest away from them and select the options for it, before activating it.

Immediately, a two meter practice spear expanded from its hand, then its eyes began to glow into life and got in a battle stance.

I exhaled as I held up my two daggers and took my stance.

[Silent Wind] was not a style made for prolonged fight, it was meant for assassination, it required the user to unleash a strike as silent as the wind with deadly accuracy while being in a state of concealment to the point in which their mana signature feels 'mana-less'

This theoretically should be impossible, as although one may have prevent a leakage from their mana core, their movement would always cause a fluctuation in mana in the environment.

Jin Shinpei's grandfather didn't try to prevent the leakage of his mana core, but came up with a much more complex concept.

Instead, he comprehended the mana in the surrounding and manipulated his own mana to continuously mimic the properties and intensity of it, this would allow him to blend in with the fluctuation of it as he move, it was extremely difficult.

But once successful, I believe even the demon who invaded this world plane would not be able detect his existence

It took him over 30 years just to master it, that was when his glory began.

'Become one with mana' he would often say.

My mastery of the art was nothing compared to his, I could only hold this state of concealment for 5 minutes, while he could hold it for over 12 hours.

But, I had two cards up my sleeves and that was [Wind Mimicry] and [Absolute Probabilities Manipulation]

Setting the wildcard aside, with my [Wind Mimicry] I could develop a new style along with the [Silent Wind] dagger art, a style for prolonged battle

And that was exactly what I was trying to do.

The dummy charged forwards at high speed while thrusting its spear forward

I merely gaze at its approaching figure

Swoosh

As the spear cut through the air, arriving in front of my face, accompanied with sounds of whistling howl of wind, I shifted, causing my entire body to disperse and became one with the wind, then, I activate the concealment technique of the [Silent Wind] art

The dummy robotic eyes darted around to try and find traces of me, but it couldn't.

Then suddenly, it's head was cleanly sliced off

Swoosh

With the sound of wind howling, my body shifted back to its original form behind the decapitated dummy

'I'm still really slow,' I thought in annoyance.

The dummy, with it's head gone, slowly rose up and got in a battle stance again

"This is going to be annoying…" I muttered, "let's try it.."

The dummy charged forth once again, piercing the air with it's spear, it slashed towards my throat at high speed and as the spear made contact with my neck, it passed through it magically.

I continued to dance with dummy, dodging slashes, parrying strikes, and using my ability to allow attacks to pass through my body.

"Ha…ha… damn that took a shit load of concentration just to pull off…" I couldn't even last 10 minutes, my mind was aching from the concentration needed to specifically target each part of my body where the attacks would pass through with [Wind Mimicry]

"Hey…" it was then a cold voice resounded behind, naturally I knew who this voice belonged to, and that is exactly why I didn't want to turn around

"Hey, I'm speaking to you" the voice continued

I heaved a quiet annoyed sigh before answering, "Yes, miss? How can I help you?"

"You… look at others when they are speaking to you…"

"I'd rather not waste my energy on something so trivial like rotating my body towards your direction with the intention of showing you that you have my entire attention, just my assurance of my words should be enough…"

"…" I couldn't see her but I knew she was slightly pissed.

As of currently, other than Shin, it would probably be best if I were to avoid building unnecessary connection and relationship with the other protagonists.

Associating with them may put me in some type of light, and maybe even get on the radar of demon king much earlier than I expected.

"Anyways, is that all?"

"You… w-what's your relationship with Shin? You two seem awfully close" Mia asked nervously, breaking her cold beauty character.

"Haa…" I heaved a sigh as I stood up and grabbed my equipment and started heading back to my dorm, "Don't worry, miss, I'm just his fellow neighbor, and no, I don't swing that way, so you don't really need to be worried about me being your competition"

"W-what…? What's that supposed to mean?!?"

"It means you can seduce him without worrying about me…"

"…"

Did I, a 25-years-old virgin, really just said that? Yes, yes I did.

But do I give a fuck? Absolutely not.

There's something I need to check…
