This was definitely not what Caxon thought would happen when he saw the prince approaching him. So far in the class he had simply found an excuse or directly turned down a duel, so he only had to fight when Aldus told him to, and he simply allowed himself to quickly be defeated and moved on.

But looking at the face on the prince it did not seem like he would take an easy victory and be done with it, and Caxon was afraid that turning the spar down could be considered disrespectful to the royal family which is something he had been avoiding carefully.
