Aviana was now starting to regain consciousness. She sat on an armchair, her eyes blindfolded with a black cloth, her mouth stuffed with another piece of cloth, maybe so that she wouldn't scream for help. Her arms and legs were tied to the chair so that she couldn't move. Peeping through the transparent black cloth, the room was bleak, cold and completely dark. It was quiet and somber in there and Aviana felt the chill as the darkness engulfed her. It was the most piercing and terrifying darkness she had never felt. She struggled to untie her hands, but it was useless. 'what really happened! How did I get here!' she thought.
Finally, she recalled. As soon as the call disconnected, Aviana walked out of the booth door only to find the black car that followed her earlier, standing outside the phone booth. A man, in his 30s, who had a scar on his face, leaned on the car, his hands folded. He looked terrifying. Aviana immediately ran back to the booth. In a panicked state, she held the payphone, ready to dial the office number, again. She just couldn't press the right buttons, because her hands trembled with fear. She was scared to death.
The man began to knock on the booth door. "open the door! I promise, I won't hurt you!" he humbly requested. It was just a trick. He was only pretending to be nice to her, so that she would open the door making it easier for him to take her away. But, Aviana knew better than that. She didn't open the door. The man was loosing his patience. He walked back to his car to answer his phone which was ringing. After talking on the phone for a while, he walked back. Suddenly, he jerked forward and with his body he began to barge the door open. Within no time, he would be able to open the door. So, it was left for Aviana to help herself. 'Don't panic! Devin is on his way!' she tried to calm the already tensed atmosphere. But still, she was troubled. Troubled because, by the time he would arrive, she would have already been taken away. It would be too late. But it didn't matter. She had to find a way to pass a message on to him, incase he didn't find her by the time he arrived.
Searching through her bag, she came across a piece of metal. Holding it on her hands, she thought about it carefully. 'Aviana, this is the only way! You have to do this!' She breathed in and out to calm herself down. 'Okay, let's do this! ' She pierced her palm with the piece of metal. With the blood that oozed from her palm, she wrote on the booth door, ' COME FIND ME!!' As soon as she was done writing the last word, the door banged open. The man stood behind her. Aviana, in a panicked state, dropped the piece of metal on the ground. Before she could turn around, the man launched forward and covered her face with a white handkerchief. Then, she lost her counsciousness.
Ethan stood by the window of his office, looking outside, into the dark. It was already midnight. And still, Aviana was nowhere to be found. Sleep was miles and miles away from him. How could he sleep? Knowing fully well that she was missing? With a sigh, he walked back to his chair. He thought about it carefully. 'Who would want her dead!' But nobody came in mind. He couldn't get a hold of the person behind her disappearance. Devin walked in. "Sir, you should get some rest! The team is doing its best to find her! We are doing everything possible to find her!" he spoke, with a hind of concern in his voice. Of course, he was worried about his boss. He was worried that he might get sick if he didn't get enough rest.
Ethan dismissed off his concern. "Sleep is the least of my worries right now! You and the team should do better, to find her as soon as possible!" he uttered, his face expressionless.
"Sir, we need more time! We've practically searched every corner of the city but we couldn't find her!" said Devin.
"Time? How much time do you need? 2days?3weeks?a year? a decade? How much?" he asked, irritated. Time was obviously not on their side. By the time two days would be over, she might be dead? He couldn't let that happen. The clock was ticking, so whatever they needed to do, it had to be done very fast. Because, whoever kidnapped her didn't want money at all. If they did, they would have made a phone call asking for a ransom, but they didn't. They wanted her dead. But why? That was the question he kept asking himself over and over again, but he didn't get the answer. Devin couldn't say a word. He could see that his boss was irritated. "I'm sorry, Sir. We will do our best!" He walked out of the office. Before he could close the door behind him, as if recalling something, he walked back.
"I think I know who is behind the kidnapping!" said Devin as soon as he came face to face with his boss. He had known it from the beginning, but he didn't know how to approach the matter. He knew his boss. He knew how he would react if his hypothesis was right, especially because the person was someone who wasn't capable of even hurting a fly, in his eyes. He hesitated. "Who?" asked Ethan, impatiently, his eyes full of anxiety.
