There won't be a next time

Kindred hospital

James and Devin stood at the gate of kindred hospital with some other nurses accompanied with a wheeled stretcher. The Lamborghini stopped in front of the gate, as Ethan rushed out of the front door, to the back door and came out with Aviana in his arms. If anyone could take a good, close look at him, then they would notice, he was no longer the cold-hearted CEO they knew, but a caring person afraid of losing his loved one. There was tension in his eyes. His facial expression said it all. He was worried. As he placed her on the wheeled stretcher, he glanced at her already pale, but still beautiful face. Her eyelids moved up and down. It was as if she were struggling to open her eyes. Her lips had turned from pink to pale. He accompanied the nurses as they wheeled her inside the hospital and into the room set aside for her to be examined.

"We need to examine her, so you'll have to leave, now," said James. Ethan glanced at James and then at the little woman who lay helpless on the hospital bed. He bend down such that his body was almost touching hers, and with his lips near her ear, he whispered, "hold on." As he walked out of the door, James followed him behind. "She will be fine. We'll do everything we can to make sure that happens. Right now, you need to go home, take a shower, and probably have a good rest," said James as soon as they were out of the room. "Take care of her, for me," he responded. "Call me if anything happens," he added. In response to his request ,James tapped on his shoulder as an assurance. "I trust you, James" he added, as he continued to walk towards the door.

Beverly hills

Chloe walked in, furiously throwing anything her hands came across. "Aargh! This can't be happening!" she fumed with anger,as she threw to the ground an earthenware container and broke it into pieces. Her lips tightened as she folded her hands into a fist. "This can't be happening! She was supposed to die! Why did he allow her to escape! He's so stupid! I can't believe this! He couldn't even guard a simple woman!" she continued to seeth with anger. "That bitch! She's lucky she managed to escape this time! But next time, I'll make sure to kill her myself!" She continued to vent her anger on anything that she came across.

"There won't be next time," uttered jayden as he continued to approach her, in a slow but swift manner. He had been in his room, when he heard the frequent noise in their living room.

On hearing his voice, Chloe turned around and in a confused state, she asked, "Why? What are you talking about?" As soon as he was standing face to face with her, he responded, "I won't let you commit the same mistake, again! You're my sister, and I don't want you to ruin yourself! Well....as far as I'm concerned, there won't be next time, because you're leaving the city! I've made the arrangements, everything is set! You're leaving for Japan, tomorrow!" As he concluded his statement, he turned around to head back to his room. On the other hand, Chloe was trying to process what he had just said.

"Wait, What!" she exclaimed. "Brother, you can't do this to me! What will I be doing in Japan! I don't even know anyone! Are you trying to punish me?" As she pushed out these words, she ran after him and stood in front of him, before he could climb the stairs.

"I'm doing this for your own good," he simply said. "No! You're not!"she shouted. "If it were for my own good, then you would have atleast considered my feelings! I don't want to go! I want to stay here! I grew up here, all my friends are in this city! How do you expect me to leave LA, a place I've know all my life?" She began to cry. However, Jayden had already made up his mind. She was going to leave, and nothing could change his mind on the issue.

"I'm sorry, Chloe. But it's settled, and you know me. I don't go back on my word," He climbed the stairs and left for his room. Chloe walked to the sofa and slumped on it. Her head in her hands, for a long time, she stared on the ground, as she was still trying to process the fact that she was going to leave the city, tomorrow.

"No!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "This can't be happening! How? Where will I start from? No! No! If it's a dream, then somebody should wake me up! This is one hell of a nightmare!" She was unable to believe all that was happening around her, in just a day. First, she failed to kill her arch-enemy, Aviana. And now, she was being forced to leave the city by her own brother. It was now so obvious that the heavens were against her.

Meanwhile, Ethan walked into the mansion and immediately went upstairs to freshen up. He didn't even bother to greet Auntie Garcia. She didn't give much thought to his unusual behavior, rather she probably thought he was tired and needed some rest. She walked back to the kitchen and continued with what she had been doing before he walked in. Ethan immediately took off his clothes, and with a towel tied to his waist, he walked into the bathroom and slumped the door shut. He felt a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time, ever since, Aviana disappeared. He was relieved. Relieved, because she was found, safe and sound. Relieved, because he trusted James. That he was capable of taking good care of her. If not, he wouldn't have left the hospital. He wouldn't have thought twice about leaving her alone, in his hands.
