She gripped her boarding pass tightly in her hands and walked towards the security checkpoint. After clearing her immigration, she went to the nearest information panel for flight information. One last time, she glanced at the city she grew up in, tears trickling down her face. It wasn't easy for her to accept the fact that she was going to leave the city she had been used to. But, she couldn't change her brother's mind. After all, everything was her fault. She caused it all. She walked to the boarding gate. After confirming her flight number on her boarding pass, Chloe boarded the plane, as she flew away, to her destination.
Kindred hospital
"No! Please, don't kill me," begged Aviana, as sweat trickled down from her forehead. Her eyelids moved up and down, it was as if she were struggling to open her eyes. In the dream, Aviana's body was shaking heavily, as tears began to flow. It seemed she were scared....scared of the person in her dream who pursued to kill her. Ethan walked in. Immediately startled by her sudden shouts, he rushed to her bedside.
"Aviana, wake up! Wake up!" he called out, as he continued to gently shake her awake. Aviana, suddenly woke up panting heavily, as she glanced at her surrounding, in a panicked state. Her heart was beating so loud, as if it were going to jump out from her chest. She hadn't yet realized Ethan in the room. "Are you okay?" It was this voice that startled her back to reality and noticed him standing next to her bedside. She heaved a sigh of relief, when she finally realized she were just having a bad dream.
"Si....sir," she stammered. "Where am I? Where is my...mum and my brother?" she asked, still puzzled as to how she got here, and why he was there.
"You're at the hospital. When you managed to escape, you made a phone call to the office and when we got to where the call was made, we found you unconscious at the time, so we brought you to the hospital," he responded. "Your mother and the little boy are on their way, here," he added. Aviana sighed heavily. Now, she recalled everything. She was glad. Glad, because she was able to escape. Glad, because she could finally see her family, once again. When she were in that terrible, dark room, she had been terrified. Terrified of the fact that she was going to die and God knows, her body might never be recovered. It was obvious to her, now, that she had an enemy who harbored so much hatred towards her. She had to be careful.
Luckily, she managed to escape, and for that reason, she vowed to live her life to the fullest. She would celebrate her life, and create more beautiful memories with her loved ones, because nobody knows tomorrow. With that vow, she glanced at the man who stood beside her and whispered, "Thank you, sir," A wide smile played on her lips. She was happy. She was grateful to him for showing up when she needed him the most. In response, Ethan smiled back, although it wasn't that deep. There was an awkward moment of silence.
At this moment, Joana and Hayden walked in, "Hey sis, I missed you," shouted Hayden, happily, as he launched forward and gave her a big hug. "Ouch!" she exclaimed in pain, as his whole body pressed on her. "I missed you too," she continued, smiling deeply, as she rubbed his well rummaged hair into a mess.
"Mum told me that you went on a business trip," he innocently spoke. Suddenly, Aviana went silent. What could she say? Aviana nodded her head, in agreement. "But..." Before he could ask another question that could put them in jeopardy, Joana interrupted him. "Hayden, let your sister be, for now. She isn't feeling well, she needs to rest," Hayden nodded his head, in response, and immediately stopped asking questions.
It was at this moment, he glanced at the room, and noticed Ethan standing beside his sister. He had been caught up while asking his sister questions, that he hadn't noticed him. He sheepishly looked at his sister and then at the handsome man.
"Sis, who is he?" he asked. Aviana, immediately realized she hadn't introduced her boss to her family. "oh sorry," she apologized. "He's my b....."Before she could conclude her statement, she were suddenly interrupted by the little boys' eager voice. "Wait! Wait! Wait! Let me have a guess!" Aviana, of course silenced her mouth allowing him to guess.
"Um, he's your..."he hesitated. It seemed he was trying to recall a certain word. Finally remembering the word, he shouted happily, "I got it! He's your boyfriend," Their lower Jaws dropped as they were thunderstruck surprised, with what he just said. Aviana couldn't utter a word. She could only stare at the little boy in her arms, an awkward smile playing on her lips. She glanced at her boss, with a hint of guilt showing on her face. Seeing that everybody in the room was hesitating, Ethan squatted down and took the little boy in his arms. "I'm not your sister's boyfriend," he responded. As he said the word "boyfriend", Aviana covered her face in her hands, to hide her embarrassment. It was funny though and the same time, awkward. It was really awkward, giving an explanation to a little boy. "I'm her boss. But if you like, you and I could become great friends. What do you say, about that?" he added. Hayden went silent for a moment before he agreed. "Not a bad idea," he responded,as he stretched out his tiny hand and hand-shaked with his new found friend.
After that, Ethan walked out of the room and left the three, alone in the room to have some time together. They really missed each other. After days of being admitted in the hospital, days of full care, Aviana was fully recovered. After all, her situation hadn't been that serious. She had only been shocked, due to the ordeal she had experienced, for the time she had been kidnapped. They were finally back to the happy family they used to be.
