chapter 1: the beginnings

It happened on my way to college as I was sitting inside the train, when the crash occured. The whole train shook and started to fall off the rail. It flipped to the side and I knelt down between the seats while holding myself as steady as possible. It didn't take long for me to hit my head hard and become dizzy. It got dark around me and I lost consciousness.

"She's here! She's finally here!"

"Ohhhh"

"Pshhht! She wakes up"

"Everyone be quiet"

"Hihihi"

I could hear several voices and giggling, when I came to. Slowly opening my eyes and trying to orientate myself , I noticed that I was no longer in the train.

It was a fancy adorned room with baroque style elements on the door and window frames, fancy old wooden furniture and bright but warm light that came from ancient looking lamps. Everything gave off a victorian era style but it seemed to be in good shape, despite the old age.

I looked on the shelves that contained many dolls and plushies. They all looked a bit bizzare from the stitches and torn parts but even then, i couldn't help but feel like they were really cute. I don't know why but I got the impression that they were alive. I turned my head 180° and saw a big fluffy bed with many pillows and laces adorning it. It was decorated with a cute baldachin that hung from the ceiling.

The floor was made out of mahagoni and was adorned with a black carpet.

Behind me was a door that had purple courtains covering it. I tried to look out of the windows, but they all only showed a pitch black darkness.

"Welcome back my lady!"

I turned around to see a floating bunny plush talking to me. It felt like I've seen this bunny before and not even long ago....ah right! I saw it in my mirror earlier! I stared at it, waiting for it to say something.

"..."

"Don't be afraid! We mean no harm. We have been waiting for you for a long time"

"You waited ...for me?"

"Yes! And after all this time you finally came back!"

"Came back? Was I ever here before?"

"Of course you were! You don't remember?"

The doll tilted its head sideways and gave me a quizzical look.

"I don't think I've been here before...where am I?"

"In the abyss, where else would you be?", the doll asked me earnestly.

"The abyss huh? So... can I explore this place? Wait no. I was in a train accident just now...how did I end here?"

"Like how you always got here"

"That doesn't answer my question, but okay..."

"Oh no! Seems like the time is up"

"?", she looked quizzically at him.

"Listen, we will meet again soon. You will understand when the time comes, but no matter what happens, heed my warning; NEVER fall in love!"

"What do you me-"

Before I could end my question I felt my consciousness drift off again.

I woke up with a massive migrane. My head throbbed so much I thought someone was playing drums on it. I held my hand on my forehead and slowly rose from my spot to look around, just to notice I was back in the train. The windows were all shattered, and blood was splattered everywhere. If I didn't know better I would have thought the devilman sabbat just took place here. I got up and slowly staggered through the train.

"It doesn't seem like anyone else survived..."

All I could see was one corpse after the other and dismembered limbs while walking through the train.

I looked up and saw the windows and door were now at the ceiling. The doors were heavily deformed, making it obviously impossible to open and climb out of them, so the only option were the broken windows.

"Great..."

I looked down on myself and saw many bruises, scratches and blemishes decorating my body, as well as one of my broken ribs sticking out of my chest. My head seemed to have gotten hit as well, since I was bleeding all over my face.

I was in no state to climb up there, but I had no choice regardless.

Grabbing a nearby pole ,I swung myself up. It was quite painful to do this but I bit my teeth and pulled through. When my foot took hold of the windowsill of one of the broken windows ,I grabbed another pole that was closer to the window and pulled myself up. Grabbing the windows side, I accidently cut my hand on the broken glass,  that remained on the frame. I knew this would happen, so I was prepared for the stinging pain in advance.

Luckily I was someone who didn't feel much pain no matter how badly I injured myself, so it didn't hurt much this time either. When I finally pulled myself out the window, I couldn't believe what I saw.

Is this the apocalypse ?!
