Chapter 36

"Shit..shit..shit..shit!" A male voice called out from within the restaurant.

Through the halls and into a small room with two entrances stood a man right in front of his chair looking at a small tablet with fear etched on his face.

"T-this can't be happening! No this isn't real.. it can't be." The man said as he swiped and tapped on the little tablet.

Let's take this back a few hours for some context.

This man, Arty Greenwood, had come for the open job application of a night guard position at the local family pizzeria.

He was told it was simple work and easy money without much to do.

Upon arriving he was met with the familiar logo of the Pizzeria with its main four mascots on the front.

The restaurant itself was colorful with some decorations here and there while mostly made of bricks and concrete.

The shiny clean windows showed the happy families and their children running around, eating pizza, what you would expect from a normal restaurant.

Going it the big red doors with black handles, Arty turned it before opening the door.

The smell of fresh sauce and mozzarella cheese entered his nostrils making him drool before he shook his head.

'Need to get this job Arty stay focused.' He said with a determined look on his face.

Moving forward, he walked by some tables with purple covers and yellow stars on them with some birthday hats later in the middle.

Decorations were everywhere in here.

Hanging from the ceiling were shiny strings of confetti and on the walls were the drawings of children in their experiences here and favorite animatronics.

Directly opposite of the main stage on a wall was a big concession stand with plushies, toys, and sweets which were all being given out in a small present like box depending on the size of the item by a lanky figure called the marionette who was connected by strings from the ceiling to move properly.

Like all pizzerias, there was an arcade that gave tickets which would be used to buy those gifts.

The marionette had purple tears coming from its black eye sockets and white stripes on each of its limbs with some buttons on its strangely shaped chest.

The last time he came here as a kid the puppet has no tears and it's stripes were blue.

"I guess they made some changes.." Arty said shrugging it off.

Moving through the tables and towards the left side of the stage with the massive animatronics, he came upon the door labeled 'management'.

Knocking on the door slightly, he heard some things knocked to the ground before he heard shuffling coming towards the door.

*Chink*

With a click the door was unlocked and opened, there Arty met a middle aged man standing at about 5'7 with short brown hair with some stubble on his face.

The man wore a candy cane patterned tie with a bright blue work shirt that was tucked into some black cargo pants with a belt and gold buckle, as well as polished black shoes.

Arty met the man's regular brown eyes with a cheery look.

"Hi, I'm arty greenwood here for the job interview?" Arty said slightly nervous.

The man blinked momentarily before a look of recognition emerged into his face.

"Yes! Your here for the night guard position correct?" The man said in which Arty replied with a swift nod.

"Great, follow me and mind the mess." He said before turning around and walking back inside.

Arty fully opened the half open door in which he saw mounds of paper work and books in piles with a desk in the center of it all.

"Sorry about the mess, I rarely have guests come in here so I mainly use it as my workspace which goes in every direction as you can see." The man said kicking away some paper from the desk before pulling up a chair to sit opposite of the one behind the desk.

"Please take a seat Mr.Greenwood." Arty did as the man said and sat down on the oak wood chair.

The man followed his action and sat down on the desks main chair.

"Alright let's do a proper introduction, I'm Henry Emily the co-owner and manager of the restaurant." The man now named Henry said sticking out his hand.

Arty took the man's hand and did a firm handshake to act like a proper person.

"So about the job I will only ask a few questions and we will see if you are qualified, but to assure you we haven't gotten many applications lately so the chances of you getting hired is large." Henry said with an assuring tone.

Arty nodded with a smile plastered on his face awaiting his questions.

"Alright let's start, the most important question, why do you want the job?" Henry asked laying back on his chair with his arms crossed eyeing Arty.

"W-well my mother wanted me to get a job and she told me to go job hunting and this place was the first I found that payed decently." Arty started off with Henry's face not changing making Arty gulp slightly

"I used to come here a lot in my younger years so I thought it'd be nice to help protect it you know?" Arty said trying to convince Henry.

With a nod, Henry then pulled up so paper from within his desk drawer.

"Your 18 currently correct?" Henry asked in which Arty nodded.

Henry was about to ask another question he saw on the paper but he decided to skip that based on Artys small tale.

As the interview went on for a few minutes, Henry ended up hiring Arty before then talking about pay and what to do.

"It's pretty simple, I'll give you the Fazbear uniform and you'll need to be here around 10:00 PM sharp." Henry said as he stood up.

"For what you'll need to do, my current management aid will give you directions once your here you should be able to find him in the office." He said before walking back to the door in which Arty followed.

They both walked through the restaurant and into a locker room.

"Your locker is number 37, all your things should be in there, keys, flashlight, uniform, etc. You'll be getting some more things once your here tonight! Alright have a nice day Mr.Greenwood." Henry said with a relieved smile on his face before shaking Artys hand once more.

Walking out of the room, Arty was left alone in shock.

He had actually managed to get the job, quite easily too.

He couldn't wait to tell his mom like some little kid that he managed to accomplish something.

When he got home and told his mother that he got the job he was congratulated by her, but her face said different.

When Arty had told her he got a job at Freddy's she became slightly worried.

She wanted to tell him some things about it but Arty had already left to go out with some friends for lunch.

Sighing she then went back into the living room to watch her daily news channel.

Arty, had decided to arrive early to make sure he had everything he needed and no problems occurred.

He had gotten a ride from his friends and arrived here after lunch.

Upon entering the closing restaurant, he was met with a few employees and the day guard beginning to pack up and leave.

On the stage and pirates cove he saw the Animatronics had turn off for the night and the curtains to pirates cove closed.

The marionette had entered its big box for the night with its strings detached.

Walking through the tables like before and into the locker room he went to locker 37 and quickly found his stuff.

Putting on his purple uniform, black belt and pants, and clip on flashlight, he felt accomplished already.

Closing his locker and kicking it shut with his clothes he came in currently inside.

He then remembered what Henry said to do once he was ready to start the night.

Walking out of the locker room, he past by the main area holding all the main attractions.

The once fuzzy and kind-ish day animatronics had turned into deactivated dead monsters at night.

Their see through eyelids made them all the creepier.

Chicas was currently broken in its right eye showing the eye hanging there.

Each animatronic was somewhat dressed in different clothing except for the marionette which he saw earlier and the cupcake was still a cupcake with its evil eyes.

When he looked at Freddy he swore that he thought he saw him looking directly at himself causing him to walk faster to the security room location provided by Henry.

Passing by pirates cove he found that it was out of order with Foxys figure on its with a sad face and the curtains closed.

Upon reach the Prize counter on either side was a long hallway leading down to a room.

On the right side their was a door likely the janitors room and the left held a large vent.

Both hallways lead to a single door which seemed to connect to a small room.

"This must be it." Arty said relieved before walking down the right path.

Passing by creepy drawings by children and such he came to the doorway and saw inside.

But before he entered he saw something that caught his eye.

Next to the room at the end of the hallway a few feet was a big paper talking about disappearances of children.

Especially in a certain sentence.

|-in recent events there have been smell complaints and missing persons complaints revolving around the local town Pizzeria, we still don't kno-|

The paper had been cut off from there downward sending chills down his spine.

'Strange smells coming from animatronics? Missing children?' Even a suspect at a sister location was assumed to be the culprit.

Everything wasn't adding up right with Arty, but he couldn't do much about it deciding to then move on after giving his sympathies to the parents.

Inside the office was a rolly chair in front of a large desk that held multiple different things.

A working fan with strips of paper on its for more waves, some plushy toys here and there, a replica of the cupcake on some music boxes, a phone, and some posters on the wall the biggest being of Freddy and the gang.

The last major thing he saw was a tablet on the front of the desk.

Entering the office he noticed the doors held two big buttons one being red and the other being green on each door which had caution tape on its frame.

Wondering what they were for he wanted to press one but he wasn't sure that was a good idea.

Going to the chair he decided to make himself at home and sit down.

Rolling around for a moment he picked up the tablet with a sticky note that read-[For Arty GreenWood\Security Purposes Only]

Taking off the sticky note he pressed the tablets power button turning it on.

There he saw on the tablet multiple apps but they were all unable to be opened except one.

Pressing the app labeled cameras he was met with the screen of the main area with all the tables in a static like display.

'Man they need to upgrade these things I can barely see.' Arty thought slightly frustrated.

Tapping on each camera it showed different parts of the building including the parts and service room in which he couldn't enter.

On the floor he saw two strange yellow figures he was barely able to make out in the dark.

One seemed to be a yellow bear and the other a yellow bunny.

'Alternate costumes?' Arty thought having never seen them before.

Moving to the last camera spot which was number 6 he found it was completely covered in static not able to see anything.

'Probably the kitchen since I haven't see it yet.' He thought thinking that he was correct.

The current time was 10:23 PM on the tablets clock making him sigh.

Henry said the job would be until opening time which was around 6 am.

He would need a lot of sleep after this.

As time passed he mentally punched himself for arriving too early before he heard ringing.

Wide eyed scared nearly half to death he looked at the ringing phone and decided to put it on speaker.

/-ello? uh Hello Hello!? Good this thing is working, welcome to your new summer job at Freddy fazbears pizza, where magic and fun come to life. Knowing that we have a new night guard I just wanted you to know you probably made a poor career choice-/

On the phone a man spoke in long boring sentences talking about the creation of the company before things took a dark turn for Arty.

/-Lately… there have been disappearances here at Freddy's, although to me I think it has nothing to do with us, but who knows, anyways onto the important things,

Here at Freddy's there have been… many new updates and systems set in. On your tablet you have probably already seen the security cameras, we use these during the day and night to search for any suspicious activity but they actually don't record according to our animatronic engineer.

You've already seen to animatronics yes? Good, here's an important note you may want to hear, the animatronics do get a bit… quirky at night.. they tend to wander around the facility looking for children to entertain, I heard it was a sort of night mode that malfunctioned earlier this month and the technicians can't seem to fix it.

That's why you have those big doors and buttons on your sides-/

Arty looked at the big doors once more with confusion.

/-Those doors can handle a fully operational animatronic from entering which can be pressed using the red button-/

Arty's eyes grew in fear.

'I have to shut doors from them why?!' Arty thought with more fear.

/-As well as the green button that actually lights up the hallway used to check for them.. now the reason for these security measures is when an animatronic sees you they think you are an endoskeleton without its costume and… will attempt to grab and stuff you into one, now that wouldn't be so bad if the suits weren't filled with spring locks that easily… well never mind that just don't get caught and remember you have a limited battery supply.. Anyways have a good night and see you tomorrow!-/*Crzch*

Arty stood still in his chair not moving an inch.

"What have I got myself into."

After an hour and a half, Arty watched as the time had finally reached 12:00.

Wanting to leave the room he couldn't find himself to do it because he was simply too scared to do so.

Those animatronics weigh more than himself meaning they could easily get him and hold him tight.

Wanting to get this night over with and never comeback he opened his tablet and watched each animatronic closely.

The main stage that held the trio had no activity and pirates cove was still closed.

He wasn't sure if foxy would try to walk around as well so he was making sure.

After a while, the main stage camera glitched out momentarily freaking out Arty.

When it went back to normal he found Bonnie had moved.

Arty was sweating buckets at this point.

Looking around the cameras for him, he found Bonnie right in front of the main stage standing in between some tables.

Panicking, Arty looked out the left hallway but couldn't see anything because of the darkness.

The lights for the hallway couldn't reach the main stage only making Arty more fearful.

Looking back at his tablet he found Bonnie had moved again but this time he was in the janitors closet.

Arty felt like fainting and he almost did when he found that chica had gone missing too.

Looking for chica he found her in the restroom area… looking directly at him with her dull broken eyes.

Leaping out of his chair falling to the floor, he scrambled to pick himself back up.

'Nonono this can't be happening.' Arty thought foaming at the mouth.

Before he could do anything he heard a metallic clunks on the left side of the security room making him freeze.

Through the dark door entrance he saw nothing… absolutely nothing.

He didn't check chica or Bonnie's location and only stood totally frozen in place.

He couldn't think of breath straightly.

With his heart pounding loudly, he slowly moved forwards the doors light button and when his arm was finally and inch from it he pressed it.

With a buzz, Arty stood face to face with the bunnies massive mouth wide open and his eyes looking directly at Arty.

Neither of them moved for a few moments before a scream broke out.

We are now back to the present.

For now..
