Every decision you've made has gone sideways lately. Apparently, decision-making is not your forte. Either that or it doesn't actually matter what sort of decisions you make. The Gods obviously have plans for you that you are not privy to and are not allowed to question.
Is this probably a trap? Most assuredly. This woman sounds like she expects trouble, so asking for two warriors to accompany her makes sense. But you? Less so. And whatever the trouble is, you'll probably be a part of it, whether you want to or not.
Chances are you could say no and head for the border, and then something even more ridiculous would happen to force you back here again. Sudden storms and sirens out of nowhere, indeed. Better to just roll with it. Hope for the best.
Frell.
Oh well, there's nothing for it. You'll go along and hope you don't slow them down or get killed in the process.
Also, being around so many people could possibly dissuade Dorlas from trying to apprehend you again—if he decides to follow you, that is. Which he probably will, but…! He'll head for the border, for sure, just as you were planning to do. Yet the border is west of the port, and you'll be going to the east if you do as Daelynn asks! You might even manage to lose him for good!
Unless he decides to just wait for you at the border. Frell. You'll cross that bridge once you get to it.
You focus your attention on Daelynn, who very much looks like the cat that got the cream. Her eyes are almost sparkling, her lips curved in a wide smile. "Excellent! As soon as we go ashore, we'll rest at the inn and then leave at first light tomorrow morning! It's settled!" she announces triumphantly.
You smile weakly at her, unable to fully match her jubilation. It's been a long day.
You turn your attention to your displeased friends and see that yes, they are indeed quite grumpy about these developments. Straasa is looking at you with troubled eyes, worry written clearly across his face.
"It's okay, Straasa. You'll be right there with me, right?" you ask, trying to reassure yourself as much as him.
He nods gravely. "Every step of the way," he promises, and it makes you feel marginally better. Safer.
