**It's short story around 50 chapters or so**

Ace, a 17yr old high school student. He doesn’t interact much and lives in his own world, and doesn’t like being the center of attraction. His life was the usual one until he became friends with Annie. Annie is also a high school student and Ace’s classmate. But unlike him, she is good at interacting with others, except that she also doesn’t like being the center of attraction.

From that day, his life changes little by little, realizing and experiencing new things. Will these changes be a good one? How will it end? This is the story of a couple who will change each other’s life.

Can I Be Your Friend

Author's Note: Greetings to everyone :) and before you start reading this story, I wanted you all to know something.


First of all, "Can I Be Your Friend" was the first novel that I wrote and uploaded on a web novel platform (Tapas). And this one which I am uploading here on "WebNovel," is like a remake with changes and all. Though I haven't changed any of the storyline and all but you might find this story a bit rushed at some places.


So if you guys have any questions and all, please comment down, and I will surely answer. But be sure to read this story. It's good (self-proclaimed xD)

"You shouldn't involve with us!! You are above us… Right?"..."I know right, he should never be with us."


I have always heard this directly or indirectly, and I can still hear this all. It's dark here.


"Hey….. You are me, and I am you. We both hate humans, right? At the same time, we don't hate them. Why is it so?


Here we go again… A dark clouded form of myself talking to me again.


"Is it because I haven't changed and only you changed? Even though we both are the same." He chuckled and spoke.


I suddenly heard my phone ringing, and I woke up. It stopped right after two to three rings.


I picked up the phone and checked my call log. And realized that it was just another spam call.  But then that's when I saw a familiar number yet not a familiar number. Since I already had a guess whose number it might be, so I crosschecked.


Guess what? It's Annie's number. But why did she call me? Does she need something from me? Was it important? Well, I will get my answers by tomorrow, So I will go back and sleep.


I still don't know why she called me. But why am I looking forward to it? Weird… That is, my classmates and I are here in the computer lab. My eyes fall on a boy named Shawn. He has a crush on her since the first day of our school. If I want to get my answer, then he is a perfect experimen – guy for it.


For a fun fact, Annie rejected Shawn's proposal once. Even when Shawn is good-looking, he is also one of those who are like pillars of the group. But she still rejected him… The world is full of mysteries.


"Hey Shawn, Annie called me a day before yesterday though I didn't pick up the call. I guess I was busy. So aren't you curious?"


"Wh-What? She called you? Even I have never got one." He totally frowned.


"Your case is different if you remember."


"Oi... That's rude, you know. He sighed and again spoke, "But I am curious to know why she called you."


"If I had known, then I would have told you," I replied.


"I see." And saying that, later that day, he went to her and asked her directly. And the next day he comes to me, and he is totally sad.
