Rafi looked down for a moment. Then he looked at Nazwa. "I'm sorry, Naz. I'm too cowardly, to tell the truth. Renata must have told you what happened. Honestly, Naz. I never wanted to be in a situation like this. If I could repeat the story of my life, I wish I didn't owe anything to Renata's parents. So I don't have to fulfill my adoptive father's request to marry Renata," complained Rafi.
"I'm not asking for your defense, Fi. What happened must have happened. I just want you not to lie to me and the kids! You said that whatever we are going to do is related to children and they have rights that we must consider with the steps we will take. Remember, when you found out Kafka wanted to marry me? You're upset that I didn't ask the kids what they thought. How about yourself? One year is not a short time, Fi!” said Nazwa.
"Nazwa, I'm confused. I don't want the kids to think our divorce is because of Renata's presence," said Rafi.
"But that's the truth, right? Rafi, I'm not someone who always regrets what happened. You know it. And I have never regretted our divorce. For me, everything is destiny that I must live. I just don't understand why you never told me anything about all that!” Press Nazwa.
“Renata is never wrong, Naz. It is my fault. I did give her hope. I want to see my adoptive parents happy. And making Renata happy is their life goal. So I was determined to marry Renata until my condition was settled. If my condition is okay, I will ask my adoptive parents to marry me to their only child. Of course, they will agree. That's the purpose of my life, Naz. Until I finally met you. You succeeded in destroying the purpose of my life….”
“So you mean, I'm the one at fault, for meeting you! So?!" cut off Nazwa.
"No! It is not like that. Please listen first, Naz!” Rafi pleaded.
“You know, your charm is so dazzling to my eyes. So I forget and no longer care about my intentions. When Renata told me about my adoptive father's illness and his desire to see Renata and I get married, I seemed to realize that I still had intentions and promises that I had not fulfilled," continued Rafi.
“Then now, your intention has been accomplished? There should be no more problems between you two! Sorry Fi, I didn't interfere. But Renata told me what happened between you two. And to me, that is very strange. You know after marriage, you should provide for your wife physically and mentally. How can you, Fi, not provide for Renata's inner support throughout your marriage, " said Nazwa.
“Naz, just so you know. I've been trying ... trying to fulfill my obligations to Renata. Yes, we made out, like a married couple. But, that's all. I can't, Naz!” complained Rafi.
"Can not bear? You're still a normal guy right?!” reproach Nazwa.
"Nazwa! Looks like you need to know why I can't sleep with Renata!” Rafi growled in annoyance.
"I don't want to know about that!" denied Nazwa. "I just want you to know that you shouldn't act like that! After all, Renata is your current legal wife! and you should give her rights as a wife!” demanded Nazwa.
Rafi sighed hearing Nazwa's words. He didn't like this situation. "Nazwa, I don't think it's any of your business!" said Rafi sharply, not liking Nazwa's words which seemed to corner him.
“That's none of my business since you made it so! The reason you don't provide inner support to Renata is because of me, right? You said you couldn't do it without love. While your love is only for me. Tell me again it's none of my business! You brought me into your troubles and Renata, explain that it's none of my business!” Nazwa repeatedly emphasized how Rafi had gotten her into trouble between Rafi and Renata.
"Okay, you're right. I apologize. But, can you see. That's how much I love you. Don't you understand that? I never had the slightest intention to hurt you let alone betray you! I love you too much, Naz," said Rafi earnestly.
“But you did, Fi. You've hurt my heart. It made him hurt and cracked,” regretted Nazwa, regretting Rafi's actions.
"Give me a chance to treat the wound, Naz," Rafi grabbed Nazwa's hand suddenly. Nazwa looked at him expectantly. "Please, if not for me, then do it for Salsa and Hanif," He whined.
Nazwa looked at Rafi's hand that was holding her hand. Then she looked into Rafi's eyes. She saw sincerity there. In a flash, her sweet memories with Rafi, the man who had been a part of her life for 12 years, were exposed again. She closed his eyes. And when her eyes opened again, she let go of Rafi's hand.
"But the wound has been treated, Fi. Sorry," Nazwa said quietly.
"Kafka?" guess Rafi.
"Yes," nodded Nazwa. “Kafka is the one.”
“Nazwa, if at this time I requested to be able to marry you again. Would you consider it?” Rafi asked a question that surprised Nazwa.
"You mean?"
"I'm just asking you for a chance. To make your heart believe, that I sincerely love you. And I promise not to hurt your heart again,” Rafi tried to reassure Nazwa.
"I don't understand, Fi?!" Nazwa shook her head. She felt confused.
“If Kafka hadn't been in your life, would it have been possible for you to come back to me? I think my chances are slim,” Rafi chuckled. "You know, Naz. I am grateful for Kafka's presence. Because then you will know how much I love you. I will compete with Kafka, to have your heart and love. Let me, Naz. Like you gave it to Kafka,” Rafi pleaded desperately.
"You're crazy, Rafi!" Nazwa exclaimed feeling that Rafi's wish was very strange.
"That's not madness, Naz. But desire!” replied Rafi.
“A crazy wish!” said Nazwa.
“But Kafka has agreed, Naz!” said Rafi.
"Agree?" Nazwa increasingly did not understand.
"Yes. He agreed to give me a chance to try to win your heart back. And he has agreed that we will be rivals in an attempt to be your life partner. We have promised to compete in a sporting manner. And… Naz, hey… Naz, Nazwa…!” Rafi called out for Nazwa.
Nazwa ran away from Rafi. Her heart was filled with anger. Two assholes! More in the heart. She stopped a taxi. "Golden Tower, sir," she ordered the taxi driver. She ignored the ringing phone in her bag. Her mind was messed up. Right now she wanted to hear Kafka's confession as well as curse him.
*****
Golden Tower.
"Sorry for the long wait, Naz," Kafka said as he entered the meeting room where Nazwa was waiting for him. "What's the matter, Naz? Suddenly came here. There's something important that can't wait for me to come to your house, mmh? How great is the urgency of your longing for me?” tease Kafka.
"Looks like today's weather is sunny in your heart huh?" Nazwa smiled sarcastically.
“Mm… yes. I won the tender, Naz. That's a big tender. I'm very excited, "explained Kafka with a big smile.
"Oh yes? Isn't it because you managed to get a rival to show how much power you have in attracting women?" quipped Nazwa.
