“Ahhhhhh!” The woman behind him screamed. The man also looked dumbfounded, shaking in fear.
Neither of them had seen creatures like this before, and they stood petrified.
Ryan, on the other hand, gripped his knife in excitement. His nervousness from earlier was no longer there for some reason.
The fact that he was facing such an impossible situation evoked a strange thrill within him. This was perhaps a side-effect of his different black screen, or maybe his brain was just wired like that?
He did not know, and he did not have the time to think about such things right now. His mind spun as he tried to think of how he was going to handle three goblins at the same time.
He saw the few cloth stands near them and wondered if he could push one of these on the incoming goblins and use that distraction to avoid them.
The goblins were already rushing towards them, so it was not like he could patiently sit down and come up with a proper strategy.
This was all that he had, and he was going to go with it and fight it out.
Grrrraaa! Screeee! Screeee!
The three goblins grinned as they approached the three human beings in the room. One of them had a strange-looking serrated dagger that the goblin waved threateningly in the air.
Ryan quickly moved as he grabbed the cloth rack with one hand, holding the knife with the other. “I will handle the one with the dagger, can you-”
However, before he could speak his plan or do any sort of action, unexpectedly, the man behind him pushed him forward in a hurry.
“Ahhhh! Take him! Spare us!” The two of them scrambled to the back of the shop, trying to get out of there somehow.
Ryan, who was already moving and in the middle of something, got completely caught by surprise and stumbled and fell forward, unable to keep up his balance.
“Fuck!” He cursed as he quickly tried to get back on his feet. However, the goblin in front of him was already slashing down at him.
In the heat of the moment, Ryan acted instinctively, and he rolled onto the side, the goblin’s dagger hitting the floor instead of his body.
He then grabbed the cloth stand to make it fall on him and the goblins at the same time, creating chaos.
Screee! Screee!
The goblins screeched loudly, tearing apart the clothes that had fallen all over them and pushing aside the metal stand.
Ryan used this split-second chance he had and quickly rushed to the back of the shop where the other two had run.
But it looked like the back exit was closed.
Bang. Bang. Bang. The man and the woman from earlier were loudly banging on the closed door, hoping that someone would open it for them.
“Still here?” Ryan grinned as he ran towards them.
“Ah. Ah.” The man trembled in fear as if he was seeing a ghost. The woman hid behind him.
Even more so when the two saw that the goblins behind Ryan were still alive.
This time Ryan did not flinch as he came up with a new plan on the spot, an easier and more straightforward plan.
He grabbed the man by his hand and tossed him towards the goblins. The man hadn’t killed any zombies or levelled up, so he couldn’t resist Ryan’s actions at all.
He was tossed onto the goblins like a pillow, and they tore him apart. Ryan used this chance to stab the one at the right, directly aiming for its throat.
His hit was a little off, and it landed on the shoulder. Nevertheless, blood gushed out, and it made the goblin weaker. The creature became wobbly.
Ryan grunted and did not stop and kept stabbing the one next to it.
He kicked the man on the ground, who was already mauled by the goblins, his corpse making the other two stumble and fall backwards.
It seemed like these creatures were a bit weaker than him because of their small stature but their frenzy and speed more than enough made up for this weakness.
Ryan had only somewhat managed to wound the three when they had already stabilized and come at him together.
In the narrow passage, he did not even have the option to run. His only strategy was probably to once again…
He looked at the woman behind him, who had streams coming out of her eyes as she silently stared at the mangled dead body.
Ryan did not hesitate and hurriedly grabbed her as well, using her as another meat shield.
He was worried that the goblins would fall for the same type of attack again, but they were once again slow to react and stumbled because of the woman falling flat on them.
She was also a bit on the heavier side which made them unable to move her body so easily.
The three goblins started mauling her in a frenzy, and Ryan used this opportunity to stab the one who was injured the most.
The goblin was already teetering on edge, and with this attack, it fell down lifeless.

After seeing the notifications, Ryan collapsed on the floor, sighing in relief.
He sat amidst the pile of two human corpses and three goblin corpses, his gaze settling on the dead humans.
He had essentially killed both of them as well, but he did not feel any remorse. He was the one who was betrayed first.
If they had worked together, perhaps it wouldn’t have come to this.
Ryan closed his eyes and took a deep breath, but before he could exhale, the next notification popped up, making him freeze.
