Chapter 14: Impressive fight

The night passed quickly without any disturbance to the tired Ray. The sunlight entered through the window and illuminated the rather slightly dark room. With that, Ray also woke up and slowly stretched his limbs after a good night sleep.

Then he got out of the room, the house was quiet except for some distant sounds. Ray, easily identified those sounds.

"That's the sound of swords clashing. What's going on?" he thought. He quickly dashed out of the house. If Galdof and Flora were in a problem then he will be more than happy to help. But when he thought about it if there's something that could make Galdof troubled then he can assume that he will be dead weight rather than a help.

The sound of the fight was near so he easily found where it came from. When he reached there, there were only two people standing face to face with a distance of approximately 30 meters between them. A small yet extremely beautiful girl was holding a sword nearly twice her size while in total concentration not bothered with anything around here. Her beautiful white hair danced along with the slight gusts of wind that came through the trees.

The other person was an old man, the only thing that could indicate that was his white beard and white hair. Except for that, he was a bulky man with amazing physic that could make anyone's jaw drop with how amazing his body was.

Obviously, these two were the aforementioned Galdof and Flora and they clearly were doing a mock battle or a training fight. Not to interrupt them, Ray quietly sat down a good distance away so he can watch and indeed he was right.

"Come." Said Galdof with a calm almost nonchalant look on his face while his hands were behind his back. He wasn't holding a sword like Flora.

"Yes." after finishing her reply she pushed the ground with all her might to the point where it cracked and closed up on Galdof quickly. The instant she reached the old man she swang her sword horizontally with all her might. It was a hit to kill!

But Galdof kept his calm face and stepped to the right barely dodging his granddaughter's attack. This interaction didn't take a second to happen and this only made Ray more astonished.

"They're strong!" he thought. But the fight is still far from done. Flora quickly changed her approach and jumped to the left to surprise Galdof but the old man didn't show any changes in his reaction and sidestepped again and barely dodge that attack again. It was overwhelming, his movements were so fluent as if his whole body was like water, moving so harmoniously and all of this while his hands were still behind his back.

This continued for minutes, Flora was attacking from all fronts, and even tried blind points. Her sword skills were beautiful, to say the least bit still, she was against a complete monster. Forget about touching him, she wasn't even able to harm a hair on his body which would make anyone stop with frustration but this seemed like a normal thing to Flora. He dodged so efficiently and without any extra moves that in some attacks he only moved his head or hips.

"You improved a lot but you still have a long way to go." Galdof then did something unexpected, instead of dodging her direct attack, he extended his arm and stopped the blade of the sword with his bare hand. This clash created a shockwave that blew away the leaves around them.

"Grandpa! You always like to show off don't you!" Flora landed on her feet and pouted her face while complaining to Galdof

"Hahaha, I'm sorry Flora but it's essential for your training to know your limits. There's always someone stronger than you somewhere in the world."

Then he added, "Did you like the fight, Ray." His question was directed to the young boy sitting on one of the trees. Ray jumped from the branch and approached the duo.

"It was fun. You both are really strong!" Praised Ray with admiration in his voice.

"I'm still far from strong. Didn't you see how Grandpa toyed with me?" Said Flora with a sad smile.

"Oh no, you're plenty strong yourself. Your movements were fast and lethal and your sword skills were top notch. Not many our age could reach that level in the holy kingdom." Explained Ray with a slight smile.

For some reason, a huge grin appeared on Galdof's face and then he said teasingly "Hoho, then why don't you try to attack me too. I want to see the level of those in the holy kingdom."
