Chapter 22: A huge threat

It took Flora and Ray about 4 minutes to reach their room, the corridors were very beautiful with different decorations. All in all, this inn was aesthetically captivating.

"Room 22. This is it, I guess." Said Ray while looking at the number of the room. It was on the second floor.

Inside, it was quite spacious, a king-sized bed with a soft mattress. A table with a chair right in front of it, all made from wood.

"It quite luxurious for such a price." Muttered Ray while looking around.

"Most people can't afford such a price. 15 bronze coins for a night is not cheap at all." Explained Flora as she jumped on the bed with a delightful look.

"So soooooft! I can feel myself drifting to sleep."

She didn't mind Ray's presence in the room. So he just watched her rolling around like a ball on the bed. A very cute ball that is!

"Hey, don't ruin the bed. We still need to buy some food and other necessities. I finally can eat something that's not grilled meat or fruits." Ray tried to pull Flora up but she didn't budge.

"Noooo! Let me sleeeep. You can't understand how hard it was to sleep on the tree branches!" She was totally sulking which made her look quite childish. She only shows this attitude in front of Ray. But for other people, she's as cold as the darkest nights of winter.

Seeing his partner like this he could only think of one thing to do.

He sat beside Flora, his face was very close to hers which made the girl blush slightly. Then he said in a breathy voice " If you don't wake up. I will have to punish you." Then he blew on her ear slightly which made her blush even more furious.

" O-ok. Let's go." To hide her blushing face, she coughed and stood up like a robot. This made Ray laugh heartily.

But what he didn't know is that Flora was intrigued to know which kind of punishment he was talking about. But that's a story for another time.

At the same time in an unknown place, a young man in his 20s was moving in what seemed like an underground place.

The tunnel was so dark that no one can see anything, but he navigated his way through this darkness with a torch that he held in his hand.

The tunnel was mouldy, with an eerie vibe that will make anyone tremble with fear. The sound of water dripping from the ceiling completed the image of a perfect horror place.

But this place didn't bother the young man. His face was tense and a huge frown covered his rather handsome features.

The tunnel was a straight path. It took him a few minutes before he finally reached his destination. A rusted door with nothing noteworthy of it except for its peculiar place.

The man then took a deep breath as if he was preparing himself. Then he knocked gently on the door.

There was no answer. He then opened the door as quietly as possible not to disturb the person inside.

" Excuse my disrespect. I am here to report the progress, sir." The person he was talking to was looking to the front without giving him any attention. He was looking at a cage. A massive cage that hides something fearful, something that could make anyone cower in fear.

"Speak." The mysterious 'man' blurted one word in an extremely, almost frightening voice. No one would be this calm while looking at the thing that lives inside that cage.

" The preparations are ready as you wish. The only thing left is your command, sir."

"Good. Leave." Again his answer was our commands that oozed with dominance and superiority.

The young man then left with a pale face and the moment he closed the door, he sat on the ground with a scarred face. His breathing was ragged and he was sweating intensely. The whole time he was there he didn't even take one breath.

Then after calming down he stood up and left quickly.

" Finally, the moment came. The blissful day is near. Oh, This masterpiece shall be my sacrifice for you. All hail the gods of war. All hail the holy kingdom! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" A mad laugh echoed through the corridors. A laugh that wasn't human. If someone had to describe it. It was the laugh of the devil.

A new page of history is about to open and Ray and Flora are about to face their first threat. Let the show begin!
