Dorm Life

"Manager Lee, are you really going to leave me alone?" asked Miso wistfully with both of his hands holding on to the suitcases. "It's my first day with the members, are you not going to at least help me?"

Manager Lee had the windows of the car down as he stared at Miso in the eye. "I'm so sorry, Jay, but I have something urgent to attend to. You don't have to worry much, Chris will be coming down from the apartment and will help you with your things."

She shook her head, "But that's not what I mean." She frowned, "I'm a bit awkward meeting new people and I'm not that good with men. Me pretending as a boy might blow up the moment I step foot there."

"Chris will help you with that so you don't have to worry too much," Manager Lee reassured her with a smile. "He's someone that you can trust."

"But..."

"I have to go now, Miso," Manager Lee said as he comforted her with a determined facial expression. "It might be unfamiliar to you but the members are kind people. I'm sure that they'll warm up to you in no time."

"Yes..." answered Miso. "I understand and I'll try my best."

"We're all in this, Miso!" he said as he nodded. "Don't be too disheartened!" He then raised his right hand and waved it goodbye, "I'm going now Mi--- no, Jay! Fighting!"

"Thank you," Miso replied with a faint smile as she acknowledged him with a nod. She watched the windows roll up, and the car left.

She turned around and let her eyes stare at the tall building in front of her. The location was definitely located at one of the most expensive apartments in the city.

The company was well off enough to let the band members who had not even debuted yet in an expensive space. She better not taint their image before her twin brother is back and okay to perform.

She saw a man wearing a black beanie on his head, a black t-shirt, and knee-length shorts from afar. He also wore a black mask that covered his face.

His overall physique made Miso think that it was Chris, the guy she was waiting for, to come over and guide her to the apartment room where she would be staying.

Miso narrowed her eyes and stared at the guy slowly approaching her. Her mask made it hard for her to breathe comfortably.

"Jay?"

The gentle voice was owned by Chris. Miso would never forget the sound of his voice, even if she had to guess without seeing his face.

"Hello, Chris," Miso nervously answered with a slight bow to him. "Thank you for coming here when you're busy."

"No," Chris took off his mask and greeted Miso with a smile. "Not at all. It's my job as the leader of the group. And besides, I can't just let a girl---" He briefly stopped and awkwardly giggled, "I mean, I can't just let you carry all these stuff all by yourself."

"Thanks,"

Chris immediately took a few steps closer to her and took the suitcase and bag from her. She immediately grabbed the other one as she didn't want him to carry all of them.

Their faces were now close to each other as Miso tried to grab the suitcase from him. Her eyes were leveled on his lips and felt awkward, so her stare immediately fell to the ground as if it was the most exciting thing in the world.

"The bag isn't that heavy," Miso said. She wanted to tell him more than she could bring it instead but fell short.

Chris pursed his lips first before he spoke, "I'll bring it for you. As you said, it isn't heavy."

Miso didn't know, but for some reason, her heart skipped a beat. This guy might be extremely too kind for his own good and probably didn't even mean anything about it, but she couldn't help but fall for his kindness.

Well, she wasn't here to fall in love, right?

As she couldn't do anything about it, Miso fell for Chris's smile and won. He was now carrying the bag in his left hand, and his right hand brought the carrier, leaving Miso with nothing on her hands.

Chris turned around and giggled, "Are you just going to be there and watch me?"

"Ah, yes," Miso urgently replied. "I'm coming."

The two of them were alone in the elevator. Miso grabbed this chance to get the bag from him with a playful smile.

"Let me just carry this, please," Miso insisted. "The members might think I'm bossing the leader around too much."

"Nah," Chris playfully shook his head as a reply and continued. "They are the ones who boss me around too much."

Miso giggled as she watched Chris push the 9th-floor button of the elevator. It seemed that all the members were close and didn't really follow the usual strict age system between them.

A few silent moments passed by.

"Are you really okay living with five men?" Chris asked. Concern was evident in his facial expression. "You know that we might be able to hide it for a few weeks, or even months, but eventually, they'll get to know about it."

"I know," Miso sighed. "It would be hard. But I'm doing this for my twin brother."

The doors of the elevator burst open. Although Chris guided her to a room, he didn't even bother to ring the doorbell and pressed the password keys.

"Our password key is easy," Chris said as he showed Miso the password on the screen. "It's zero, six, zero, and six."

Miso nodded and watched him open the door. Both of them went through the small hallway of the room.

"Chris, is that you?" one of the members asked.

"Yes," Chris answered. "I'm with the newbie."

They continued to walk until they were in the small living room space of their dorm. It appeared warm and cozy.

But when she met gazes with one of the members, Miso immediately shouted. "AAAHHH!"
