Chapter 6: route 4

"Mudkip water gun" the water type fired a high pressure stream of water into the opposing Sandshrew as it dug up from the ground knocking it out.

"Sandshrew return" the trainer his Pokémon and gave Julian his prize money.

"Yaaaay you did it" Gray congratulated.

"Water is super effective against ground isn't it? So why was it impressive?" Julian asked her.

"Hmph, it's because you won so you deserve a congratulations. At least my lessons on Pokémon types are getting through that thick skull of yours" She responded crossing her arms under her bust.

"Hey!" He called after her as she walked off looking for their next target.

"Hmmm, should I catch a Sandshrew because a ground type would be useful but then the next gym is water so maybe an electric or grass type" Gray pondered.

"Pika Pi" A Pikachu jumped out of some rustling grass in front of them. Pikachu is a short, chubby rodent Pokémon. It is covered in yellow fur with two horizontal brown stripes on its back. It has a small mouth, long, pointed ears with black tips, and brown eyes. Each cheek is a red circle that contains a pouch for electricity storage. It has short forearms with five fingers on each paw, and its feet each have three toes. At the base of its lightning bolt-shaped tail is a patch of brown fur. It was a female so it had a V-shaped notch at the end of its tail, which looks like the top of a heart.

"She's soooo cuuuute" Gray squealed at seeing the Pikachu. "Go Tepig" in a flash of light Tepig appeared ready for battle. "Use ember" Tepig fired of rounds of embed at the mouse Pokémon who used thunderbolt destroying the embers causing an explosion. The thunderbolt flew out of the smoke of the explosion and headed towards Tepig.

"Dodge and use Flame charge" Tepig just dodged the thunderbolt by an inch and started charging at Pikachu with flame charge, Pikachu in return used wild charge and smashed into the incoming fire type. The two moves thought for dominance for a bit until. "Boooom" an explosion of fire and lightning sounded out causing smoke to cover the battlefield. When the dust cleared it showed both Pikachu and Tepig in a small crater knocked out.

"Go Pokéball, Tepig return" as Tepig finished getting sucked into the Pokéball the Pokéball that Gray threw at Pikachu clicked shut and stopped rolling after a bit meaning Pikachu was caught.

Gray sent out Pikachu and gave it a revive and some potions, once it woke up it looked at Gray curiously tilting her head. "So cute, now Pikachu I caught you so you are now my friend is that ok?" Her response was a happy nod of the head. "Great, now do you want a nickname?" another nod. "How about I call you Tesla".

"Pika!" she cried out in response happily nodding her head.

"Great now I'm going to recall you" and in a flash of light Tesla returned to her Pokéball. "Now onto Cerulean City".
