Rules changes (part 01)

I talked to Joyce for a few more hours and went back to where we were staying.

I was happy to know that my grandmother was still alive and I felt much lighter, the scenes from that night still reverberated in my mind and I couldn't help but feel guilty for what happened.

Walking towards the cafeteria, I soon heard Brayan's voice calling to me. "Elora! Where have you been?"

"I went for a walk"

"Artur and the others were looking for you a few hours ago, they must be in the cafeteria by now"

"Oh thank you Brayan, I'll be heading there"

I advanced my step and soon found their table.

"Did you finally show up? Where have you been?" Arthur asked after I arrived.

"Just taking a walk in the morning" I replied promptly.

Arthur looked at me with his caramel eyes as if trying to see if I was lying and after confirming that I was telling the truth he asked curiously. "You seem happier today, has anything good happened?"

I paused before turning to him and asking. "Is it that apparent?"

"So something good really happened, what is it?"

"No big deal, I just got news from my grandmother"

"Oh, you had told me she was missing, was she found?"

I shook my head in denial and spoke. "Not yet, but at least it's certain that she's still alive"

I was really happy and my eyes said so, at least that's what Arthur told me.

All three congratulated me on the good news and we started to eat our meal.

The next day, we would have a meeting right after breakfast with all representatives and students from the five kingdoms to discuss the schedule and rules of the Competition.

The square in front of the cafeteria was crowded and you could feel the excitement of all the students present there.

"Good morning to everyone present and, once again, I thank all the kingdoms for allowing us to hold this event here, in Brigido"

Soon we heard the City Lord's voice reverberate through the square which soon became silent, waiting for his next words.

Just behind the City Lord were the 15 representatives of the five kingdoms silently awaiting the instructions that would be discussed.

"Now if you allow me I will tell you how this year's games will be, as everyone already knows, the competition itself is divided into three phases: Ranged combat, melee combat and knowledge. But this year, we decided to make some brief changes "
