Traitor (part 03)

With the possibility that this man was a traitor inside the City Lord's house, I decided to wait with Neila until he left the room so we could sneak in for evidence.

We didn't have to wait long and about an hour later, we finally saw the light source that had been illuminating the room being turned off.

Without waiting much longer, we climbed down from the tree and climbed the stone walls to the second floor.

Entering the room, we saw that it was a simple and unadorned room, there was only a wooden closet, a bookcase and a table.

After checking that there was no one around the room, we started rummaging through the booth and the closet drawers.

There were many papers from the most diverse subjects dealt with by the City Lord in the last few months, however, after searching everything carefully, we didn't find what we were looking for.

Turning to look at the room, I framed the scene in front of me not letting anything elude my view.

Scanning every corner of the room soon my attention turned to a specific wall where there seemed to be something that didn't quite fit.

Approaching slowly I ran my hand along the corners of the wall when I felt an irregularity in the surface, taking my hand to the baseboard where the wallpaper began, I searched thoroughly until I found the edge that was apparently purposely displaced.

Lifting the paper carefully, I soon found a kind of wooden safe under lock and key.

"Looks like he really didn't want this place discovered" Neila muttered.

I nodded in agreement and after analyzing the type of lock on the safe, I pulled a clip out of my hair as I started to unlock the lock.

In less than five minutes the lock was finally opened and inside the safe was a pile of papers.

I removing the papers and placing them on the floor beside me before getting up and taking them to the window where we could use the moonlight so we could read.

Reading the handwritten lines, I was finally sure he was a traitor.

The papers contained information on several important Brigido sites, as well as geographic and governmental analysis of the region.

Turning to the folder that was also found, I saw detailed information about a mission and its members.

"Some of these people, I've seen them in the dorms a few times, by the way, they're also part of the organization" I muttered under my breath.

I reread the information once more, filtering out the most important ones.

Members who will participate: 20

Quest completion day: During the Competitions Between Realms.

Mission: Kill members of the Royal Family as well as recruit promising young men and capture the next Matriarch of the Aires family.

Seeing that information, I gasped as I turned my gaze to Neola and said. "Let's go back to the flower shop"
