Lamentations

Finishing the toast, everyone went back to drinking and having fun.

I was still sitting with Arthur and the others and we were talking about the latest developments.

"Elora, even though no one can enter the Aires Residence without permission, hasn't your location been compromised?" Asked Luan.

"Not really, apart from the natural barrier that prevents intruders from entering, the location of the entrance changes regularly" I replied simply.

"Does the entrance change?" Brayan muttered in surprise.

"Yes, she changes" I agreed. "To clarify things better, the place where you had access to this place is not the same as where we are located, it's like a kind of portal and you only had access to one of the temporary accesses that changes with each new moon cycle"

"That is, tomorrow the entrance will be in a totally different location?"

"Exactly"

"So where are we currently?"

"That..." I turned to him with a smirk and bringing my index finger to my lips I said. "Its a secret"

Finishing the festivities, we said goodbye to our visitors and soon everything returned to its usual calm.

I walked towards the back garden and my mother was also heading in that direction.

We walked in silence all the way until we reached a space with the most different types of vegetation and flowers coloring the landscape.

I walked to a small wooden bench and my mother followed shortly after.

She and I haven't seen each other much these last few years and we weren't as close as we should have been, as I was raised by my grandmother, her presence in my life became weaker, thus distancing the mother-daughter interaction.

*Sigh*

I heard a soft sigh beside me and when I turned I found those beautiful black eyes that look at me with affection, there seemed to be a myriad of emotions in that look and she seemed to want to say something but she was reluctant.

"I'm sorry for all these years" She commented quietly.

"You don't need to apologize, I know it was the best choice for everyone" I said for her in the same tone of voice.

"Still, I'm sorry I missed your best years, I'm also sorry to have to pass you this burden that comes with the title of Matriarch"

"I understand and I know that sooner or later it will have to happen, no need to be sorry, I know that if I need anything you will be there to support me" I commented with a slight smile on my face.

She also smiled and we continued there, enjoying the sunset view and enjoying a peaceful moment together.
