Responsibilities (part 01)

As night fell, I had dinner with my mother and then went to my room.

Entering the room, I went to a small picture I kept on one of the back walls and jotted down the latest developments in the plan.

It was a way of keeping everything in order and having a visual picture of development.

We still had a lot to do and this was just the beginning, we would need to do some traveling in the near future and my coming of age ritual was also approaching.

"Looks like we still have a long way to go" I muttered to myself.

*knock on the door*

Hearing the knock on the door, I snapped out of my reverie and asked them to come in.

Seeing the familiar slender figure dressed in black, I smiled as I turned to her and exclaimed in surprise. "Neila!"

"Long time no see you, looks like you've been pretty busy lately" She commented as she looked at the pile of papers and books on the table, as well as the small painting that wasn't far away.

"With age comes great responsibilities, soon I will be twenty, I have to prepare myself properly to be able to manage the Aires Family more smoothly"

"Don't even tell me, my mom has been doing the same and as soon as I completed the two decades she made a point of throwing all her work to me, I haven't had a moment of peace since then" Neila walked to my bed and threw herself on it, she really looked tired.

"What brought you to the main house this time?" I asked curiously. "Have you made any progress in the investigation?"

"Yes and no" She said in a low, sleepy tone. "I came to deliver the usual periodic reports and the only new thing we found was that they are getting ready to do something, which must be consequences of the trap we set up"

I nodded slightly when I heard her words and turned my gaze to the board, it also had a map of the Five Realms, marked with both our hiding places, in blue, and the enemy's, in red.

The formation of the enemy camp seemed to remind me of something I had seen before, however, I couldn't remember, it felt like I would have to go back to some books to find the answer.

"Neila you..." I turned to Neila only to see her fast asleep.

"Looks like she's really tired, it's been hard for her" I muttered under my breath before helping her to cover herself.

The bed was enough for two people and I didn't mind having company tonight.

Finishing with putting all my papers and information in order, I walked to the bathroom and bathed in warm water to relieve the stress and fatigue of the day.

I put on my nightclothes and walked to the bed, after extinguishing the candle everything returned to tranquility and I went back to rest, we still had a lot to prepare, our plan would take time to complete and the idea of retaliation would take a few more years, just we could wait and decide the right moment calmly, despite everything, patience and reasoning were human virtues and we had to make good use of it.
