The Debutante Ball (part 01)

Arthur's point of view:

Time, which waits for no one, moved on and when we saw it, six months had already passed.

The debutante ball was near and the preparations were almost ready.

Taking a carriage, I headed towards the noble zone as usual, currently I was the assistant and adviser to the next heir to the crown and every day I helped him with his daily duties, assisting him and giving him advice when necessary.

When I received Brayan's proposal, I was surprised that he chose me, but as the months went by, I got better and better in my role and as we collaborated well together, our partnership only brought positive results.

Getting out of the carriage I entered the Mordha Family's house and walked to Brayan's office and seeing me arrive, we began our work.

"Arthur!" Brayan said when he saw me. "Today a letter arrived from Aires, our guide will be here in ten days to pick us up and only those of our generation will attend"

"Ten days" I muttered to no one in particular. "So it looks like we'll have to work double for the next few days, I believe you won't want to go through that again"

"That one?" He looked at me questioningly and a few seconds later, as if remembering something, he gritted his teeth and spat between his teeth. "I will never go through that again"

*Laughter*

I laughed at his reaction, I think the last time was a little traumatizing for Brayan, when we got back from the meeting the amount of work accumulated was so great that he spent a whole week without enough sleep to catch up on everything.

Cutting the conversation off, we refocused on what was in front of us and got back to work.

In the next few days we doubled our workload and spent most of our time in the office, reviewing documents, authenticating proposals, reviewing orders, among other things.

As our days passed, ten days passed and I, Arthur, Merida, Brayan and some other young nobles who would also participate in the debutante ball were waiting at the south gate of the city for our guide so that we could participate in the event.

It didn't take long for us to see a discreet black carriage approaching and getting out of it was a woman dressed all in black with a beautiful smile on her face, which was not strange to some of us.

"Hello everyone, I'm Neila, the current leader of the Aires Family assassination squad and I'll be your guide, it's a pleasure to meet you" She said lightly.

Seeing her again I soon realized that the Aires were stricter than the other Aires families for the succession of a position, Neila had just turned twenty but she had already inherited her post as one of the internal leaders of the family, she could be Younger but, exuded an air that was not common at her age, exuding nobility with every movement, she already had the bearing of a leader.

Only then do we understand where all the power and influence of this family comes from, which has survived for several generations without being threatened.
