The Debutante Ball (part 02)

Neila's point of view:

Asking everyone to get on the carriage, we started our journey.

The carriage went lightly along the road towards the southern region of the Kingdom of Aran, inside the carriage, few spoke to each other, there were about seven people on this trip, divided into two small groups that only talked occasionally.

Continuing to look at the road as I led the horses, I ignored the murmurs coming from behind and concentrated on my task.

A few hours passed and I felt a slight movement coming from behind, turning slightly to see who it was, then I saw a pair of caramel eyes looking at me with a slight smile.

"It's been a long time" Said Arthur as he sat down next to me.

"Yes, it's been a while" I returns the greeting.

"How have you been the last few years?"

"The same as always, we didn't stay still for long and I still had to inherit my mother's post so, like Elora, the last few years have been hectic for both of us"

"And I thought it would take a while for you to inherit the ranks of your predecessors but it seems I was wrong"

"*laughs* Yes, as soon as we go through our baptism when we come of age, we officially inherit our position, we are trained from an early age for this, just with the leaders it's a little different since their safety is our priority they just get in touch with the family after entering adolescence"

"The Aires Family is really strict"

"Yes, you can say that, by the way, a family the size of ours is not easily built"

I continued to talk to Arthur for a while.

We talked about the most diverse subjects during the time we were on the road.

We traveled during the day and rested at night, seven days later we arrived at a small village.

We were all wearing thick clothes from the cold, the temperature in the south was several degrees lower than in the capital.

Leaving the carriage, I led everyone through the village towards a small hill on the horizon.

Wherever we passed the villagers looked at us curiously, it was not every day that a group of young sophisticated clothes and an unusual bearing appeared in that quiet village forgotten by the world.

"This is close to where I first met Elora" Brayan muttered as he approached me. "Is it just a coincidence?"

"No, it's not" I replied, continuing to walk. "As you may have heard from Arthur, our family leaders don't have contact with us until their teens and this is where Elora previously lived"

His expression brightened as he heard my words understanding where we were.

We continued up the small hill and reaching the top we soon saw a small lonely house.

It was a simple house and it looked abandoned, she lay there alone, not depending or waiting for anyone.

Seeing that house and recognizing it, I muttered to myself. "So this is where she was raised"
