New Girl

Adam could feel that the halberd in his hand was special. It hummed with a sort of power that instinctively made him understand that it was not something mortals could wield, something that if he had been a human, would have felt cold to his touch, alien, horrible, and positively demonic.

But to Adam, the weapon felt right at home in his hands, its weight, balance, and strength all comfortably fitted to him. He thrust the halberd towards the werewolf alpha, and a beam of black energy fired with a low, bass-heavy boost.

The alpha crossed his arms together, growing masses of branches in front of his arms in the form of a shield, but the beam – a construct of energy fashioned by one of the seventy two strongest demons of Hell – easily punched past the wood and struck the alpha true.

The beam blew up at the end of its trajectory in an explosion of crackling black arcs and particles, devouring a neat sphere-shaped chunk from the nearby tree branches. All that was left of the alpha was one single foot that still floated in the air.

"Oh come on, you have got to be kidding me!" groaned Adam as he saw a shower of golden particles start to whirl around the foot, encasing it in a golden aura.

Within a second, a fully formed silhouette of the alpha formed before filling out, revealing him completely regenerated. His golden aura still surged outwards without it having taken a single dent, indicating that the regeneration costed little to nothing.

"You see!? I-," began the alpha triumphantly.

"No," said Adam as he thrust the halberd again, firing off another death beam this time that completely hit the alpha dead center of his chest. The destructive sphere of black energy whirled around his body, completely breaking it apart into nothingness.

With this, Adam's halberd shattered into little shards of black that crumbled further into particles that disappeared with the wind. Looked like Raum's constructs did not last past too many consecutive usages, or maybe that was Adam not being as competent with magic yet.

Regardless, Adam had finished the job. When the sphere of destruction faded away, he saw that there was now not a single bit of the golden werewolf left. A shame, considering that Adam would have liked a gold fur coat. Then again, maybe it was too tacky to wear.

Golden particles appeared seemingly out of nowhere, circulating in a ball that then rapidly expanded into the werewolf's form.

Adam jumped up, reaching out to grab the golden particles and absorb them with his Shadow Magic. When his hand made contact with the golden ball, it absorbed into him, breaking apart. He made sure to absorb everything before he landed on the forest floor again.

"Finally, we're done here," sighed Adam as golden light flickered through his forearms before traveling to his heart.

He saw golden light appear again; this time higher up by the tree tops.

Figures. Whatever energy Adam had absorbed, it was not nearly enough to feel like he had drained the entirety of the alpha's aura. Seemed like the regeneration worked in two parts.

First, it created an incomplete preliminary 'shell' that then secondly filled in with the rest of the werewolf's energy.

Absorbing the defenseless 'shell' did not yield much, but Adam did not want to wait and risk that shell filling up with the werewolf's power so that he could make some kind of escape.

Adam sighed before he prepared to jump up and absorb this one too.

"Wait! Wait!" said the golden ball. Adam paused, though he made sure to hover in the air ready to break the golden orb and drain it at a moment's notice.

"It is pointless for you to try and kill me," said the werewolf as he started to reform again. "As a golden werewolf close to an Elemental, I am more a spirit of nature than a mere animal with physical form. Unless you raze all the forests in this land, I will always have somewhere to reforge myself.

It is pointless to do battle with me, and I recognize your strength. Will you not consider a truce for Walpurgis Night? You and I both live in these land, and I can forgive any past wrongs such as the deaths of my pack."

"Sorry, but threatening my girlfriend threw any sort of truce you could have made with me out the window. I'll just keep absorbing you and farm mana and power out of you. Eventually, you've gotta die, right?" said Adam.

Adam chopped at the golden ball, breaking it apart and draining it, then did the same with the next. They spawned in fairly random locations, so Adam had to keep his eyes peeled for their golden glimmer or else he would give too much time for it to reform fully.

Though to be fair to the werewolf, Adam WAS going to get bored of this sooner rather than later. He hoped that maybe Leila had a way to beat this guy considering she knew a lot more about magic than he did, and she must not have been far off.

Adam had been thrown quite a distance across the forest, but Leila was strong, stronger than he was for sure, and she should have made quick work of the other ordinary non-golden werewolves.

As Adam leaped up to swat down another golden ball, he felt a presence heading towards him. By now, he was familiar with when magical auras entered within his range of sensing. Within a fairly confined radius, maybe about twenty meters, Adam felt the sensation of little pinpricks crawling across his neck and back when he felt strong magical auras.

This was just like that, and for a moment, Adam thought it was Leila.

It was not.

A black shadow threaded through the trees in front of Adam and closed up to him almost before he could even react.

Adam instinctively backed off, ready to manifest another of Raum's weapons, thinking that perhaps there was yet another werewolf to strike down.

"Huh?" Adam paused as he stared at a woman's figure standing in front of him, holding the golden ball in large, oversized black furred paws that looked almost like costume mitts. She was quite short, maybe reaching slightly over five feet (152 cm), and it was as if all the curves possible had been packed into her tiny frame.

'Bountiful' was the word that came into Adam's head as he saw the woman wielding quite the impressive pair of breasts accentuated further by a thin waist, wide hips, and an equally plump behind. She seemed to wear a kind of underwear of black fur that grew from her body and acted conveniently to cover her modesty, though it left most of her toned, rather muscular body highly visible.

"I've been looking all over for you!" said the girl as she gave Adam an expectant and positive smile.

A thick, bushy black tail swayed from side to side from the girl's backside, and she stared curiously at the golden ball in her large paws with gleaming white eyes slit pupiled with black. "I thought I smelled you fighting, too!"

She sniffed the ball, her nose twitching, and her bushy black furred, pointed canine ears pricked up curiously.

"Oh! So this is what you're fighting! A fake goldie!" said the woman, her voice on the slightly high side and absolutely brimmed with energy. She bore a large smile that, despite showing many sharp teeth, seemed so perfectly suited for smiling that anything else did not suit it.

"What? Who are you!?" said the werewolf alpha in golden ball form. "You dare to deem me a fake!? I am a true golden werewolf! A being of nature on par with a god! One who will lead all wolven kind in union! Unhand me!"

"You don't know her?" said Adam curiously as he looked at the ball, then at the girl with canine features. "You two kind of look similar."

"You know, that is quite racist," said the alpha.

"Well excuse me if I can't differentiate between werewolves," said Adam defensively.

"You're a fake goldie, I know! I know because I knew a real one, a long time ago," said the woman, ignoring the alpha. "I'm a Barghest, so I know all about wolf spirits like us! Though I guess I'm more a wolf demon, so not as weak as you, ehehe~"

"A-a Barghest?" said the werewolf alpha. "First a demon princess, then a turned demon with unimaginable power growth, and now a Barghest. Where are all you powerful demons coming from?"

"I could say the same to you and your werewolves. How the hell did you guys get the money and brains to even get into my school and live on campus?" said Adam.

"I don't want to talk to goldie anymore," said the woman. She smiled at Adam. "I came to to talk to you, after all! Oh, but you wanted to deal with goldie, right? Hmmm…"

The woman cocked her head just like a puppy cocking its head at a strange sound as she looked at the golden ball. Then, she perked up, her eyes lighting up in a 'eureka' moment.

"Oh, I remember! To kill goldies like this, you can't just pummel em'!" said the girl. She held the ball up to Adam while her tail wagged happily. "You gotta use nature magic! Get rid of nature with nature, like how fires burn down trees! Cycle of life and death and whatever!

Like this!"

Completely belying the woman's cutesy mannerisms and aesthetic, the woman's smile twisted into one of utter lust for destruction and violence, and she slammed a hammer fist down at the golden ball.

The clouds above rumbled as a bolt of lightning shot down and engulfed the area, completely drowning out Adam's vision in white before blowing him backwards with a shockwave, utterly annihilating the alpha werewolf and anything else in a ten-meter radius.

As Adam flew backwards, all he could think was this: were all demon girls crazy!?
