CHAPTER 33: TO THE BASE (5)

CHAPTER 33: TO THE BASE (5)

After wandering through the breezy snow, Aria had finally arrived at her destination—A cave

*Whee*

The sound of the wind reverberated from the cave, giving it a wailing sound of a dead man.

Standing in front of the cave, Aria sighted the exterior, covered in white rocks as it gave a hollow feeling that emanated its surroundings.

— I have a bad feeling about this.

She reckoned, as the aura emanating from the cave goin through her bones, giving off an eerie feeling.

"Why did I agree to this?"

She said as she remembered what led to this.

Of course, she knew it was for training, but the feeling she got in was not that of training, but of danger.

Knowing Kyrie's personality, she chose not to brood over what happened as she went with the tides.

... Are you there yet?

Kyrie asked through the comms she placed on her suit a little while back.

While she seated on the wood log, with a holographic screen in front.

"Yes".

She said with a gloomy look written on her face.

"Now, there is a little button on the top of the suit, I want you to press it".

Aria in confusion said.

"Huh! Where?"

"The top left... just punch it".

With her hands placed on her head, Aria then punched it.

The holographic screen then viewed the place, as she then said.

"OK... Now I can see the place".

Adjusting her throat, she then said.

"Ehmm... let's commence your training!"

*Sigh*

Aria then strode down the cave.

*Thud*

*Thud*

As Aria strolled down the old cave, while wearing a rabbit suit, she got from Kyrie.

*Drop*

She felt a cold sensation over her head. Aria then gazed up.

At first glance, she could observe spikes at the top of the cave hanging from the ceilings.

Aria then shivered in fear over the cave spikes as she thought it would fall over her.

In a Profused situation, she asked through the comms.

"Hey, Kyrie, can you remind me why I am going through this cave".

Kyrie replied

"It's a training ground for you".

Worried over her statement, Aria said.

"Then why are you not here to watch".

Kyrie then bluntly said.

"I am watching you fight through the suit, so don't lose it".

With a worried expression, she said.

"Even if you tell me that, it doesn't still explain why you are not here".

"Didn't I explain why when I was given the suit?"

Aria then shouted with a low voice—as she knew shouting out loud might cause the spikes to break off or alert an enemy.

"No... ".

Kyrie ignored her knowingly, as she said.

"Well, forget about that and just keep going ahead".

Aria was driven to think over her statement, as she knew, Kyrie intentionally ignored her.

— No matter how I see this, it's weird...

*Scree*

An unknown sound echoed loudly in the cave, terrorizing Aria.

After a little while of terror, she wore a pale expression—like she was charmed, as she said with a low voice.

"... It would be best to merely follow her directions since it's all for training, yes, it's simply for training".

Kyrie, on the other hand, giggled, as was watching the whole scene—of Aria being terrified by strange sound.

"Hah!"

Following a short while of laughing, Kyrie pondered over the issue—why she had Aria train there?

— Because of the whole change in the klaurs behaviors, it wouldn't be a surprising—if there would be irregularities in their normal behaviors. It's best to check out one of the klaurs areas to report back to Aiya so she could tell.

There should be no concern since it's simply one of the normal nests I train at, but I can't tell Aria that the whole thing is to check out the area. In case of any danger, she can simply press the emergency button on the suit.

Meanwhile, Aria arrived at a group of klaur, as she observed them, she noticed they were all asleep.

She then lurched, as she told Kyrie the situation over the comms.

"Kyrie, I have found some wolf-type klaurs.

... Ky-Kyrie!"

Kyrie then awakened from her thoughts, and said.

"Oh... Sorry about that, I was busy, so I couldn't hear you".

Annoyed by the delay in response and her statement, Aria said.

"How can you be busy when I am training? Aren't you supposed to be watching".

Aria knew complaining about the whole situation wouldn't get her anywhere, since she didn't know the reason behind her lost in thought. She then paused, letting out a sigh of relief, and said.

"I have found wolf-type klaurs ahead

The maturity in Aria's response shocked Kyrie, as she said.

"Ok, don't intersect them yet".

Little did Kyrie know that she would regret herself for thinking that.

Aria then replied.

"Ok".

Analyzing the situation, Kyrie asked.

"How many are they?"

"Five, they are all asleep".

Aria then stepped silently to the klaur.

"Ok, now listen to this, wolf-type have sensitive ears and nose, so don't worry about them finding you out since the suit is both smell and sound proof...".

*Swoosh*

Aria ran the blade thrusting it into the back of the klaur's neck, to avoid it from calling the rest of its pack.

While Kyrie was talking, Aria had already started to fight the klaurs.

"Listen to me when I am talking...".

*Swoosh*

*Swoosh*

*Swoosh*

Kyrie shouted out as Aria was busy slaying the other 3 klaur.

Noted as Aria was not listening to her again, she regretted ever imagining Aria was mature, and watched as she killed the klaurs.

Being ignorant of Kyrie's words, Aria knew waiting for her would be a waste of time, so she said.

"Sorry about that, you just kept talking about the klaurs and I was worried they might all wake up by the time you are done".

Known, Kyrie is the mature one. She sat back and watched as she said.

"Well, forget about that, isn't there a klaur you have to worry about?"

Aria was in wonder about the question she asked, trying to clarify what Kyrie reported, Aria replied.

"Huh... I have already killed them all".

*Grhh*

A sound was made by one of the klaurs that was alive.

Aria then reverted her gaze, as she noticed the klaur staring straight at her, she said.

"Oh, there was one remaining".

Aria clutched the blade as she then dashed forth to the klaurs

"Wait, Aria!"

Kyrie shouted out through the comms warning Aria about the klaur.

Responding to her voice over the comms, Aria pulled to a stop, as she then noticed something was wrong with the klaurs.

***

How is the klaur still alive?

I slayed all the klaurs, but how comes I did not notice this one?

Looking at the klaur, it's like my blade never struck it?

***

Aria ignored it all and rushed towards the klaur with a horizontal slash.

*Clang*

The sound of the blade strike was weird as it stroked an unknown counterpart, sending a bright blue strike with red sparks through the air.

After the slash, she noticed it was unscattered, without a single dent on its body.

Astonished by the result of the attack. She then pondered

"Huh! Why is my sword not working on it?"

Kyrie then shouted through the comms.

"A-r-i-a".

Aria then noticed Kyrie was talking to her.

Kyrie then said.

"Are you an idiot? You got me worried over here".

Aria then instinctively responded.

"Sorry".

Kyrie perceived Aria was in distress, so she said

"It's because you refused to listen to me when I'm explaining the important stuffs. Hah... let's just solve the situation first".

Therafter, klaur then leaped into the air, with it claws faced forth, as its strive to strike her

It was clear the klaur was seeking to attack Aria.

Aria noticed and dashed to the right, evading the strike range of the klaur.

She then genuflected—as she bowed slightly, glaring at the klaur waiting to evade its next move.

While listening to Kyrie, as she said.

"You can't hurt that klaur without mana on your blade".

Kyrie then noticed Aria was not making a move, so she asked.

"Aria, do you know how to apply mana to your weapon?"

Baffled by the statement from Kyrie, Aria couldn't keep up with the conversation, as she said.

"Huh! Apply mana. How?"

Kyrie was astonished—as she never expected that Aria was a complete novice—on embedding mana into an object.

But with the situation at hand, Kyrie was left with no option but to teach her now, even though it takes long to grasp knowledge on it.

*Sigh*

Kyrie then let out a sigh before she said.

"Hah... Normally, we would apply our mana into it to give more power, but some apply to the outside of the weapon maintaining it within to give their weapons additional speed and sharpness".

"Simply think of the blade as a bucket, and you're filling it with water... Well, this type of explanation would take a while to understand, so good luck if you're in trouble, simply press the emergency button ".

Confused by her explanation, Aria shouted.

"Haah... What kind of explanation is that?"

The klaur then strode towards her, as it attempted to attack once more from close range, while she was busy.

Out of annoyance, Aria said.

"This is annoying... How do you expect me to think of the blade as a bucket".

She was then noticed the klaur as she paused for a moment, while clutching onto the blade she pondered.

— The blade is a bucket, the blade is a bucket...

The blade glowed a blue glitter emanating from the blade's structure—like blue flames on a blade.

Aria was overjoyed by this feat as she chuckled.

"Haha... I did it".

Following the few minutes of creating the blade, Aria then noticed the klaur was nearby.

After the klaur observed, Aria's blade had changed, it quickly took to the attack as it leaped once more into the air, gazing straight at her.

But, little did the klaurs know that it was chasing after an afterimage of Aria.

While in the air, the klaur presumed it had her, but after a few seconds it noticed it was chasing after an afterimage.

In wonder of where Aria might be, she was underneath the klaur's blind spot—it's stomach.

Instantly, she then thrust the glowing blade into the stomach of the klaur.

*Strike*

On thrusting the blade, the blood of the klaur splattered around, painting the place blue.

Aria, of course, was also covered in the klaurs blood, with her entire suit covered in blue.

After attacking it, the klaur then dissipated into the air, leaving black dust lingering.

She then stood up as she called Kyrie over.

"Am done".

"OK, that's all for today, let's leave"

She said as she noticed the screen was covered in klaur's blood.

"Ok".

Kyrie then pondered as she didn't expect Aria to defeat the klaurs immediately after she had grasped how to embed Mana.

— That's strange, normally it would take more than a day to get it, but she just got it in mere minutes, and that's not something a normal human can do.

Aria then called Kyrie over her observation.

"Hey... Kyrie".

Kyrie turned to listen to Aria.

"Huh"

"For a while now, all I have been noting are wolf-type klaurs why?"

"If you ask me why, I don't know".

*Roar*

A loud sound roared through, trembling the entire cave.

As Kyrie heard the voice, she pondered over it as she remembered what sound it was.

— That's no normal roar, its the roar of an Alpha

Kyrie then shouted through the comms saying

"Aria, Run"
