Chapter Two: Planet Nyutte

On a certain planet, a black hole suddenly appears and all creatures that live on the surface shiver as a certain feeling of crisis arises.

Pressure appeared and before any creatures could escape to nowhere, thousands of lights started falling from the black hole. These lights, if anyone were to see from afar, can only observe land on the upper half of the planet. This half was full of sand, whereas the bottom half was as green as a forest. No signs of water can be seen from this planet. As if, the planet is only made of green and golden color split in the middle.

Elannie can feel the wind against her body as she falls down from a great height. Her muscles tense in anticipation of contact on the ground. As she free falls, she uses her weight to turn and look up from the sky. She watches as the black hole that swallows her earlier starts to disappear. She then turned and saw many lights falling heading to the ground.

Elannie can tell that these lights are just like her. It seems that a protective cover wraps everyone. However, it does not stop the wind from hitting their bodies.

As she neared on the ground, she repositioned her body and tried to center her core.

"Bam!"

The place that she landed sinks in as sands flew and an upside down triangle with her as the center was created.

Elannie tries to stand up from her kneeling position, however, she suddenly looks down as she feels herself suddenly sinking in.

"f**k!!" Elannie cursed.

The place that she fell down seems to be a quick sand. Elannie did not realize that the sand had water on them. Her landing causes a dent in the sand pushing the liquefied soil outward from impact, now that there is no force from the landing, the liquefied soil started filling the dent back.

Elannie managed to free her knee but at the cost of sinking faster. She can feel her weight pushing the water away from the sand creating a vacuum around her feet and pulling her down.

In a second, the sand was up to her ankle. Elannie tried to look at her surroundings to see if she could use something to free her.

All she saw was sand all around. Nothing can be used at all.

Elannie inhaled and exhaled while trying to sense her surroundings. When she felt a wave of energy, she was suddenly relieved.

Elannie absorbs more energy to build up power, taking a little more than what her limit is. When her legs and knees had sunk, she gathered all the energy she absorbed and focused them in her feet and legs.

In one motion, she jumps and with a powerful force, the quicksand freed her.

If she had waited when she had sunk up to her waist, it would have been more difficult to get herself out of the situation due to the limit of the energy she can absorb.

Elannie landed about a meter away from the quicksand. The location she landed was a stable sand. She felt a little tired at her sudden outburst and her legs trembled too.

'It seems that this body needs some work.' Elannie thought.

The liquefied soil attached to her body makes it worse as she can feel them sticking to her pants and shoes.

Elannie grabs her backpack and removes a towel from it. As she uses it to remove the dirt on her body, she starts seeing some memories.

However, even if she can see memories that belong to the body's owner. She can't seem to make sense of what it is right away.

Elannie saw some type of vehicle moving and something metal that was flying down towards the East. In the memories, she saw a tall building and many people crowded in the streets.

As she thought of the body's owner, more information was passed to her. The body's owner was a single woman who lives with a friend in an apartment. She owns a car however, it was brought to a dealership service to be fixed. Which explains why she needed to use public transportation and was walking on the sidewalk after getting off the subway. Which leads to her death from a stray bullet.

Elannie felt remorse for the cause of death of the owner. As she learned more of the owner's life, more information on the race of the body she is occupying was also given to her. Giving Elannie a feeling of amazement and disbelief from the owner's knowledge and the capabilities of a human being.

Having learned what a human is, their behaviours, attitude and way of life. Elannie can definitely tell that being part of the Brightwalker race was better. Now that she is in a human body, she definitely misses the advantage of healing and her supernatural power due to the inheritance of being a Brightwalker.

But it is a good thing that this body can handle the absorption of the energy without any conflicts. It seems the human race has more chances of evolving further if given time and guidance.

Elannie finishes her musings, and reluctantly accepts her fate in transmigrating to a human body. Transmigrating seems to be the word the owner uses from the novels she reads when a soul passes to a different body after death.

Now that she knows what race she has become, Elannie feels better that she can understand more of her situation.

She then looks into her surroundings. As far as she could see, everything around her was sand. No trees or plants can be seen at all.

Elannie called out the system. "Sila!"

"Hello Elaisha, what can I do for you?" Sila answered..

"Where am I? And what do I need to do?" Elannie asks.

"You are on Planet Nyutte. This planet was chosen amongst billions of planets as the first round of the game." Sila said. " All the players main mission is to build your territory and last till the mission round ends."

"How long will the first round take?" Elannie asks. "And how can I build the territory?"

"The duration of the game for the first round is one year." Sila said. "You can build the territory the moment you have the Territory Base stone."

"What do you mean? What Territory Base stone?" Elannie continued. "I did not see that in the store list."

"There is about six minutes left until the Game completely connects with Planet Nyutte." Sila said. "Please wait patiently for the announcement of the game for further information."

Elannie frowned. "How come you can talk to me now if the game is still loading?"

"I am connected to all the players, so all players can call me out. However, I am just a sub-system. The main system will explain once it has connected. Please wait patiently." Sila answered.

"Okay, then show me my Profile Status for now."

"Understood." Sila said.

Elannie was a little frustrated when she saw her energy levels. Although she overused her energy from escaping the quicksand, she still can't believe it was down to 45.

The limit that she can take is only up to 150 and at best she can push it to 155 but it would result in muscle pain. Just like now, where her legs are feeling painful.

Elannie sat down on the sand and started to massage her legs. With her condition, she cannot run fast if something were to chase her. She needs to relax her legs and also tries to max up her energy level. Having a fast recovery does help recover quickly compared to others. Just like using a fast charger to charge a mobile phone.

As she waited, she put the dirty towel on her backpack. Her legs are feeling much better and she has absorbed enough energy to be able to move fast in case of an emergency. She was going to check her backpack, especially the novice pack she bought when she suddenly felt the same pressure she experienced not long ago.

"Hello!Hello!" Sila cheerfully said. " It looks like everyone made it safe!"

"Welcome server no. 4667 to Planet Nyutte. This will be the place where everyone can show their brilliance and build their territory for their very first round."

"Unfortunately, even though everyone made it safe here using our ever coolest space transfer. It seems that not everyone landed in a good location." Sila said. " But don't worry everyone! Because even if most of you die right away, the game goes on!"

"As of now, Server No. 4667 only has 48890 players left." Sila announced.

At the beginning of the round, 1110 players were already lost, Elannie thought.

"Your Main mission is to build a territory on Planet Nyutte and survive with your territories for one whole year in Planet Nyutte."

"Of course, there will be tasks with great rewards. There are also opportunities lying around in Planet Nyutte. Take advantage of these tasks and opportunities to gain more points. With more points, you can access the market once your territories are built." Sila said. "More points means more chances of survival. Using points can enhance your body to become stronger and better. Equipment can be bought and daily necessities can be exchanged with points."

"In summary, Points are your lifeline to survival in this game." Sila continued. "However, for all rounds of the game, there will be a survival event for each month of the year. All of the players must join if you want to be ahead of others in the game. Afterall, once you're behind, it's game over for you."

"Now, to announce the first task: Find the Territory Base stone to build your territory." Sila said.

"There are only 45000 Base Territory stones available in Planet Nyutte. Meaning 3,890 players will not receive a Territory Stone."

"The First Round Begins!" Sila rejoiced. "I wish everyone a pleasant time playing the game!"

The pressure disappeared and Elannie jumped to her feet and started walking.

She felt stressed from the thought of only having 45000 Base Territory stones. Afterall, the place she landed was all sand. She isn't sure if the place she is at will even have any stones. Perhaps it might be buried under the sand. But with the threat of quicksands, she doesn't want to risk digging and staying for too long in one place.

As Elannie walked, she started sweating as the heat in the sand could be felt. Good thing she is wearing runner shoes. Although the sand somewhat gets inside her shoes, she can still walk okay with it. She zipped up the wind jacket and put on the hood cover so that she could be protected from the heat. Having the jacket covers her body from the sun which helps her move faster in the desert.

Elannie couldn't be sure for how long she walked but as she tried to take her first sip of water from the water bottle she bought in the store. She noticed something shiny on her right side.

Elannie put away the water to her backpack and turned her attention to the item that was shining in the sand.

As she watched it flickered and shone, she suddenly saw movement on the sand.

Elannie narrowed her eyes, and reached for something in her backpack.

In a second, a stone pickaxe was in her hand.

Elannie grip the handle hard and continued observing the sand floor near the shiny stone.

If she's not mistaken, that shiny stone is the Base Territory stone. Probably the only one that was close to where she landed. However, there is something guarding it underneath.

As she observes, a sharp tip suddenly shows up on the sand. The tip is facing away from her.

As Elannie looks at it, a picture flashes into her mind.

Scorpion. A terrestrial arachnid with pincers similar to those of a lobster and a poisonous sting at the end of its jointed tail, which it can hold curved over its back.

Although, she might get it wrong but definitely the thing underneath is a scorpion. Only the size is almost close to a large dog.

Elannie sofly made movement on the sand and controlled her breathing. Just like how she hunted when she was a brightwalker.

She then slightly bends her knees and slowly lowers her hand position.

As she gets her position in order.

She made a subtle move in the sand.

With that, she noticed that the sharp tip exposed earlier suddenly sinks.

Then the sand had wavelike motions heading towards her.
