Flashback at Chapter Two
Elannie sofly made movement on the sand and controlled her breathing. Just like how she hunted when she was a brightwalker.
She then slightly bends her knees and slowly lowers her hand position.
As she gets her position in order.
She made a subtle move in the sand.
With that, she noticed that the sharp tip exposed earlier suddenly sinks.
Then the sand had wavelike motions heading towards her.
----------------------------------------
Elannie readied herself and when the pincers showed out of the sand, she jumped to the side while bringing her stone ax down to the carapace of the scorpion. A thump was heard and then the entire scorpion body crawled out of the sand and faced her landing point. The Stone axe made a dent on the scorpion pincer but didn't seem to make any more damage.
Elannie narrowed her eyes as she observed the injured part of the scorpion, although it did damage it, it will take a couple more hits on the same area to make it bleed. The scorpion faces her and rushes at her with the stinger in place.
She rolled to the side and again hit the scorpion, only this time on the legs.
The scorpion staggered and couldn't move on its left side. Elannie took advantage of the mobility issue and went to the right side and hit the legs, this time cutting away 2 right legs.
Now that the scorpion couldn't rush at her in quick speed, she started attacking the stingers from behind. With three quick hits, the stinger was cut off. Now the only attacking part of the scorpion was the front pincers.
However, Elannie didn't bother attacking the pincer as she noticed that it might be the toughest part of the carapace of the scorpion. Starting from the back without the danger of the stinger, she calmly hacked at the top of the scorpion until the scorpion was split from the top. Each half with a pincer.
"Ding! Congratulations on the first kill of "Scorpion!" Sila announced. " Rewards: 5 points, beast hide x3, Scorpion meat x2"
Scorpion meat- Eating restores 60 fullness, but also causes food poisoning if not cooked properly. Feed to pets to increase Fullness and EXP, food poisoning does not apply.
Beast hide- an item obtained when searching strange beasts. Can be made into leather with a Loom device.
Elannie exhaled and she couldn't wait to gulp down water. She was already thirsty and fighting made it worse. She frowns at the heat and can't help the feeling of weakness with her new body. This body does not adapt well in high temperature areas unlike her former body. A benefit of a Brightwalker body is that they have high resistance to heat, drought and can survive in harsh conditions with very little moisture. Whereas, this body does not.
She sighed. At least, she can guarantee that she's not part of the 3,890 players to lose the right of leadership right away. Afterall, having a territory and living in someone's territory and rules is a whole different matter. Elannie thought as she approached the shining stone half buried in the sand.
She reached down and grabbed the stone. However, as she had it in her hand, a confused look on her face showed when a treasure chest appeared when she removed the stone.
It turns out that a treasure chest was buried underneath the Base Territory stone.
"Nice!" Elannie exclaimed. She reached down and unburied the treasure chest.
Then with no hesitation, she opened it.
"Ding! Received Good Chest Armor x1, (small) First aid kit x1, Cane x100, Fiber x100, Logs x100, Stone x100!"
"This… How can I carry this?" Elannie said. "Sila, can I put this back on the treasure chest?"
"You cannot put back the items onto the treasure chest once opened. You can spend 100 points to open 10 slots of inventory on the system. Do you agree to spend 100 points for inventory slot x10?" Sila asked.
Elannie gritted her teeth and pressed yes on the interface.
"Ding! Received 10 inventory slots." Sila announced. " Your backpack now has 10 inventory slots. If you want to change the inventory location, please call out and pay 100 points for transferring to a different item."
"This is robbery", Elannie muttered. "100 points to get inventory slots and 100 points to transfer to a different bag? I might as well spend that 100 points to add 10 more inventory slots."
She reached down to touch the resources (ex: logs, stone, etc..) and put them on her inventory. Good thing, she bought a backpack otherwise the shop items she bought would not fit into her bag along with her resources.
As she organized her bag, the Base Territory Stone caught her attention.
Territory Base Stone- place the stone on the ground to enable the stone orb function. This serves as the core of one's territory. Each participant can only have one Base Territory Stone in the game.

It looks like her next task is to find a good location to build her home. She knows this is a very important task. Her chosen location will be the deciding factor on the early stages. A good location with sufficient resources is good. Too much resources is bad especially if she is not strong enough to defend it.
Afterall, her former life was spent on fighting for resources as their territory was based on a plain filled with nothing but stone, and soil.
A very bad location, however nothing could be done at that time as all the good location was taken by the big Clans when the big quake happened, resulting in major migrations and small Clan like hers being kicked out of their old territory. With no choice but to move to a plain with stone and small soil around, which is better than a swamp. However, even if their land is bad, it was still coveted by others due to no more available habitable areas for the other Clans. Thus, war after war fighting for resources until annihilation happens.
Elannie sighs and continues her walks. Even though it looks like she cares nothing about the sun and heat, she is truly tired but to survive, she cannot stop moving. She needs to find a place suitable to her and own it fast. Otherwise, if she's too late then it'll be more difficult to find a good location as time passes.
Elannie isn't sure how big of a planet Nyutte is but the fact that there is no water nearby and all sands, can at least let her know she is in danger of thirst. She only has 3 bottles with her containing 500mL each. As she slowly gulped down a little water and let it swirl around her mouth before swallowing, it made her feel distressed and worried about water. It seems like the human body is drying up faster in this environment. Even if she covered herself up, it does not stop the sweat and dryness when the feeling of thirst gets amplified.
For an unknown time, Elannie trudges through the sand environment until the sun goes down. A cool breeze made her stop and relish.
As it got darker and darker, she started noticing small movements and hearing noise. She still couldn't find a place to put her base. And her water is down to 2 ⅓ bottles. Although she didn't meet any beast like earlier with the scorpion, she still was dehydrated. And no energy absorption can help with that.
As the nights get darker, it also brings coldness. She tightened the wind Jacket she had been initially wearing and remembered she had bought with her backpack an outdoor jacket costing her 12P. This outdoor jacket is thicker than her own wind jacket. The reason why she didn't wear it during the day was because it was too thick. Which will make her suffer more heat on top of the sun and more sweats thus not wearing it.
She breathed out a sigh of relief as the outdoor jacket warms her up. She put her hands inside the pocket and continued walking. She doesn't feel hungry yet, as she is using her energy absorption to replace the hungriness the body is feeling.
Even if she has a flint & steel and logs to use to start a fire and cook. Doing that will use up her water more. So using energy is more beneficial than cooking food to satiate hunger and loss of stamina. Until she finds a water resource.
Meanwhile, she made a torch when it got too dark. Although, there are 2 moons above her. It was still too dark for her eyes to see when looking far. She uses 1 log, 1 fiber which she wraps around the log to ignite with a flint & steel.
This helps her navigate around the sand at night. And her walking continued using the stars as the landmark as there is no sun to use a shadow to estimate her direction.
As she uses the brightest star as her guideline, she notices something on the perimeter.
Elannie's eyes widened in surprise and she let out the first laughter in her second life. Then she started sprinting, not forgetting to take out her stone ax in case of danger.
With a torch and a stone ax in hand, she headed to what she believes is the perimeter of a forest.
